Possibly, the symbol search was failing with a link to TDAmeritrade so they may be using it as the source.

I didn't read it as @Knightshade's own point of view, but rather that the two option they listed are counter to each other. Yeah, and that that fits with the 'easy' argument on the training side where easy doesn't mean fast or resource independent. It is easy to move a pile of small rocks one...

Or option 3: It's not worth the time/effort to cross port 12.4 to Cybertruck when 12.5 is going to be arriving shortly thereafter.

Blog Boring Company Opens Vegas Loop

Right, a few more cars and more spots, not insurmountable, just logistical. The convention center already has automated gates for vehicles to leave the loop for the streets, so not a big problem.

Blog Boring Company Opens Vegas Loop

Latency != throughput If loading/ unloading tajes lobger, plan more loading/unloading spots. Tunnel capacity remains unchanged Above ground stations do not take much space, especially with minimal luggage. Station could be separated from entrance with the vehicle joining tye normal queue.

Commercial Crew Transportation Capability (CCtCap) SpaceX and Boeing Developments

Sure. The issue is a dual failure of adjacent thusters. The odds of that occurring are low, but the failure mode is definitely able to be discovered in the planning stages.

You're misunderstanding their current portfolio size. It's not 50,000*1064/30%=$177 million (or $17.7 million if you are talking post split NVDA).

Something doesn't add up. They are willing to wait, but are looking at a Lightning or R1T because of better price, range, and features? Lightning extended pack Lariat: Nearly indentical range Costs more (before IRA credit, 2025 is a ???) Less payload, less towing, and a shorter bed No rear...

    SpaceX Starship - IFT-4 - Starbase TX - Pre-Launch Preparations Thread

Right, it is removed before Ship gets stacked. I'm hypothesizing that the extra mass could also help compress the theoretically springs when placing the hot ring on the booster. If the net spring force was > ring mass * gravity (> 1g separation acceleration), then having that would be needed to...

Important clarification: On a lease, you do not get a $7,500 credit, Tesla gets the clean commercial vehicle credit and reduced your payments accordingly. Therefore, it has no impact on your ability to get another discounted lease. Had you purchased the car and gotten the 30D New Clean Vehicle...

Trimotor was $20k more than AWD at reveal (same as now). $20k for a dual motor rear drive unit vs single and 50% more cell capacity didn't/ doesn't seem unreasonable. Range Extender as a separate unit is estimated at $16k. So if trimotor was unreasonable, weren't AWD and single as well since...

    SpaceX Starship - IFT-4 - Starbase TX - Pre-Launch Preparations Thread

Good points. Booster comes in at an angle to the air, so it might lever the ring off like opening a bottle? However, separation is only 2 seconds after end of boostback burn, so that is a low air density environment... Could the addition of pusher springs be an additional reason for the cover...
  26. M

    SpaceX Starship - IFT-4 - Starbase TX - Pre-Launch Preparations Thread

Starship payload change doesn't reduce terminal velocity of the booster. There is no shielding burn for reentry so it's all drag vs mass. Jettison should only require releasing the three clamps while airflow travels up the booster. Which is probably part of why they don't/ can't do it earlier...
  27. M

    SpaceX Starship - IFT-4 - Starbase TX - Pre-Launch Preparations Thread

Boostback doesn't need to go the normal distance so that can sacrifice some performance, but landing burn could be more impacted by the extra 10ish tons.

I don't see LOX freezing, but aren't the autogenous feeds post combustion in which case they contain some amount of water? If it only a heat exchanger and runs boiled oxygen back to the tank, it's a non issue.

Humm... the boiling point of nitrogen is 23 C higher than the freezing point of oxygen. Hard to see how it would freeze, especially with autogenous pressuruzation. Maybe the pressurization gas has moisture from the turbo preburner and that water ice clogs things?

Then what were you referring to by "early access to delivery"? The dates I gave are compatible with being sold out in 2024 if you allow the new orders to bump current orders. There is also the dynamic of the quantity needed to sell out 2024 increases as production rate improves; so it could...

AWD on the longer range tires with locked in FSD pricing (or not, only $1k difference now, can also go subscription) and IRA New Clean Vehicle Credit does seem to be the sweet spot. Our Beast is a YOLO/ midlife crisis purchase. Plus we have no Powerwalls so will be maxing out the Powershare...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Are you referring to the long term shareholder early order? First off, Tesla isn't going through reservations sequentially, so the 10% 50k/500k number is suspect. Oh, Beast is a real model and as a shareholder I'm glad they are selling high option/ margin version to whomever wants one first during the ramp. Once they hit their stride, the lower price point/ lower content versions can be sold at positive margins. Additionally, this allows them to gauge...
