An alternative would be to add wire to the new harness from Tesla.

You could cover it with an old petrol fuel pump housing.

The wiring that's laying on the seat is from your handle? If so it needs to be replaced.

The harness in the pic has 2 switches. The new replacement is longer and is installed better to prevent the wire breaking.
