Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yah. I agree with some of that. I have no doubt tesla will be successful. But I also believe it is shifting away from cars. I would be surprised to see two new models the rest of this decade. And there doesn’t appear to be much interest in new markets. Re superchargers, I’m sure they will end...

Got up close and personal with a Cybertruck today. Way smaller in person. I like it. Wife loves it. We’ll keep our reservation but when the time comes we’ll probably still get a model X. Until then we’ll continue to drive the wheels off the Y.

I’m not sure I see the point on voting again on his pay package. The judge didn’t like it the first time and thought he was paid to much. Why would that change with another vote. It appears it’s ultimately her decision what he will be paid. Weird.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed. I would guess in 2030 tesla will be producing similar or marginally more vehicles than it is now. I think storage will become the main business. And I doubt they will be in the supercharger business within 3 years.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe. Because I have been following the planned sites on supercharger.info since the big lay off and the number of planned sites has been steadily dropping although they are probably dropping because more are under construction. Others are completed.

Not noticing any new “in planning” sites on the supercharge.info site since the layoffs. Are new sites not being planned?

Hi folks. I would have thought with all the NEVI money tesla would be pushing for more supercharger sites. Is there a better site to see where new sites are being planned or has there actually been a complete stop to new sites. The planned number on supercharger.info just keeps dropping. Cheers.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think there are still lots of untapped markets for tesla. Kinda wondering what’s happening in Chile. I thought they were going to expand there but other than a showroom I don’t see any superchargers going in. Also noticed no new sites being announced on the supercharger info site, or at...

What batteries are current Austin model Y’s using?

    Model Y Brake Controller

Here you go. And notice the input on the Victron us 8 - 17 volts. So cigarette lighter thingy in on left. Trailer plug out on the right. The only difference is you would cut into the wiring on the trailer, do a plug with ground so you can unhook it when you unhook the trailer. Or...

    Model Y Brake Controller

There is no reason that wouldn’t work. We built a little 12 volt to 12 volt charging unit so it would put a decent charge on the trailer battery if we got in a dry camping situation where we ran the battery down. On the 12 volt teslas like our 2022 the voltage on the charge pin is only around 13...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That is good news of course, but I wonder how many will be in the US and Canada as those were the target teams for dismissal. I haven’t seen any indication of new permits on the supercharger.info site since the dismissal event…or maybe I don’t know how to read it. Not an expert.

Thanks. Encouraging. At this rate I suspect they will be past combined production of Rivian, Lightning and Silverado soon. 👍

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I skimmed it looking for a Cybertruck daily production estimate but didn’t catch it. Did he talk about that?

Did Tesla really lay off their entire Supercharger staff

Yes I understood that. It’s just the rollout seems to be taking more time than it should.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Kinda nice actually. What happened to them?
  17. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Did they happen to mention what daily production is now for Cybertruck?
  18. W

Did Tesla really lay off their entire Supercharger staff

Ah ok. Thanks. I saw an article that indicated only 7 locations had been built in two years. I suspect at best they’ll double that in the next 8 months.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

For awhile there was a drone guy that would regularly fly over the Texas factory and get a feel for daily cyber truck production. I haven’t seen anything for awhile from him. Anyone seen anything on this front?

Did Tesla really lay off their entire Supercharger staff

Not an American so not sure how this works. Polls indicate that the republicans will be elected this time around. Will the NEVI money just disappear when that happens? Thanks.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m kind of of that mind as well. I doubt Elon deliberately lies. He is overly optimistic and wrong…a lot. I used to be more of a fan. Not so much anymore. I struggle with balancing his past contributions to the company to the obvious damage he is doing to its image now. And is it really...

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Good morning. I’m curious on the source of the 36000. Actually more curious on a provincial number break out. Thanks.

Yah probably. I think it might be more of a Canadian eccentricity. Still kinda funny. 😄 It’s all good. I’m sure they’ll figure it out.

Did a lot of around town driving today, and as per usual tried to use FSD supervised as much as possible. I can’t help but wonder if the flashing green advanced arrow — is either a much bigger problem to solve than we think — or because all the NN training is done in the US they are still not...

Let’s hope. But I don’t see Giga Mexico happening. Not unless there is a new smaller model. And that I think is at least for now off the table. Jmho.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think 8 million is pie in the sky. Maybe 3 or 4 million. And that’s only if they expand quickly into untapped markets like South America. The ticket will be finding markets where they don’t associate Tesla with Elon. That’s just the way it is now. At some point even tesla will have to...

    Western Canada Superchargers

If your car is CCS ready get a CCS adapter. Otherwise the Chademo is fine albeit max 50 KW. We have both. There are tons of CCS and Chademo chargers all thru this mountains including one at the visitors centre in Yoho at field. We have used them all at some point over the last 4 years. We...

No idea. In the old days it was rare to have to convince someone to go tesla. It was THE brand. Now it’s just the opposite. As long as they have access to the supercharger network they don’t care. So I usually just recommend ford then as they are available everywhere here and with lots of...

    Western Canada Superchargers

No idea. But there are a number of similar length routes to get there. But if it was me I would go thru the kootenays. Cranbrook, Invermere, Golden. Kelowna would be way out of the way. Are you going that route to see the sites? If so it’s a beautiful route but longer. There are tons of DC...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yep. Around here we have lots of people considering an EV for their next vehicle. We often get asked questions. Even offer a test drive. But it stops there because although they are sure they will be buying an EV next it definitely won’t be a Tesla because of Elon. It’s just the way it is now...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Speaking of which. I occasionally check to see if there are any new superchargers in Chile. There are still zero. That surprises me as I thought with the building of a showroom there it was an indication of a future or new market. Thoughts?

At least so far I haven’t seen any of the coming soon pins dissspesr from the tesla site map. Fingers crossed. We have a few gaps up here yet. At least for us pulling trailers. 😂
  41. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m not concerned about it. He gets things done. I’m more curious about the plan and strategy going forward. V2 to V3 upgrades. More trailer stalls. And as Elon pointed out there will continue to be some gap filling going on no doubt. I think people will relax a bit when new sites or...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

    Western Canada Superchargers

I noticed that Keremeos is still on the map for coming soon on the Tesla site. Either that means it’s still coming or there is no one at Tesla to update the site with cancellations. Actually I haven’t noticed any cancelations yet.

Hi again Dewg. No luck finding that. Maybe it’s only when on autopilot and not on FSD.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Typically 90 kph. 320 to 380 wh per kilometre but lots of variables there. Heads up. Those towing the boondock version get less efficiency as it’s 3 inches higher. Also hard to hitch up as it involves a riser etc. The non boondock is flat and level with a 2 inch riser.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

We haven’t had any problem charging in campgrounds. But a couple things. Where we are 50 amp is kinda rare. We charge a lot from a 30 amp plug (so max 24 amps at 120 volts). We plug in either the car or the trailer not both and we tell the operators that. Some campgrounds do a forced upgrade...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Curious how the NEVI sites that Tesla was selected to build will play out now. Will Tesla build a new leaner more efficient team and gitterdun or will it just cede those sites to another charge chain. I’m surprised Elon hasn’t addressed this in more detail on X. Not even a whisper out there in a...
