It loves for me to stop there before going into the gorge. It doesn’t make oodles of sense as it’s barely an hour out of the tricities and it’s pretty slow charging because of my percentage. But it doesn’t like me stopping in the dalles because that’s quite a ways in the winter.

Got routed here on my way to hood River even though I could make it to the hood River charger with 14%. Yes, I was heading up the road a bit towards mount hood, but the lack of speed charging at 65% would have easily made the trip slower than stopping at hood River and charging at very high speeds.

Same for me. This is a bad weather in the gorge assurance stop or an I don’t need to charge at home stop. My spouse does regularly need to stop at the rest area outside of boardman, so perhaps it will replace it.

Well, this will get me from boardman to bend without a stop in my 3LR RWD, which is great! Unfortunately in the time we’ve been waiting my kid became a mountain biking junkie and we can’t go anywhere like bend without the bikes, and that means the other car!

It’s a good distance from boardman to madras - 70% on my M3LR. We also tend to stay on the north side of bend, so perhaps a better on the way in or out

I would trust my judgement on that, but I felt like it was fairly new. It wasn’t repaved over even. Zoom in on satellite view does not show the box, so the box is new since the photos. I can’t imagine another reason for it to be there.

One small thing to add - this location is definitely a stop and stretch your legs but don’t expect anything else outside of the museum. It’s in an industrial park and there is one small Mexican restaurant close-ish, but it was closed when I swung by. So was the sage center which is also closed...
