Apparently the MY 21” Uberturbine colour differs from the M3 20” Uberturbines but they look the same to me…..

Update - I’ve spent the last week driving around solely using AC and not with Auto enabled. No issues whatsoever so I am putting it down to that.

Car is less than 6 months old no smoking or vaping. Never use recirculation. No damp or wet areas. I am going to check under the panels under the bonnet for leaves later this morning. Good point about cleaning the windscreen. I did that a few months ago and I know that can help. In other cars...

If it’s user error please correct me. I just use auto all of the time when I drive. When I get in the car and it’s misted up I press the front windscreen icon twice to get it to show max.

The windscreen has been replaced now by Autoglass. It’s labelled up in the bottom corner as Tesla and looks identical to what it replaced including the part number. I’m impressed with the work.

Seems it’s Autoglass head office that apparently dials into the car not Tesla. More plausible!

Autoglass state that the appointment takes longer as after they replace the screen “they have to plug in via the obd port and get Tesla to dial into the car to recalibrate the cameras”. Seems crazy when you can just press the button in the car. Is this bull?

Crack is an instant screen replacement in the Autoglass decision tree. Get it done now before you get caught out in the winter - just my opinion

Apparently Autoglass need to use “specialist equipment” which is brought in from another branch to do the recalibration. They also turn a 3 hour appointment into a 5 hour appointment. Makes me wonder what they are doing….

Thanks for the responses. What are they actually doing when they say they have to “recalibrate everything” after a new screen is fitted?

Mrs S is having her Model Y windscreen replaced by Autoglass soon. Are there any special things to check after the work or any recommendations that I should be aware of?

Has anyone found any cost effective solutions to protecting just the front end for long trips? I’m about to do 2000 miles in a short period of time and could do with a cheaper DIY solution that I don’t have to declare to the insurance company (costing more money).

I was just saying exactly the same thing to the Mrs. I too have had my Model 3 for over 3 years and it currently seems worse than it’s ever been. I have a model Y on order and I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve considered cancelling it for something else. Confidence diminishing

I’m not sure why I am posting on here to tell you lot that I have the same issue. Maybe we should all log service requests in the app so Tesla get the message that they have broke something

Also have this issue. Logged a service request and they said they needed exact timings of when it was happening - which I provided. No resolution. Happened again today and now from 13:30 onwards

I ended up phoning Tesla direct when someone went in the back of me and essentially found the parts for the repairer. Whilst this sounds crazy the repairer had no access via the portal they use to see SC maintained local stock. Tesla need to sort this out.

It almost sounds like metal hitting metal and something fouling against a suspension component. My guess is its more likely to be the subframe.

It’s only happened to me once but it was enough! My young daughter was in the car when I ran back into the house for something and she was quite upset! She was in floods of tears and said her ears were ringing afterwards. Quite a nasty thing to happen to an unsuspecting 8 year old.

I wish that was the case with Zen Auto - no flexibility at all. Will have to pay back at least half of all remaining payments. They were not interested when I called them. Will end up going with another company new time. It’s a real shame as they are excellent for everything else.

Sounds like everyone’s worst nightmare. Glad to hear you are getting it resolved and that is sounds like you have had no damage to your alloy. I don’t feel like I can trust Tesla recovery. I have taken out a policy with the RAC.
