Please do report back with your findings. It took me a month of testing to notice that my lights kept changing their levels when I parked and open/closed the door and then a further month to notice that it was that behaviour that seemed to be causing them to drift apart from each other.

In my experience you need to drive the car for a while for it to pick up the new TPM positions.

Based on the amount of people I've seen reporting that the reset helped the car pick up the update, it certainly makes me think that there is/was some software bug here.

I had to do the same for it to pick up the update. It used to do a check for any updates when you went to the software screen but now (even on 2023.26.7) the last checked time doesn't seem to update until you do the two thumb reset =/

I tried the steps and left it for 20 minutes but unfortunately mine is still 8A. My UMC came with my 2019 Model 3, maybe this update only applies for newer ones? IIRC I think I read the later UMCs came with an actual 10A tail but the older ones was only 8A. Happy to be proven wrong.
