Sure. And find out there are firmware issues over the years like the aftermarket 12v lipo batteries? That won’t go over well my wife at all. There is a saying about happy wife…
... there is always the possibility of a short squall or extended downpour. Adapt with an umbrella or move indoors or meet it head on 'till it passes. And ... compromise ....

It’s easy. She keeps her 2018 model 3 and when it’s beyond repairable she shops for something she likes (and that probably includes stalks).

I was trying to nudge her to a new car as we’re past warranty and there are good deals to be found.

Has she test driven a car w/o stalks? I didn’t find it as bad as I thought I would (and on the highway wouldn’t care at all).

Same with the Cybertruck's pointlessly pointy design. Musk chose it because he thinks it looks "badass." He's wrong, or is at least in the tiny, tiny % of people who like the design rather than think it's silly. As a result of its, shall we say, idiosyncratic design, scores more people refuse to buy rather than are enticed to buy.
Agree with all your other points, however I think the CT looks are exactly what is needed.
Why? About 20 years ago Dodge introduced a truck design that did a away with the boxy front end, looked a little more like a semi-truck. It turned out to be extremely polarizing, some despised it, but more loved it! Ram truck sales sored!

In a few words, most people want to look a lot different, especially if you spend a lot of $$$, that is how the fashion world works.

Here is a different perspective:
Tesla is very easy to spot. Hyundai EV's are also easy to spot (Ioniq 5 more so than 6). BMW i3, all easy to spot.
It gets harder with Chevy Bolt, looks like other small cars.
Then you get things like Volvo cars, Nissan Ariya (and new Leaf), F-150 Lightning they just look so much like ICE cars will miss if not looking closely.
Then at the extreme is the BMW i7. This is the exact same body, trim, and interior as the BMW 740. EXACT SAME! If I was going to pay 50% more for the BEV, I absolutely want it to look different!!

CT is (and Rivian) are spot on Truck designs for BEV.

Four years ago I thought Elon Musk was the next Steve Jobs. The guy has been such a disappointment. Not only has he hurt Tesla, his latest antics have hurt the entire EV industry in the US and I suspect given China an upper hand.
Exactly agree. Both Brilliant, but Steve Jobs “kept to himself”. Even when he was dying, he was just trying to pass it off as a hormone imbalance, and worked up until he could not anymore. He potentially had so much Megaphone power, but only used it to promote and talk about his products and the specific industry related to his products. In addition,,Customer service and product quality was extremely important to his brand (and still is today). I as owner of both a 2023 M3 and 2023 MX (coming from a BMW IX 50), Its incredible to see the poor quality after all these years. One might argue that Telsa was the only game in town for years and did not need to worry about it. However, when the Iphone was the only game in town,,quality and service was still impeccable.. Imagine if Steve Jobs would have had Elon’s vision before him for EVs. would have been amazing

After 4 months without turn signal stalks on our newest X, I still frequently hit the wrong button. And, I’ve been driving Teslas for almost 10 years now.
I can totally see that and on surface streets (where the wheel is often rotated much further) it would be nearly impossible to give the correct directional w/o looking at the buttons; I can’t even really skip a song I don’t like while making a series of turns and the wheel rotated.

Rivian looks like every other truck aside from its headlights…and I might add it looks very nice (unlike CT).
Agree it looks more like traditional truck than CT, but it is much more distinct than others.
A couple years ago one of the news groups (cant find it :( ) quizzed people to ID truck with maker, and most participants were unable to match them.
Rivian is visually unique, even the rear with that across the tailgate light (IIRC no other truck has that)

I am not crazy about CT, not a truck driver, but if given to me I would be quite happy to drive it around (although still gripe it has no stalks)
