    CleanCam rear camera washer

Using small 12/16g CO2 cartridges might be an idea. Tiny. Cheap. Replaceable. Provides enough pressure for a bunch of uses. Not enough to be a hazard. Its funny the internet has all the lores about why Teslas are bad but in years of operation my primary gripe with the car is having to clean...

    Quick 4-month new MY report

Just did a convoy road trip with my old 3P and new YP both on OEM summer tires and standard pressures. YP has slightly worse efficiency, offset by less degradation on newer battery. They both get near identical results on a % basis. (similar numeric value start and finish). Meaning it drives...

My 2024 Quicksilver Model Y is here

That's about right. It's a liquidy silver when freshly washed and under high-contrast light (like bright sun). With a coating of dust or under flat lighting, it's quite gray.

    Tire Rotation Pattern?

Good example of bad practice due to appeal to authority. The recommendation for rotation has not to do with whether Tesla or Michelin made the recommendation, or whether the car is all-wheel drive. Tesla wrote that for "Directional Tires", they should not be swapped left<-->right. When you...

    Tire Rotation Pattern?

Tire rotation depends on tire sizes, design (symmetry or directionality), and more importantly the observed wear on the tire. If your jack has enough capacity and you can lift it enough to raise both tires. They dont need much clearance, anyway.

Help me decide Model Y performance or Model 3 performance

I have the camera button set as a permanent shortcut on the menu. Always can press at it to get a view behind the car. The way I like to think of the Y is that it doesnt give up any of the 3’s general handling characteristics/behavior. It only trades off the last 10% of dynamic performance in...

Help me decide Model Y performance or Model 3 performance

Lots of 20" tires with the Y-speed rating and in the required load rating. More than 21" for sure. The staggered size for 21" really reduces useful tire selection.

    Did I Just Get Unlucky?

-Sitting water/moisture in your vehicle is not good. Can cause mold and funk. Not sure where youre claiming the exact ingress, but for 3 it was simply excessive snow that fall into the trunk that I was too lazy to fully clean out. (Basically not a car problem, but a me problem). -Whistling is...

My 2024 Quicksilver Model Y is here

Well, i actually have a quicksilver MY, and I agree with the 3 other posters who have said separately that it looks like: magnesium, pewter, and gray. I still like it, of course. But it looks less like the bright silvery color thats implied by the name that most people would associate with.

On overcast days it looks like a gray-blue. (Im actually not a fan of that shade). In clear day light it looks steely/silver. The color on the car computer and phone app is multiple shades more blue than one expects.

    Servicing front brake callipers

Theres plenty of brake maintenance videos on youtube, and there are more on the standard cars than there are on the performance cars
