Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

NO SHOOTING THE BULL @Sam1 - joking aside... It'd be nice to read through any material where Michelin states or elludes to the loss of rigidity on the PS4S'. Can i find those sources within this thread?

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

ld lean heavy that way as well! I have the PS4S in 265/35/19 and they get loud once you put 17-19k miles on them. I really wish the Ions were made in this size but alas. I would get the Ions all day long. Have them on our model S and it’s noticeably better in comfort and quietness vs any tire...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I mean that could work too! I just don’t want to go Uber stretched lol. But I don’t mind a stretch! Do you happen to have pictures of that size on a 9.5 rim?

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Crazy question - anyone ever run a 245/45/19 on a 19x9.5? I want to run the Hankook Ion Evo tires on my TE37’s but this is the only size they have and worried it would look terrible LOL. Anyone run a 245/45 size on a 19?

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

I think he meant the newly rehired team is focused on this task. 500 + team was probably there for future location development, studies, lease acquisitions, permitting, EPC negotiations, and eventual placing into service. They’ve probably thought they’re done with the real estate side of things...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Is the general consensus that the acceleration is similar to the last P model with only a little extra umph in the early acceleration and the same drop off around 45-60 mph?

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Agreed…why go through the install to fix the camber and then forget about the toe correction from the camber change…don’t cheap out at the last 10% of the fix!

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

What makes you say that? The camber arms were an issue then (excessive negative camber with no adjustment) and it seems to be the issue now with the solution being, camber arms and an alignment. I’m no expert in the design chances year to year suspension wise on the Model S but I am fascinated...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

I got the hardrace ones for my older model s for $200 and did the install myself. Same for the model 3 except that has full KW V3 and MPP arms…been in for a warranty replacement rear motor for the S and they’ve said nothing about them. Went in for a replacement wheel bearing on the model 3 and...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

My 2014 S with 21’s saw this issue too until I got an alignment to pretty much have .1 toe-in, and on stock arms the camber was still out of whack at -3.1 degrees. This helped the tire wear (I think) some but hard to tell since the tires were wearing like crap already and the tires will...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Looks like it’s happening to more than just the “faulty” PS4S…which we all knew since the underlying issue is the crappy alignment and lack of camber adjustability...right? Had to get my little snarky comment in there. Joking aside - I do hope others read this…to fix the issues of the inner...

creaking @slow speed /turning after upper control arms replaced

Could you describe the creaking to the best of your ability? Could be the LCA bushings too - might be worth spraying some white lithium grease on them to see if it quiets them down some.

That’s the way I feel with black wheels however, they look amazing in person! You could always powder coat them a custom color too. I may go down that route in the next year.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

There’s a lot of truth to your reply! I had high expectations of the top end pull improving substantially. In the pursuit of that expectation becoming a reality I did overlook the good small improvements they made. Overall I think it’s solid, I was just hoping for a Plaid go kart 🤗

    DWS06+ or PS4AS or FK460

Oh wow that is great feedback, thank you! How is the tire noise on the PSAS4 as it wears? I’m on the fence between the DWS06+ and the PSAS4’s but the main thing for me would be tire noise as they wear!

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

This man is saying what we’re all thinking…the new M3P is a huge let down. One can argue the opposite “rationalizing your purchase for a new car” but at the end of the day we all wanted more top end power and this release doesn’t have it…
  42. canasion35

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

I’d go for the S Plaid. The highland model 3 P just fell flat in terms of performance over the older M3P. I was hoping for like plaid top end acceleration (or close to it) but sigh. Tesla failed the assignment. Just a new front lip, rear spoiler, “active” dampers, seats, and wheels😓

I was shook by how much the damping and spring rates changed how the car handled. It felt like a new car that was WAY more capable in every regard. No shade towards the Tein’s, they were just a tad too soft spring rate wise and the damping curve wasn’t sufficient with the single way adjustment...

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

The KW setup is honestly night and day (good thing) compared to the Teins. Love these KW’s damping, it’s just on another level.

Hey guys - looking to see if anyone has first hand experience on any of these tires in the snow. We’re planning a roadtrip from FL to UT in early December and anticipating a decent amount of snow that we may have to get through. Anyone from that UT area that could opine on snow amounts around...
