Charging at home at 16 amps instead of 32

That means you’re getting the “high temp at input outlet” error code. Kind of makes sense it only happens after continuous charging and things heat up. Maybe your wiring has loosened over time. So check your outlet or/and the plug/pigtail on your UMC...

Tesla Solar Panel Design issue (placement of panels)

Did Tesla tell you that the ideal direction for modules (panels) to face is South (#1), East or West (#2), and lastly North. You can try going to PVWatts to estimate your production. Solar modules (panels) are like Tesla car batteries; they degrade over time and are most efficient at optimal...

How to make sure my new Tesla account works?

You’ll need to search for each item individually, and not search for “legacy issues” verbatim. That was a figure of speech. Good luck

Solaredge Optimizer Failed, Tesla say not covered under warranty

Inverter is listed but not optimizer? Dang that sucks… so optimizer will be covered by solaredge but it looks like you’re on the hook for the labor and for them to roll a truck (site visit).

How to make sure my new Tesla account works?

And OP, since you’re new to Tesla and this is a 2013 MS P60, you’ll want to do a deep-dive into the legacy issues on the drive unit, battery, MCU, etc. These topics have been discussed at length on TMC; a search would help. If the preventative maintenance and upgrades have been completed, you’re...

How to make sure my new Tesla account works?

After every charging session, the invoice is available in the Tesla app, or online on the website. Wherever you’re charging now, your supercharger costs are probably being billed to someone else 😂 And not all SC costs are the same; you’ll need to look it up on the in-car nav or the app.
  10. K

How to make sure my new Tesla account works?

It’s not the charger, but most likely your car. Sounds like your MCU and modem have not been updated/upgraded? Expired certificates? So the vehicle is unable to connect with Tesla. As for the charging speed, the veteran MS owners can opine more on it, but its an 11-yr old car; any limitations...

Solaredge Optimizer Failed, Tesla say not covered under warranty

What does your PV system agreement with Tesla say, regarding parts and labor? The optimizer (part) should be under warranty. For that, Tesla needs to work with SolarEdge for a RMA and replacement part. Labor however, depends on what you signed up for and your paperwork when you bought the system.

Tesla model Y service taking a long time to get parts!

You will need to check your own country’s consumer laws to see what remedies are available to you. This site (TMC) is not affiliated with Tesla in any way; this is an enthusiast’s forum. that means, no one officially from Tesla is going to hear or know what you’re going through from here...

    Tesla ownership in Panama?

What year, what trim Model X? There are no Tesla showrooms or service centers in Central or South America. You’ll be totally on your own for any issues or updates. Pretty sure there are grey market imports, but personally, there are too many unknowns involved and you’ll get zero help from...

Tesla Solar Panel Design issue (placement of panels)

So… this is the typical Tesla experience unfortunately. You have to be the project manager and drive things. And you really, really need to know what you’re buying and what you’re signing up for. Tesla does not like projects with complications or special needs; thus the much lower price point...

    HV battery Hose connector damage

GFCI in mobile connector keeps tripping

Is your car still under the full manufacturer’s (Tesla) warranty? If it is, your UMC is covered and you can take it into a service center to be swapped out. Otherwise, it’ll be an out-of-pocket expense for you.
  24. K

    HV battery Hose connector damage

If there is damage to the HV battery, especially coolant lines, the SC will not repair. Standard procedure is to replace the HV battery. Your options are to file an insurance claim or find a third party willing/able to help… though this may void your HV battery warranty. Probably already is in...

How many service visits in 6 months of ownership is too many before asking for a buyback

Simply speaking, manufacturer buybacks are between you and the manufacturer only, no attorneys involved. You will have to be your own PM and advocate at this point. Invoking the lemon law, courts, arbitration or other such legal proceeding, is a much lengthier process and Tesla will immediately...

How many service visits in 6 months of ownership is too many before asking for a buyback

I forgot who posted it, but it wasn’t too long ago that several folks shared their buyback process. I think a couple had it approved quickly, then it took weeks/months of follow-ups for Tesla to pickup the car and/or to make payments as agreed upon. From Tesla’s perspective, buybacks are way...

How many service visits in 6 months of ownership is too many before asking for a buyback

You’re probably better off contacting a lemon law lawyer, and see what kind of case you have. A buyback would be totally dependent on the Tesla-machine’s timeline and processes.

Replace damaged MCU 2020 Model 3

OP - has your shop worked with Tesla’s before, and have they installed aftermarket accessories like these before, in similar Tesla’s? Because if they haven’t, I’d say it’s on them for frying your MCU. Tesla’s can’t be treated like legacy manufacturer cars… As a high-tech company, I’d be...

Will 0.99% come to Model S?

No. Sales of the S/X doesn’t move the needle much, if at all. Miserly 4-5% of total sales YTD… And Elon needs to sell as many cars as possible asap https://ir.tesla.com/press-release/tesla-vehicle-production-deliveries-and-date-financial-results-webcast-first-quarter-2024

    System down - production compensation

I’m curious to see/hear - does OP have a production guarantee? Who is the installer? Purchased or leased? What size is the system and how old is it? Able to quantify the losses? That starting info will tell if you’ve got something to go on or if it’s dead in the water. Side note: I do check...

How does it work when Leased car is totaled?

Yes, most leases now are written where you should have no liability due after insurance payouts. Verify with your lease agreement. Only the insurance companies can make a final determination if the vehicle is to be totaled. Whether you work thru the at-fault driver’s insurance or your own...

    Is premium paint more durable?

Thinking about a used 2022 Model Y, a few questions

Not all ‘22s are built the same; you’ll want to verify the options you must have are actually on the vehicle. Tesla pushes hardware/software updates on their schedule, not by model year. And Tesla won’t release prior service records where/when you’re not the owner. Haven’t seen low regen in a...

99% of the time it’s road hazard (e.g. Nail, potholes, screws, sharp objects, damaged rim, damaged stem valve, etc). Not covered by Tesla nor tire warranties. Model S warranty outside US

Warranties are region/location specific, and non-transferable; they are not global. It looks like you have a grey market/third party imported MS? At least Tesla will work on it and you have some support… the worst case is that Tesla refuses to even touch it (i.e. salvage vehicle).

    Refused delivery on MYP
