Model X plastic parts resonate with bass...

Reviving this old thread as I just spent a few hours trying to kill rattles, squeaks and pops in the FWDs and rear trim areas. Ended up using sound mat for the sub area, felt tape everywhere, removing panels and replacing missing clips, and in some cases buying good quality used trim parts from...

    Faulty Onboard Gen 3 Charger

Old-ish thread, but can the XS 1-1 onboard charger just be repaired via fuses? If so, where can I find the fuse PNs and order to repair my XS 1-1 in my '17 MX? I'd rather do that than spend $300-$600 on an ebay unit.

    Onboard charger needs replacing

Quick update - I opened the panel myself and found it's XS-1-1, so version 1. I just need to track down one on ebay and then go through the fun of installing it. Thanks to the Tesla service manual, it shouldn't be that hard, but the removal of the rear lower skid plates to disconnect the main...

Disassemble middle (2nd) row bucket seat to fix seat belt?

I've yet to try this on my twisted seat belt, but here was a video I just found. I'm skeptical because it looks like the guy just fake-twisted it and then did this pull and release to make it "appear" that it worked. X Seatbelt Twist Fix (Supposedly)

    Onboard charger needs replacing

It shows 48A every time, then kicks down to 40A when functioning properly on my home 14-50 NEMA using the gen 1 mobile charger. Now, as stated above, it appears at 40A, then flips to 24A with no up arrow to increase. I would have expected the car to show a notification of failure or some kind...

Compiled List of Tesla Option/Production/Manufacturing/ Codes

I was able to see all cars in the one data dump, so it worked out.

Compiled List of Tesla Option/Production/Manufacturing/ Codes

Disregard this - I looked at the page again and it actually lists all cars, it's just jumbled together so you have to search for each VIN area in the mess of code.

Compiled List of Tesla Option/Production/Manufacturing/ Codes

If you own more than one Tesla, this link doesn't work for every car, only the first one on your account. We have three and a previously-owned car, but the link only brings up our very first 2015 MS. Any way to actually see the other cars?

    Replace Gen3 onboard 48A charger with 72A

I'm curious as well as I'm about to have to replace my MX onboard charger on my 2017 (July 2018 build) 100D due to failure last night. If I can go to 72A, my electrician will come out for $400 and rerun the proper gauge wire and replace the breaker to allow higher charging. However, I don't know...

    Onboard charger needs replacing

Reviving this thread as my 2017 (July 2018 build) Model X 100D just had the 24A reduction failure last night. Details: Plugged in and scheduled for departure. 14-50 NEMA on a 50A breaker (professionally installed). Using mobile charger (older gen 1 from my MX and MS). Woke up to no charging and...

MCU1 -> MCU2, FSD Computer with updated cameras on Legacy X. “Update BETA in route!”

Doubtful. When I did the MCU2 upgrade they also replaced the dash screen because apparently the first version won't do the FSD visualization. Now that it's been about a month, I have noticed that my app no longer shows my Tesla Insurance "Scoring Factors" and I'm not able to see each trip's...

The threshold of forward collision warning seems to be intentionally lowered to increase insurance fee

Can’t disable, only turn off audible notification. Your personal Tesla insurance will still be dinged as FCWs still do their thing whether you hear them or not. We’ve been struggling with our MY going crazy on FCWs since a software update around Feb 20. She drives like a granny and has held a...

MCU1 -> MCU2, FSD Computer with updated cameras on Legacy X. “Update BETA in route!”

Just got back from picking up my '17 MX with FSD computer and all the upgrades, but didn't have MCU2. FSD Beta had been pending for 3 months and was told it was rolling out "slowly for MCU1" equipped cars, so just wait. Decided to get the MCU2 upgrade and of course there is FSD Beta, in all its...

    Phantom Braking misunderstanding

That was not the same spot I referenced. The I-70 through Kansas is not the same location as the place where the speed limit on TACC adjusted from my set 70 mph to 50 mph, then 65 the next time. This location is in a busy area of south Denver metro area (C-470 and Santa Fe), while the...

    Phantom Braking misunderstanding

Hasn't happened in that spot since, and I drive it every day and put on autosteer just to check. In fact, a couple of longer drives from my home to the airport on a highway went well - no issues.
