About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

Thanks for the input. I only had the X for one day, drove it maybe 50 miles. I find the Y to be very smooth (I'd been driving Mustangs and a Volt so maybe that's why) so that's interesting to hear. I don't think I'd be getting the refresh like your '22. The deals are with the '18s-'20s...

About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

Very curious to hear how you like it compared to your Y. I've been debating on getting a '19 Performance to replace my wife's car but I'm not sure if it will be a let down compared to a '23 Y. I have driven a '22 LR X before and thought it drove similar to a Y, it didn't feel much bigger to...

My 2024 Quicksilver Model Y is here

Happy they are adding colors but this is going to be a really low selling color, why spend 2k on this when you get the darker gray for $0? Maybe if it was 1k I could see some people choosing it just to be different. I may be a bit biased because I dislike sliver cars.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I have yet to drive the new M3P or a Model S. I did have a '22 X loaner and I didn't experience any of that. Was that a pre-refresh model?

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Even with the refresh the "dated" MS is a much better looking car IMO. I also wouldn't consider a 2.5 year old car, "old". Someone made an interesting point, about if I have a Y, I should get the S. That does concern me that they are too alike, not sure if anyone agrees with that...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

50K for a new M3P, 50k for a '21.5 MS w/ Arachnid wheels 33k miles, or 34k for a '22 M3P no options 21k miles. Don't really need the versatility of the S but definitely prefer the looks to either M3P. Not sold on the new M3P front headlights, hoping they'll grow on me. Which would you do...

    2019 Model S Raven vs 2024 M3P?

I hope we get more insight on this thread. I've actually been mulling over something similar, get a '21.5 model S with 30k miles and Arachnid wheels for 50k or '22 M3P no options 21k miles for 34k. I don't know that I need the practicality of the S since we have a Y, but hands down it's the...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Just too dull and too small. I actually liked the old lights, kind of Porsche-esque in my eyes. That being said, neither M3 is a looker IMO. I like the Y and the S. The X....not horrid but the worst of the bunch.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I do not like the new headlights on the M3 at all so I may wait until Fall and hope to get a good deal on a used M3P to replace my wifes 10 year old Mustang convertible. Figure there will be more on the market due to the refresh.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I also had good luck. I traded in a '18 Volt, Tesla gave me the 2nd best quote (got 4) and it ended up being just about tied for the best considering I saved 20k in taxes. A friend of mine traded in a '13 Prius and said they actually gave him 2k more than the next best offer he got.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Yeah I had a Mustang that I put summers on for the warmer months and winters on for the colder ones. I found that once you got around freezing it could be an adventure taking a turn. If I were to buy this car, I'd probably get some all seasons that are performance based and sell the summers.

    04.08.2024 - Solar output... Ooops, I forgot :)

I was in 97% in upstate NY I believe, so mine was pretty much 0 for a bit there:

What Would Compel You To Upgrade to a Future Model X?

I had a 22 X LR loaner and I didn't mind the yoke, the buttons for blinkers, or the amount of time the doors took to open. I did however hate using the touchscreen for drive and reverse, seemed hard to do quickly which sometimes you need. Curious do you own an X or just going off of what...

What Would Compel You To Upgrade to a Future Model X?

Are the falcon wing doors that annoying to live with? Wifes car is 10 years old and I've been keeping an eye out on 2020ish Model X Performance, prices keep dropping, down to about 45k now with low miles (50k or less).

Power Reduced - Pull over immediately alert making car undriveable

Just an update in case anyone read this and was curious, turned out for my car it was a wiring harness that was exposed. Probably built that way and it finally corroded and broke apart. The other person that had the same issue actually needed a battery replacement. Got my car back last...
