Why is Supercharger status always wrong?

I’ve tried clicking the pin, without success. I’ll try again next time. But in any case, it is not an issue of pushing availability updates to millions of cars every time a spot opens. It involves pushing availability updates to drivers who are then using navigation to go to that specific...

    First Tesla purchase turning sour.

I bought a 2013 model S around 5 or 6 years ago. It had 24,000 miles on it. It’s now got over 60,000 miles on it. I still can get around 230 miles at full charge. I think originally it was around 260. Will it last to 140,000? Not sure, but so far so good.

Why is Supercharger status always wrong?

Every time (yes, every time) I navigate to a supercharger, the numbers of current open spaces shown for the supercharger is ALWAYS wrong. Once I arrive, then the numbers change and I see actual status showin correct number of open spaces. Today it showed a 15 minute wait time. Right up until...

    Cracked rim replacement advice sought

I got my 2013 P85+, used, a few years back, with low mileage, and haven’t had many issues (knock on wood). But now: Rear original 21“ rim cracked about a year ago maybe and had it repaired for around $200-225. It’s started slowly leaking air again and while it could be a new crack (which can...

Car reset to default settings after update?

The same thing happened to me. The fix is to just re-enter your home address as your “home” location.

Car Auto-Locks Despite Being Set Not To Do So At Home

And we have a winner . . . . It seems my “home” location had completely disappeared, so only creating a new one was needed. Thanks!

Car Auto-Locks Despite Being Set Not To Do So At Home

This problem has started happening to me, although on a model S. It happened after a recent software update, and though not 100% certain that was the cause, it seems likely or at least highly possible. I checked if the settings were correct, and they were. I turned auto lock off and on, no...

AC turns off even though Keep Climate On is set to On

Funny thing … the car started to keep the climate on in later stops, with the climate settings I had. No idea why it started acting right, but better late than never.

First Road Trip Approaching: San Diego to Tucson/Bisbee

Ok, I am back home in San Diego now. The trip to Tucson and Bisbee went great, no issues of any significance (other than a big scary wildfire across the canyon in Bisbee, but the winds were blowing in the right direction, for us at least.) On the way to Tucson the Tesla, between Gila Bend and...

First Road Trip Approaching: San Diego to Tucson/Bisbee

The guy I am visiting is an electrician. He put in a 50 amp breaker. The car charged at 32 amps, without me making any change to the settings. It charged at 22 miles per hour.

2013 Model S unlimited free supercharging - taken away - want to get back?

I am the third owner of my 2013 S P85+ I was told the car itself had lifetime free supercharging for any owner, original or subsequent. So far that’s the way it has been.

AC turns off even though Keep Climate On is set to On

I am traveling in Arizona . It is hot. When supercharging, I set the AC to a high fan speed, a low temp (61) and press Keep Climate On. then I go out to the quick stop or whatever, and when I come back, the AC is off and the temp is set to 66. What gives ? Why can’t I keep the AC on when I...

First Road Trip Approaching: San Diego to Tucson/Bisbee

Thanks. My 30 foot extension cable is rated at 50 amps. I expect that would be fine a 30 amp welder outlet, though I suppose there may be other reasons to throttle back on the amps (outlet/adaptor plugs?). And I may need to use my friend’s 100 foot extension cable, and I don’t know what it...

First Road Trip Approaching: San Diego to Tucson/Bisbee

Thanks. That was along the lines of what I was planning to do. I wasn’t really expecting to need to charge at the Airbnb, just was thinking it might be possible. I have Tesla adaptors for 14-50 and 10-30, but for the 6-50 I got one from Amazon that had many Tesla users commenting that it...

Quality at home charging, are charge ports really needed to be installed at home?

Thanks. I keep mine plugged in all the time too, as I have two charging cables and sets of adaptors. One stays in the car, though it gets little use, but will finally see action when I take my first road trip soon.
