    Lowering the Model 3

Thread drift. I had an RC51 with a full Jardine 2 into 1. It was loud and at idle, sounded like a Harley. Back on topic, I keep toying with the idea of lowering for efficiency. Maybe 0.5" only. Sounds like dudes are installing Highland shocks/struts in older M3s. When the time comes, maybe...

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

2020 Model 3 LR. Picked it up Feb 2023 with 11,600 miles on it. Currently 40,709 miles.

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

I have been using the Electricdrive GT for the last 20,000 miles. Yes, the initial mileage was 10% worse than the worn out MXM4s. But that went away after some break-in period. Its been creeping down ever since. Worn out MXM4 ~229 Wh/mi New Electricdrive GT ~250 Wh/mi Current Electricdrive...

In 2023, who's making the best all-weather, all-season tires for the Tesla Model 3?

This thread has some great data on 4 AS tires but you are asking about summer only: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/hankook-ion-evo-as-vs-bridgestone-turanza-ev-vs-goodyear-electricdrive-gt-vs-pirelli-pzero-as-plus-elect.327238/ Ion EVO now come in summer tires as well...

Current favorite tire for Model 3

Based on mostly positive reviews, including TMC members, the Sailun ERange is probably the only non-big branded "cheaper" tire I would consider. Buuut, still probably go with Hankooks (which used to be a non-big branded cheap tire not too long ago). Sailun Erange 235/40r19s on Ebay are 2 tires...

Hankook iON evo AS vs Bridgestone Turanza EV vs Goodyear ElectricDrive GT vs Pirelli PZero AS Plus ELECT

Thank you for posting this. True story, was driving in the rain yesterday with the Electricdrive GTs (18") and thought about how good they were. My efficiency average keeps coming down, ~6/32nds wear currently, and into the MXM4 range before I replaced them. Happy overall. Based on these...

Hankook iON EVO All season tires with controlled efficiency testing

A friend needed new tires and I pointed him to these Ion Evos. He got them installed a few days ago. He said he wasn't a "car guy" so I am not sure if I am going to get any feedback. We both truck our kids to sports all over the place so hopefully he will be able to tell if his range is...

Discussion: All Season Vs Summer Tires

This comes off as very condescending. Especially from someone who decided to save $$$ when he took his car to the racetrack on street tires... The one place where you can really find the limits without going to jail, hitting curbs, being an asshole, and with usually an ambulance there...

    Model 3 wheel cover purpose?

I love these but they are off the car now. Wife really hated them. I really loved them. Efficiency is unknown. They stick out more and cover the lip, so they could be worse. If you are a weirdo and like them, ping me and I might sell them. I really want to use them again. They are a...

The quest for the ultimate efficiency.

BLUF: If the tires when new are the same efficiency as the old/worn, then they will be amazing once broken in, and then even better as they wear. Maybe try 44 cold PSI and see if that helps. I'm the crazy person at 46 PSI cold but might come down to 44 PSI.

The quest for the ultimate efficiency.

Can you post your data for your testing between 40psi and 50psi? I am curious. I used 42psi with the MXM4s and noted that the ride got very rough at higher cold pressures. With my new Goodyears, 42psi seemed very plush. But even with an alignment, I'm still wearing the inside of the fronts...
