Tesla was very accommodating and willing to proceed with the buyback. The vehicle had already easily qualified for the lemon law based on the state guidelines as outlined in the ordering agreement. I think its easier and in the best interest of Tesla to buyback and then gives them the...
I recently completed a Tesla buyback on a Model Y early production and took delivery of a new Y this week.
I must say, in my experience, Tesla and their team were absolute professionals, provided prompt communication, respectful and hands down the best customer service Ive ever encountered...
This pulsing/high pitched whine is killing me. I know there have been other posts on here with similar complaints. Does anyone else have this sound? (Brown1428 and rorrim, similar?) Consistent at 20-30mph, worse at 28mph. It’s tough to tell if it’s from the front or back. I’ve been told once...
I’m glad you found a resolution. Mine is getting checked out (2nd time) for the similar issue. The whine is similar to yours in the video and comes on between 20-30mph. It’s then drowned out for the most part by road noise. Unfortunately, most of the speed limits around us are 25-30...hence its...
Agreed ...it’s noticeable. Definitely more punch on the lower end now. I previously had a model x p100d and that literally made your head bleed. I agree with the comment ...it’s more fun now in a non subarachnoid hemorrhage kind of way. I believe it’s worth the $2k in my irrational and impulsive...
I’m loving all the comments on this thread ...the acceleration boost and everyone’s comments on here is the best distraction I’ve had in awhile...thank you ! I’m so close to pressing buy.
Well my A/C issues are finally resolved. Thank you new Super manifold!! My Y took 3 visits and about 27 days total of service. Apparently the challenging part in my case was my car wasn’t giving the same type of fault codes and pressure discrepancies as others. During the process they charged...
I’m sorry to hear you have experienced issues as well. The 4hr wait on new car pickup hurts the new car excitement to say the least.
Yes, I’ve been to Highland Park once for repair and now at Milwaukee service center for the second time. My Y is in service now with expected completion this...
Service update ...My super manifold replacement has now turned into, “we think you have a slight leak from your radiator” A new radiator and cooling fan module is now on the way.
I was cautiously optimistic but losing some faith. Considering the number of folks with intermittent A/C issues that...
Service center update for me....A new supermanifold is on the way. This fix has been the answer to at least another Y owners similar issue with intermittent A/C. Fingers crossed.
I vote for the carbon fiber spoiler as well. In the meantime you could easily wrap just that portion of the wing with vinyl wrap. I think this 3m Gloss white gold sparkle is pretty close in color. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MREN0W4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or...
I dropped mine off yesterday afternoon. The service center stated it is now a known issue and there have been service bulletins put out regarding the problem. Additionally, they were able to see fault codes for the first time when my A/C was on but not cooling. I am optimistic now that a...
Nice job...did you happen to take any pictures ? I have a similar issue that I’m now start to dwell on as my A/C hasn’t worked so my vehicle has been much more quiet. Also, thanks rorrim, you got in my head on this one.
Good luck! So far it appears items being replaced have included :
Pressure Sensor
Manifolds
Front controller
My 3rd attempted fix is scheduled for this Weds.
Fingers crossed.
Let us know when you find out your part replacement.
Ps...the A/C system seems complicated to say the least.
The...
I’m sorry you have had to experience a steam Y as well. I realize it’s first world problems but it sucks. I’m in Wisconsin so no where near as hot as Arizona or Neveda. I hope they find a solution soon.
As mentioned, I have gone down the Freon level path twice now and that doesn’t seem to be...
Good luck!! Still have the same problem as you.
It’s not the Freon level(that’s been checked twice now)
It’s not the coils freezing over as the issue is when it works, it works great for as long as it’s on. I can let the car sit overnight and then at first start the A/C won’t cool. Cranking the...
check out my posts....I have the exact same issue as you. My work around of cranking the heat then bringing back to low 60s and turning back on the A/C has been working consistently now. My 3rd service center visit is scheduled for next week. I feel your pain.
I’ve brought mine in twice now. First time it passed thermal tests and was returned. Second time, the problem of intermittent cooling was acknowledged but they felt it was due to slightly low Freon and returned. The problem for me is that if it works, it works as expected for as long as I have...
Fred, I think you’re on to something here and I discovered the similar workaround today. If you’ve noted my prior posts, I have been struggling with A/C issues and the service center has been less then helpful. I’m still waiting on a text back...They have developed a genius customer service...
I wish mine would just die...it works 50% of the time. Still awaiting a remedy. Please post an update and repair part #s when you get a fix..good luck.
Vin 27xx
Unfortunately no, I gave them the part # you shared a few times and they said it wasn’t the problem. I picked the Y up yesterday and they were convinced it was a Freon issue. No problem at pick up since then it’s only worked half the time. Is everything still good with yours ? Was your problem...
My only work around has been to turn off A/C(button not blue) then crank the heat to full blast for a few minutes then bring temp back down to mid 60s and turn on A/C. Let me know if it works for you.
I feel your pain. Click on my posts, I’ve been dealing with the same thing with no solution yet now x 2 trips to the service center. The $3k price drop would feel better at least with some cold air in my face.
The inconsistency between service centers is frustrating. I had mine added at a service center but it’s clearly doable for mobile service. It’s a rather simple appearing addition of a foam wrap.
Also, I was just aggressive and sent them the part # and they ordered it.
Regarding the charge for...
Finally found a solution to my intermittent A/C issues. Hopefully it lasts but apparently it was as simple as recharging the Freon. My VIN is in the 2000s and made it out before COVID shutdown so I’m more understanding of a few minor, easy fix oversights.
Bartman1, thanks for posting. Please update if you find a fix. I still have problems of intermittent A/C...sometimes it blows cold air but most of the time it just blows the fan. A owner in Georgia had a similar issue that was fixed with the replacement of a temperature sensor.
PT Sensor, Low...
BJCard, did you happen to get your Y back yet ? I’m eagerly awaiting your update or potential fix. No A/C for me today despite my attempted crank the heat work around.
Rorrim, I have a MY AWD, 2000 range build with a similar whine at low speeds(30-40mph) more noticeable to me on decel then accel at that speed range. Honestly, it hasn’t really bothered me too much as I’m sure all of our ears acclimate to the sounds/frequency differently. Now that you brought...
You are not alone with the A/C issues. See my prior thread asking for A/C help. Another Y owner in Georgia has a similar problem and a service visit tomorrow. My service isn’t until July 8 and currently have a new A/C compressor ordered. I’m hopeful we will soon find a solution.
Yes, I have had that happen as well. When viewing the temp on the app it can appear as if the temperature is falling dramatically fast but when you get in the car it’s still hot. I would say that shortcut has been working half the time but it’s the only current work around I’ve discovered.
I...
I’ve been having problems with initiating A/C in my model Y over the last several weeks. It typically just blows the fan and despite reset, toggling A/C, etc it will intermittently come on and cool. The service center checked it out and performed thermal testing and of course it was working as...
Thanks for posting...I’ve been having issues as well...sometimes/majority of the time it just blows the fan. I actually took it for service and when they checked it all was working as expected. I confirmed with the remote app. However, when I went to pick up the Y today I was unable to cool the...
