    X: What's your 90%?

We’re at 290mi at 90%, or 322mi at 100%. Brand new was 351mi, so that’s roughly 9% less than new. 76,711mi on the odometer. I’m sure if I ran some calibrations and balancing it’d improve a bit, too. No complaints.

    Tesla software

Incorrect. Both of those will never override a driver input. They will take action when there isn’t any, but if the driver takes action the driver wins every time. For example - AEB. If the driver presses on the accelerator, it’ll disengage and the vehicle will accelerate. All ties go to...

2013 Model S Dead Battery and no Keys

I’d presume you’re in at least a new battery for that. So $5k + $15k = $20k at a minimum. Question is …. Is a 2014 Model S with a fresh battery worth $20k? That’s really a question that’s up to you…. Bear in mind - if you get supremely lucky and the battery is OK, it could be the deal of...

Anyone still use the auto homelink garage door opener?

Why would it cause damage? Unless someone isn't paying attention, they should be able to stop if they notice the garage door isn't where they want it to be (up or down).

    About Insurance Rates

We're a 25+ year customer with State Farm (which means we're old ... LOL), accident free and zero tickets/points. In a safe neighborhood, extremely low crime rate and off-street parking. All those things are net positives. On the net negative side, NJ isn't exactly known for low insurance...

    About Insurance Rates

Yikes. My Model S was $832/6 months as of our February 2024 renewal. With State Farm. Just replaced the S with a Rivian R1S, so curious to see how that prices out relative to the Model S. Will let you all know.

Model S - Changes over the past 3 years

I’m about to trade in my S Refresh LR (2021) on a R1S Friday. Low $40s was the best offer I could find. Car’s yours if you want it by then and match the tradein. :)

Tesla Delivery experience lacking in customer service

Unfortunately I don’t know what’s changed with the layoffs, but Paramus has historically been one of the best delivery centers. That said …. I have a Rivian R1S on order. Read into that what you will.

    HW2.5 to HW3 Upgrade | Crashing Woes

My guess (and it's only a guess!) is that they pinched a wire or wiring harness when upgrading the computer from HW2.5 to HW3. It's in a bit of a tricky spot under the dash and would be easy enough to do.

    No Cabin Air Filter

There’s no “damage” to speak of. It’s purely a quality-of-life thing.

POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR

It's a different vibration than this one for sure, but I just swapped my summer tires & Gemini wheels back on ... and have a tire vibration again. It was nice driving all winter without it - I'm going to have to take my wheels in for a balancing and roundness check.

    Plaid Sport Bucket Seats

If only that were true. Jan 2023 - purchase used 2021 Model S. Took even more deprecation hit than new cars did. Worth less than half that now. New only for me from now on. No sense dealing with used issues, growing pain issues and taking such a depreciation hit in the process.

    Plaid Sport Bucket Seats

I'll never buy a used car again. My '21 Model S LR is the first used car I bought since being a poor college kid, and it was a mistake. It's taken me a year to shake the demons from my Model S LR. Nothing major, just small stuff that's needed adjusting, correcting and silencing. But I still...
