Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

So seemingly new player Chargepost award is only for 20 sites and all in North Sydney Council area. That council has previously dabbled with a handful of paid Type2 points in its own carpark, on the rather horrible EO app...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Nope.. upgrades are a waiting game. Can be weeks if not longer between the first and last for any specific version.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

2024.8.9 I still the most popular version globally, although there are now more cars combined on the three main 2024.14.x versions. I'm still patiently waiting as well.

Everything Electric Sydney (February 9-10-11, 2024)

Definitely a strange statement. An acquisition wouldn't normally take that long.. can only think they've issued a purchase option to someone in the past.

Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

Driven article on PlusEV https://thedriven.io/2024/05/27/another-149-pole-mounted-ev-chargers-to-be-installed-across-australias-biggest-city/ Seemingly focussed on Sydney inner suburbs on pole mounted chargers. Not a fan of this however (it hasn't worked in Bondi on Glenyar Ave.. and most of...

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

It's not totally clear exactly what Tesla uses and believe it varies from region to region (eg. 3g intersection displays in China from Baidu). This makes it hard to work out where to report errors. At a base it seems to use Valhalla (now owned by MapBox) which can integrate various providers...

Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

Two new names. Chargepost - looks like another new network https://www.chargepost.com.au/ Plus ES - mostly networking and embedded networks https://pluses.com.au/

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

If the car knows about the tunnel it will just position based on distance, which is pretty accurate. Problem is in the Rozelle Interchange it doesn't sonis continuing to route you assuming you are on the surface streets above. One of the reasons I keep my car on the old two pushes for...

It's always had some memory functions.. like turn arrows or bike lane symbols painted on a road. Still visible even when you drive over them.

    Supercharger - Bondi Junction, NSW

Well I got excited when I saw this. But peering through the fence and talking to one of the sparkles seems to be 10+ Schneider AC units. Still a big improvement for the area.

    NRMA fast charging network

So seems the elumina D1 that will be used at NRMA Mittagong. Is actually a rebadged Chinese made Du-power AFC-200 with some very minor external changes. http://www.du-power.com/en/products/list.aspx?lcid=1 Du-power seems to be selling under it's own name in NZ - DU-POWER Home | DU-POWER New...

Is this a "Houston, we have a problem" moment for Tesla?

Interesting question (And not having driven a Kia) While the disengagement in a Tesla can be annoying, personally I think actively having to give a computer control is safer.. in a similar way to the way two pilot aircraft will talk to each other as to who has control.

Kia EV6 GT Line AWD compared to my Tesla Model Y LR

Note that you've stumbled across an Australian sub-forum thread, Where the included premium music service is Spotify with a premium subscription including it's podcast feature (whereas it's LiveOne/Slacker in the US afaik)

Anyone know the difference in the two codes mentioned in the FRNSW position, because I can see that tying stratas in knots.
  22. M

    Supercharger - Springwood, QLD

I'd think so. Rochedale is only a year old and pretty sure Tesla only does long term leases for permanent sites given the investment required (save for incidents like Toombul's closure after floods)

    Supercharger - Springwood, QLD

Only 5km from Rochedale and arguable serving a similar purpose (Pacific Motorway traffic), although obviously some differential local catchment. Based on the info in the Qld Govt thread, don't think any government funding attached - it was more regional focused.

    Jolt EV charging network

And you could guess that some people would take Jolts new feature the wrong way. (The he also... Is .. "spit on my car" (sic)) Disgusting behaviour. I wonder if Jolt would be better moving to a Chargefox system.. of car at xx% charging for yy minutes. This is at Five Dock...

    Jolt EV charging network

Only occasionally use Jolt but with some changes to my regular charger might have to a bit more in the future. So been watching their countdowns here and there on my closest charger, given their FAQ doesn't say much. For many cars, it seems to simply set a 20min clock (basically 7kWh) which is...

    Superchargers in Australia

I think there are multiple things contributing to this. Elon is getting investor pressure as sales are slowing and there is a global EV price war, particularly with the Chinese manufacturers, and even some suggestions of high stock levels among various Chinese manufacturers in Europe. And at...

    Superchargers in Australia

But ultimately sounds like BYD screwed up. The question is are they going to replace units under warranty, or even clas it as a paid upgrade (like BMW with its CCS1 cars) or so nothing (ergo Nissan and CHAdeMO). And all of that seems to have been avoided in the canned response given to Neerav.

    Evie EV charging networks

Also did it.. kind of a weird survey that could have hidden some questions depending on how you answered others. Also missed a trick imho. I've enagaged lawyers in an attempt to recover FSD cost (Australian owner)

As well as regulatory approval, insurance approval at a reasonable rate... All of which take time. Plus the fact that Tesla still isn't using FSD in the Vegas Boring Co tunnels, a highly regular and controlled environment.

Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

Suspect it's a bit of a see what works strategy. Within those 3 council areas you've got a few different systems - Original council network (mostly 22kW) - Chargefox - $0.42/kWh, spaces marked EV only - Intellihub pole network (22kW) - Exploren - $0.50/kWh, spaces not marked - Glenyar Ave smart...
