What Would Compel You To Upgrade to a Future Model X?

I think you are right. It makes me sad that Tesla doesn’t make more models or something in between the Y and X. $30,000 is still a big difference between them.

What Would Compel You To Upgrade to a Future Model X?

Drop to $73,490 so the 6 seater is tax credit eligible. Ideally under $70K so you can choose all options, or maybe just make the options cheaper or included. Pipe dreams though.

AMD Ryzen upgrade for older Model Y [none offered]

I won’t speak their names. But you can go to the earlier posts on this thread and from when the MCU2/3 changeover happened. Just being snarky since some people were actively telling others that there wasn’t a processing power difference between Intel and Ryzen.

AMD Ryzen upgrade for older Model Y [none offered]

And I wonder who could’ve predicted it? 🤔

Model X door no longer open fully automatically without USS (ultra-sonic sensors)?

My problem with vision for this purpose is that the cameras will either use more energy while the car is parked to insure the system is ready as soon as you walk toward the car, or it will be too slow because the system isn’t ready until after you’ve already walked up to the door and at that...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Well… had a 2024 VIN. I did some soul searching and actually just cancelled my order. 🥺 Too many things just don’t feel right personally and financially at this time.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

One of those red Xs could be mine! Delivery is in 12-17 days.
  8. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

    Correct, HF.
  9. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Yes. 7SAXCDE57RF434XXX My last Model X was a 2017 with VIN 044XXX. Are these pretty much numerical order since the beginning? So almost 400K builds later?

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

ABRP is extremely accurate for me, if not a little on the conservative side by default. You can change just about every variable to make it more fitting to how you drive. If you want a higher buffer for every Supercharger stop or want an extra long charge near the end, you can do that. It can...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Delivery is kind of far out though. 2/6 - 2/12

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Tax edition Ultra Red ordered 12/31/2023. Just got a 2024 VIN assigned today (1/23/2024). Like what?
  13. lonnielevi

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

I wish Tesla had stipulations that your car must be able to precondition the battery and take more than 200+kW at 400V for 10 minutes before allowing the Bolts of the world to sit at a Supercharger for hours. Even Lucids won’t be able to take more than 50kW, because they are 800V architecture...

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

Yes. I’d much rather have a tax edition Stealth Grey 7 seater than the Ultra Red 5 seater I have on order.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

If so, it wouldn’t be a bad deal if one could combine the $1000 Cybertruck and $7500 POS credits to make it a $69K Model X!
  17. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

    Woot! POS submitted!

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I’ve seen people cancel orders and immediately get matched with the same VIN on a completely different order under the same account. Maybe you could create a burner Tesla account and then transfer it to your main account?

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Wow. There’s a tax edition for $77,590 in Pennsylvania. https://www.tesla.com/mx/order/7SAX218_c6f527dde594ee16ec38d4f0915d6c61?titleStatus=new

Discounted Model X that weren’t originally under $80K aren’t eligible for the tax credit, right? Like this Model X… https://www.tesla.com/mx/order/7SAX218_571eee9ec1c412751b269e326f65bdfe?titleStatus=new

    Deliveries of $80k X?

However, I personally believe some sort of update (even if it’s relatively small) is coming within a week for S and X. I’m probably wrong though. Also, it’s quite likely that the Highland 3 will be for sale in the US very soon. https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/s/c5dtaNbhQC

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Honestly seems like they just posted the same information from back in October again but with more “evidence”, which is just Green’s X post from a few days ago. It’s fine to speculate in a forum or social media, but I don’t think they should be posting that as if it’s fact.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I’m sure it’s all in my head, but the 10th is the deadline to accept the new order agreement. I tend not to be a conspiracist, but this new agreement, the EPA changes, the efficiency package and horn, and a few cryptic tweets make me think something is happening.
  26. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

It does seem like something will be announced after the 10th though.
  27. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Do you already have a VIN? Your EDD is very soon, so I’m wondering if you’re getting a 2023.
  28. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The EPA rated range has changed due to a new test. So we have to accept a new order agreement. There’s also a rumor that it could be a different drivetrain/battery. But I don’t think anyone knows for sure.
  29. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

It showed up under the “Manage” section of my account.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Just updated my design too. The new order agreement shows the $1000 Cybertruck discount (labeled as referral bonus)!

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Don’t forget about the power hungry front bumper camera!
  32. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

When I click the link, it redirects multiple times and eventually my browser gives up. I’m still seeing the old range when I go to edit the design in my account. So I’m not sure what to do. I assume it’ll be fixed soon.
  33. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Just got an email about the EPA range. Their reasoning is a little odd. They say it’s because the comfort and functionality improvements require more energy. I can either get a $250 order fee refund or “update design” by the 10th to keep the order. Is this the first time Tesla has been proactive...
  34. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Both can be true. The EPA number is far from reality these days and is a borderline lie, especially for EVs. The average highway speed during the test is under 50 mph. I don’t understand why they multiply the results by 0.7 when they could just run a more realistic test.
  35. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The range is the same, but the top speed dropped from 155 to 130mph.
  36. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The Model X Long Range Plus at 371 miles actually had more cells.
  37. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The tax credit incentive page disappeared from the app. Some talks about delayed deliveries due to the IRS updating their system. POS tax credit imminent?
  38. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I forgot to as well. But as I was just planning on using my own referral, I don’t think it matters? I just messaged Tesla through the app and they confirmed I will still get the loyalty credits, which I believe is all you would get anyway for purchasing another Tesla. But for some reason they...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I wonder how many of us are waiting until the 31st to get the $1000 off and a hope at 2024 model year, lower prices (more seats/options under $80K), front bumper camera, RGB ambient lighting, etc?
  40. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Loyalty referral is just 10,000 credits now. But I guess I could upgrade my wife’s Model 3 with the Acceleration Boost!
  41. lonnielevi

    Deliveries of $80k X?

You got 3.99% from FedChoice? I only see 6.74% on their site. Edit: I see people talking about it around page 98 on this thread. Looks like it used to be 4.49% and new customers got up to 1% off, but the floor was 3.99%. So I assume best case today is 5.74%.
  42. lonnielevi

    2023.44.1

I’m not sure that’s 100% true. My wife’s Model 3 had 44.30.1, but the next day got 44.30.2 and it has never had anything more than Basic Autopilot.

    No more auto following/turning headlights?

Just wanted to post the excerpt from the manual on this. I don’t know either way. Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) If equipped, the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) automatically adjusts the beam of the headlights to improve your driving view. Electric sensors measure driving speed...

    Battery size/screen indication is wrong?

Here’s a refresh Model X with 10K miles. Kyle was able to pull 93 kWh out of it in one continuous drive. It read 0% for about 3 kWh at the end. If it was brand new, he might have been able to get 95+ kWh. Initial degradation happens fairly quick and then plateaus. Tesla usually has a buffer at...

No 12 volt power to tow package trailer outlet plug

Thanks @ShawnA I emailed [email protected] to threaten arbitration for this and they kicked me over to my local service center where they wasted an entire day with my car for whatever reason. They said they were being told by engineers that it’s by design. Which yeah, duh, you’re gonna fry...

No 12 volt power to tow package trailer outlet plug

That may be a different issue. The change to 16V lithium ion to replace the 12V lead acid means no power to the Aux pin (pin 4 on the diagram above). They could have installed a DC-DC converter that lowers voltage at the pin, but chose not to for whatever reason. To me this is a safety issue...
