    New headlights retrofit

I’m in roughly the same boat, it would be super awesome if you could document the steps and report back here. I know myself, and probably a lot of others, would be really appreciative of you sharing your experience 🙏🏻

    New headlights retrofit

Well I don’t know for sure, but if I look up the headlights for a US Model 3 on the Tesla Parts Catalog it’s a different part number to if I look up a AU Model 3: US Model 3: - Left: 1514952-00-E - Right: 1514953-00-E AU Model 3: - Left: 1514952-10-E - Right: 1514953-10-E My understanding is...

    New headlights retrofit

I’m looking to attempt the same thing in my 2019 RHD 3 in Australia. From my research you’ll need a special Ethernet cable. I bought this one off Amazon, it’s arrived but I haven’t tried it yet: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B0CGDQGL5H?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Based on what I’m...

2022 Tesla Model 3 LR Projector to Matrix headlight retrofit

This is awesome! Can you elaborate a bit more on the need for an ethernet diagnostic cable? Why was it needed? How'd you use it? etc. I also have an Intel MCU and would love to try the retrofit so trying to gather as much info as possible.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

As of 2024.2.2.1, I've noticed that as I approach the car, it seems to know I'm approaching and 'turns on' ie. I hear the 'thunk' sound of the high voltage contactors engaging. I've observed it twice and in both cases the car was left over night, 'off', not charging and I hadn't interacted with...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This happens so often in so many places and there's no way to stop the indicator except turning auto pilot off entirely. It's probably the worst bug.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

That’s partially true, Tesla only use Google Maps’ map tiles (ie. the road graphics) the actual navigation is done by MapBox. The Tesla nav would be so much better if it was just straight Google Maps and their navigation routing too.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

At some point, before the holiday update, my home and saved favourites all disappeared. I only noticed because I happen to check the app at home and saw sentry mode on. After the first holiday update I received (2023.44.30.2) the home address was intact but the favourites disappeared at some...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Is it just me or are the favourited locations in the nav continually being deleted (2023.44.30.2)? My car is installing 2023.44.30.5.1 as I type, hopefully it fixes this because I need the favourites to stop sentry mode from turning on at those locations.

So we don't get High Fidelity Park Assist (HFPA) but we get the reversing guide lines on the vehicle visualisation 😂

    Glitchy Touch Screen

I suggest you to give the screen a thorough clean, hopefully it’s just some dirt causing the phantom touches. If you have any phone mount (MagSafe) near or attached to the screen I’d remove it. If you’ve made sure absolutely nothing could be touch, applying pressure or interfering with the...

Surely not? Tesla almost definitely built the in car Spotify app which just uses Spotify’s API to interact with the actual Spotify service.

    Can't save headlight position/calibrate after 2023.38.6/8

Please do report back with your findings. It took me a month of testing to notice that my lights kept changing their levels when I parked and open/closed the door and then a further month to notice that it was that behaviour that seemed to be causing them to drift apart from each other.

    Can't save headlight position/calibrate after 2023.38.6/8

Haha yes it is, that’s my post =D I certainly agree that the calibration seems to go out and that’s what I’m mostly interested about. The headlight leveling issue being discussed here was one easy way for me to bring them back to ‘factory’ levels. I simply entering into headlight adjustment...

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

The headlights absolutely need to be leveled manually at some point in the manufacturing process, a headlight replacement would definitely require it as well. Tesla's own, free to access service manual, tells you how to do it and the instructions literally make you calibrate them such that...
  17. D

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

I honestly don’t know if one headlight is meant to be lower or not but, Tesla’s own service manual tells you to level them such that both headlights are level with each other. If Tesla intended for one to be lower, why not just include that in their instructions? Why have this self lowering...

New iPhone 15 Pro car won't always unlock

Based on my own experience this issue can happen on all phones. I predominantly used a Pixel phone for 3 years and now I’m on an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both phones sometimes have issues with unlocking. However, with the Pixel the success rate was closer to 98%, on the iPhone it feels like the...

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

So after many more months of testing I've come to the conclusion that this is a bug or possibly a hardware defect. In Tesla's own service manual it tells you to level them so that both beams are level with each other. What I've noticed is the following: Have lights leveled as per Tesla's...

    Can't save headlight position/calibrate after 2023.38.6/8

On a tangentially related note, even before this issue, I noticed that whenever I parked on an incline (on a ramp) and opened/closed the door (ie. exit the vehicle and close the door) the headlight levels would change slightly. Park on different inclines enough times, the left and right...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Based on the amount of people I've seen reporting that the reset helped the car pick up the update, it certainly makes me think that there is/was some software bug here.
  26. D

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I had to do the same for it to pick up the update. It used to do a check for any updates when you went to the software screen but now (even on 2023.26.7) the last checked time doesn't seem to update until you do the two thumb reset =/

UMC updating to 10amps on 2023.26.7

I tried the steps and left it for 20 minutes but unfortunately mine is still 8A. My UMC came with my 2019 Model 3, maybe this update only applies for newer ones? IIRC I think I read the later UMCs came with an actual 10A tail but the older ones was only 8A. Happy to be proven wrong.

Model 3 7.2” Rear Entertainment Display Install and Honest Review

For some reason my car didn't seem like it was checking for updates automatically. Every time I do the two thumb reset it does an update check and I see the last checked time update. Today I decided to do another reset again and sure enough, it found the update and is downloading it now...

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

Awesome thanks for the replies! It's interesting to discover that it's basically impossible to aim the light too high as it'll eventually re-level itself. At the same time it's also a little concerning that you don't have complete control over the headlight levels, why have the headlight...
  33. D

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

Yes this is my understanding of how it works as well. The beam pattern for each headlight has more light (higher) on the left than the right but the height level of both should be the same. Also, I should've attached photos to begin with, hopefully this is explains the issue better: This is...

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

I assume you mean entering the headlight adjustment mode and let it do it's initial leveling procedure before it lets you make any adjustments. If I do that it'll bring the driver side headlight back up to where I previously set it for testing purposes (much higher than the other one). Then...

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

I originally posted this on Reddit but I realised it might make more sense to be here since it might be a AU specific thing: tl;dr - 2019 RHD M3P driver side headlight level eventually lowers even after intentionally aiming it higher than passenger side one - why? I've noticed this for a while...

    3 Phase Powerwall

I'm interested in doing something similar, can you give me some details on how you're doing 3 phase backup with 3 batteries? I assume they're Powerwalls. My understanding is that this is not possible unless it's one Powerwall per phase but I was hoping to have the batteries be usable across all...

Model 3 7.2” Rear Entertainment Display Install and Honest Review

On the topic of the 7.2" rear display, if you want to customize the boot logo and lock screen background ie. remove the Hansshow logos, you can do this: Download the update file (tsl_hx_update.upd) from the product page. The tsl_hx_update.upd is just a zip file, replace the android_logo.png...

Air intake filter - yes or no?

I got the one linked in the video description https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004144439760.html but, honestly they're all the same from what I can tell.
  42. D

Air intake filter - yes or no?

I also have installed extra weather seal around the edges of my frunk. I can only speak from my own experience, air flow seems to be same. When I had the air intake filter installed the difference was very noticeable but with just the deflector I don't notice any air flow difference from stock.
  43. D

Air intake filter - yes or no?

I can also confirm the under hood water deflector works well. I also used to put a air filter over the intake but now I just use the water deflector. It's been 1 year and 9 months since Tesla cleaned my AC and changed the cabin filters, AC still smelling great (touch wood). Disclaimer: your...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

    Autopilot/NoA randomly and incorrectly signalling

So I've noticed this since Navigate on Autopilot was enabled in Australia many years ago. With NoA enabled, sometimes when the car is entering a motorway/freeway or near a on/off ramp/exit it starts indicating even though there is no lane change required. It seems to be getting crazier...

Anybody have the slightest jerky feeling when the car engages brake hold?

I actually never thought to try this and you're right, when in roll mode there's no jolt. I've always left the car's stopping mode in hold mode. With hold mode enabled, if I use the brake to slow to a complete stop and don't release the brake, hold doesn't activate yet. While in this state, if...

Anybody have the slightest jerky feeling when the car engages brake hold?

Absolutely agree with this, when using one pedal driving to come to a stop with hold mode, I wish they could ease the brake more so that the slight jolt is completely gone. However, this slight jolt happens even when you use the actual brake to come to a stop. If you slow down using the...
