TACC doesn't work correctly after the 2024.14.8 update

I don’t know if this still works, but you used to be able to contact Tesla Support by phone at (877) 798-3752. You also used to be able to contact them online, but that option went away a couple of years ago.

    FSD Transfer

As far as I know, the last FSD Transfer promotion ended on March 31. If you’re not in a hurry, you could wait and see if Tesla offers it again, maybe even this month since it’s the end of Q2.

Should i receive phone notifications from sentry?

I based my comment on a previous post, but I think you’re right, you can’t view Sentry clips from the phone (unless the alarm state gets triggered).

Ordered a Used 2021 MY; will I regret not getting a 2022 or later?

If you’re already having buyer’s remorse, then cancel your order and get what will make you happy. :) Also, consider a new MY which gets you the tax credit, if you have some flexibility on the price.

Opt out of FSD Beta to start getting updates

You missed my point. When the FSD Beta started, you had to request access, and if you didn’t your FSD was the “non-Beta” version, which was basically EAP with a few additions. Now all versions of FSD are the City Streets version. Are you defining “Early Access FSD’ers” as anyone who requested...

Should i receive phone notifications from sentry?

You can view the clips on your phone, but you don’t get notifications for alert events, only alarm events, which is what your screenshot shows. I get plenty of Sentry alerts in the car but never once received a notification from the app.

What changed in the week since you placed your order?

    MY Silver Gemini's Gone

I don’t know in your case, but sometimes Tesla fulfills the order as placed, other times they update the order. If you would prefer the dark wheels you could ask Tesla about it.

Opt out of FSD Beta to start getting updates

There’s no Beta track anymore, so nothing to opt out of. All versions of FSD are FSD Supervised, which is the new name for FSD Beta. The spring update includes the latest FSD, so having FSD won’t prevent you from getting the new build (when it’s your turn).
  10. EVRider-FL

Why no FSD (supervised) for those cars stuck on software branch 2024.8.9?

No, but Tesla hasn’t pushed 2024.14.x to either of our cars. Both are still on 2024.3.25. Lots of other owners in the same boat.
  11. EVRider-FL

Sport mode gone on model s?

The OP didn’t say which year they had, but they said they had sport mode before and now they don’t.
  13. EVRider-FL

Sport mode gone on model s?

Sure there was, and it’s still documented in the manual: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/models/en_us/GUID-43B58CAD-3DB7-4421-BFCA-0E921B6F731D.html The LR had Chill, Sport, and Insane. I probably still have those since I’m still on 2024.3.25, I’ll check in my car later.

    twitchy wiper behavior

Maybe replace the wiper blades? Looks like they’re sticking.
  15. EVRider-FL

Is the new Model 3 “Highland” sufficiently different to warrant its on Forum?

It’s no more different from its predecessor than the latest S/X are from their predecessors, so no in my opinion.
  16. EVRider-FL

Can you use TACC while having FSD turned on in settings?

It was an intentional change, but many would consider it a bug. If Summon is available, you might be able to use it even if you disable FSD, but I’m not sure. Why should Tesla let you use other FSD features without enabling FSD?
  17. EVRider-FL

New Tesla model 3 on 2024.08.09 software

2024.8.9 is not at all old. Many of us are on 2024.3.x or 2024.8.x builds. You’ll probably get one of the 2024.14.x builds when Tesla schedules your car for an update. You can’t update the car until Tesla decides it’s your turn. Don’t worry about it.
  18. EVRider-FL

    Model Y 5G wifi

Mosey Y? :) The car should be able to connect to 5G. See this section of the manual for details: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/GUID-1FE9620C-3D7F-4FD3-BBD9-28DD342AC150.html
  19. EVRider-FL

Can you use TACC while having FSD turned on in settings?

You must have FSD v11. FSD v12 doesn’t let you enable double click, at least here in the US, so you can’t use TACC. If you update your software and get FSD v12, you’ll lose TACC unless you disable FSD, as I suggested in my first reply.

Anyone know what Tesla has been doing with the Phoenix radar so far in HW4 vehicles

I think you have it backwards. Park Assist shows distances only when using USS, and does not show them with Tesla Vision. We have two Teslas without USS, and neither one shows distances. Our previous Teslas had USS and showed distances. That said, I think the Tesla Vision Park Assist works well...

    Minor accident using autopilot

Basic Autopilot isn’t meant to be used off the highway. Sorry you had to learn the hard way. As noted above, sensors wouldn’t have made any difference. Even with FSD, the car won’t detect and avoid small objects in the roadway.
  22. EVRider-FL

Can you use TACC while having FSD turned on in settings?

You can’t use TACC while FSD is enabled, but you can create a second driver profile without FSD and switch between them as needed. Do you have the FSD trial? What did you have before? I don’t know if Summon is even working currently.

FSD warning: huge hotspot data hog

Gotcha. So your theory is that FSD is seeing the WiFi connection and using it to upload data?

Anyone know what Tesla has been doing with the Phoenix radar so far in HW4 vehicles

I might be wrong, but I thought HW4 only included Phoenix radar in the S and X.

Is update tech a real thing?
  26. EVRider-FL

    2024.9.5

Not exactly. Whether or not you got the free FSD trial, if you install 2014.9.5, you won’t get the spring update as quickly. At this point 2024.9.5 is only going to Tesla employees, so you don’t need to worry about it yet.

TACC doesn't work correctly after the 2024.14.8 update

Since it’s very likely a software issue, Tesla Service won’t be able to do anything for you. Just hope the next update fixes it. Why don’t you trust Autosteer? I’ve been using it for 8 years and it works great for me.

How to know what software your car should have

You didn’t say which software version you have now. There’s no way to know which version your car “should” have, because Tesla doesn’t update cars that way. Tesla decides when your car should get an update and which version, and two identical cars might get different versions. Is your Model Y...

    Value of FSD on resale

No, but Tesla has offered the FSD transfer promotion twice as a sales incentive, in Q3 last year and Q1 this year. It may or may not happen again, but there was no change to the policy.

Vacation Condo Vehicle; Lost Phone Key connection, now can't control charging/security/etc

I believe removing the phone key under Controls > Locks is the issue, so when you’re back from your trip, set up the phone key again and disable it from the app as I did. Doesn’t matter whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, or some other mobile device.

FSD 12 reading interstate minimum speed sign

I’ve been on a road trip the last 2 days, heading ftom FL to New England, and I’ve experienced the misreading of 40mph minimum speed signs as speed limits. I’m using 2024.3.25 which has FSD v12.3.6. When this happens, the car says something like “maintaining speed for traffic flow” so it doesn’t...

Vacation Condo Vehicle; Lost Phone Key connection, now can't control charging/security/etc

How did you turn off the phone key? After I set it up, I disabled it under the Security & Drivers section of the app, and I still have my controls. App version 4.33.0 on iOS. I did NOT delete the phone key in the car under Controls > Locks.

Vacation Condo Vehicle; Lost Phone Key connection, now can't control charging/security/etc

Yes, Tesla changed the app last year so that certain control features are disabled if the device is not configured as a phone key. You can set up the device as a phone key to get those features, then disable the phone key setting but keep all the features. That’s what I had to do on my iPad.

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

Yes, that’s how you have to do it. It would be nice if you could initiate a turn, especially if you’re just using AP without navigation, but currently you can’t do that.
  42. EVRider-FL

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

Yes, but the OP said they were on a single-lane highway so I assume it was out in the open.

what's the subscription FSD rate for people with existing EAP?

Not really, because if you already have EAP you can buy FSD for $2k rather than $8k.

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

When using FSD, you can’t force it to make a turn using the turn signal, the turn has to be on the navigation route. Can you elaborate on #1? I’ve never seen the GPS signal error message in 8 years of Tesla ownership. Navigation, and therefore FSD, uses GPS. I wasn’t aware that there were any...

    Charging Status in Tesla App

I’d like to learn more about this. Are you logging data being sent from the car to the Tesla server? While I agree that it isn’t necessary for the car to broadcast continuously (and I don’t know if it does), I could see where the car might broadcast the charging status at certain intervals, so...
  47. EVRider-FL

    Charging Status in Tesla App

Yes, the car transmits charging status as long as it can reach the internet by any means. Bluetooth is not used for that or most other app features, it’s generally just used for opening the car (phone key) and pairing your phone for calls and media streaming.
  48. EVRider-FL

That’s the current price for cars that already have EAP. The price was lowered about a month ago.
  49. EVRider-FL

    reliability

Not sure why your thread title is “reliability,” but if you hated the FSD trial, why did you keep using it? If you wanted to use basic AP, you could have turned off FSD.
  50. EVRider-FL

    reliability

That’s coming in FSD v12.4 (2024.9.x), but I think that’s only gone to Tesla employees so far. I rarely get the steering wheel nag in the current software, but I know that isn’t typical.
