The probable reason you're getting the warning is because the HV battery was replaced. Your original battery didn’t have the pyrofuse that had the limited life. The new battery they put in has the pyrofuse that has its own battery and has a finite lifetime.

I don't know how long it actually takes since I did it at the same time as other service that was held up waiting on a part but there were zero problems afterwards and it actually fixed a couple of annoying issues. This is a great upgrade and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I've used Gen 3's on my 2014 at hotels without issue. There are also two versions of Gen 1, I believe the problem of it not working on newer cars is only the original version. I have a Gen 1 v2 and it works fine on newer cars.

Not really, it depends on the location and layout of the chargers and whether there's space to actually form a cue line. A lot if times cars will just park in view of the station and it's up to you to notice who was there before you and just grab a spot when those before you have gotten a spot...
