Powerwall / battery storage: can you share how you use it with UK energy tariffs?

Hi, With the VAT rate now nil on battery storage, I think a home battery may make now (almost!) sense for our household. I’m leaning towards the Powerwall. I was considering the Givenergy AlO, but after spending some time on the Givenergy forums I’m concerned by their long-standing SOC / BMS...

Opinions from Model S owners who now have a Model Y

Hello, I would be interested in getting the opinions of current or previous Model S owners who now have a Model Y. I’d be particularly interested in your thoughts about the ride quality, noise levels (road/motors) and the seats. My Model S is coming up on four years old and yesterday I found...

    MCU2 upgrade reduced to £1400

Infotainment Upgrade I’m furious. £2340 paid on December 11th. During the same service visit they installed my FSD upgrade and after that my radar hasn’t worked, which disables all TACC and Autopilot. I’m waiting for a safe time to go in for service to get that fixed and they have the...

CCS Combo upgrade: completed in under an hour

After a small delay waiting for parts, I had the CCS combo 2 upgrade installed by a Milton Keynes mobile service technician today. He arrived 10 minutes ahead of schedule and beat his 1 hour estimate, completing the work in about 45 minutes! :) (Now hurry up and complete Amesbury supercharger...)

Model S Long Range Plus in the UK?

I see the custom order Model S models listed on the UK website are still just described as “Long Range”, not “Long Range Plus” as in the USA. It also has a WLTP range listed As 379 miles, compared to 402 miles EPA for LR+. Just a website error, or are Tesla only doing LR+ in North America?

Tesla Model Y - no parcel shelf

I was just looking at some of the photos of the Model Y on the Y forum. It might seem like a small detail, but I find it inconceivable that the Model Y doesn’t have a parcel shelf to cover the contents of the hatch back. That seems so odd in the UK, where every hatch I’ve owned - and most I’ve...

    19” sport wheels - £1450 option

I was browsing the Tesla website and saw that you can now (again?) select 19” sport wheels on Model 3 SR+ and LR AWD builds, costing £1450.

Mobile technician versus service centre - wait times

My driver side door handle has failed again on my 2018 Model S. Last Sunday I booked an appointment at West Drayton for Friday - less than one week wait :) - but was contacted on Monday and told that it could be done by a mobile tech. I (stupidly) did not ask what the wait time would be for...

    Supercharger queues

So obviously it’s a busy time on the roads, but thought I’d share my supercharger observations. I did 240 miles up the M1 and A1 yesterday and back again today. Woodall was maxed out (8 out of 8 stalls busy) both times I was there - around 12:30-13:30, so “peak” lunchtime. One or two cars were...

V10 Driving Visualisation slow on MCU1

Hi, Did a few hundred miles on the motorway for the first time since getting V10 and at times I noticed the driver visualisation appeared very sluggish. The lane lines were moving/updating at maybe only 4 or 5 frames per second, sometimes the cars were also updating infrequently, other times...

Model S / X and yellow screen border - any repairs in the UK?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone in the UK with an S/X that has the yellow screen/border problem on the MCU has had it repaired, not just replaced? I reported it to the service centre early this year and they told me solution was expected in the summer. I've read on the Model S forum about a fix...

    LV insurance and tracker

I got an insurance quote on LV and it states: "We require a tracker to be fitted and activated when your car is left unattended. We won't cover you for theft unless this security is fitted." If I deselect tracker, then they won't cover it. Otherwise, the quote is very good. Any experience of...

2019.16.2 - auto wipers are better

My Tesla recently got an update from 2019.12 to 2019.16.2 and today I had the chance to try the auto wipers in some changeable rain showers. Summary: *much* better than I’ve seen before. I’ve previously kept auto wipers disabled as I found them basically useless, but now they seem pretty good...

Model S and X price and option changes in the UK

Tesla have updated the battery designation, options and prices for Model S and X in the UK. Standard range Model S is back. Autopilot now costs £3k, but Naivagte on Autopilot and Advanced summon are part of the FSD package now. I wonder what that means for those of us who have already paid...

2018.42.3 - charge current off by 1 amp?

I got 2018.42.3 yesterday and noticed that the charge current selected in the car differs from what is shown in the app, by 1 amp. 6A set (and stated) in the car is only 5A according to the app - and an energy monitor. Has anyone else seen this?

Current service plan - current prices?

I took out a service plan just over a month ago but at the time was told that the service plans were under review. Tesla don't seem to publicly list the service plan costs anymore, they are just shown in My Tesla. But because I took out a plan, I can't see the current prices. I just wondered...
