    Supercharger - Bernalillo, NM

Ah - I answered my own question. Permit : Tesla has submitted a permit/plan/application for a specific address.

    Supercharger - Bernalillo, NM

On the supercharge.info map, the status says: PERMIT. I wonder what that means - that it's awaiting a permit, or that it has a permit but that it's not yet under construction?

    Starlink for home?

As a elated question - Can you take the hardware with you if you move to a different location/state?

Old Model S vs Newer Model 3

And I agree with Fgpalmer71 - The new Model 3s look great and you shouldn’t have to worry about any major (or minor) repairs for several years at least. Get a Tesla charger for your garage so your Supercharging can be limited to the times you’re on long trips away from home. Anyhow, that’s what...

Sailun Erange Ecosphere Tires for M3

Erange makes tires for all Tesla models. Looks interesting. I may consider them when replacing my tires.

    Model S Plaid Delivery

Glad to hear about your buying/servicing experience. How cool is that that they gave you a wall charger! Enjoy your new ride.

New to TMC and would love feedback on ordering a Model S Plaid

I had a HUD on my Land Rover and did like it, but do not miss it on my X. With the yoke wheel it’s easy to see the “gauges” and with AP engaged it’s not an issue for me to take my eyes off the road for a couple of seconds to, say, look at a map (which a HUD doesn’t provide anyway). As for...

Will/Can Plaid Prices go lower? (Considering ordering,, or wait?)

I agree. The way Tesla fluctuates it's prices it's hard to guess when prices will go up or down. If you can afford it now at the current rock-bottom price, I'd order it now. You'll love the car (at least I think and hope you will), so if the price drops after you make the purchase, let that love...

Keep the X, get rid of the wife……🤪

Need some guidance on a Tesla S

I’ve gotta agree with Darmie (from the other Santa Fe). With a large family, you might just find the X perfect. Needless to say, I’m biased!

Ready to order Plaid - but any new exterior S color insights or facts?

With yesterday’s price reductionS on both the S and X, all colors are available at no extra cost. Even with that, I prefer the metallic white which really shows off the lines of the car and is relatively easy to keep clean. Color is such a personal taste. I’ve not heard that there are any new...

Model S SR reintroduction / would you have waited?

For me, the standard range of the X is like 260 vs 348 for the long range. As I like to go on long road trips the latter is a no brainer.

Model S LR vs Plaid X - Price?!

I agree on the turning radius of the X and wish it were smaller. I love the styling of the S and considered it, but the low rake of the A pillar made it tough for these old bones to enter and exit the car. For my situation (long road trips and hauling stuff between two homes) the X offers more...

Model S LR vs Plaid X - Price?!

Day Trippin - I guess it’s personal preference. At first I thought the sun visor was too small - then discovered the flip down portion. I don’t understand why a narrow visor does the trick, but it works for me just fine. Although I’ve not had to, I wonder if raising the seat will help when the...

    Need advise! 2014 model s p85

Even if the free supercharging won’t convey, it still seems like one heck of a deal. With your primary driving of only around 15 miles a day, supercharging is hardly worth consideration unless you want to go on a long road trip. Otherwise, a level 2 charger in your garage (if you have one)...

Model X with higher mileage range - in Q1, 2024

I recently completed a 1650 mile trip from New Mexico to Vancouver Island in my 2023 X. Zero issues with charging (or anything else for that matter). Every Supercharger location had restroom facilities close by and all were within a short walk for food. Like others have said, you’ll want to stop...

About to pull trigger on new inventory MSP - am I missing anything?

I don’t have the new S, but based on my 2023 X and former M3, 19”ers ride great, AP is all I need (I had the FSD on my 3 and that was a waste of $), white interior has not been an issue on either and I like that look, and I love the yoke.

    Model S Late 2020?

It sounds like you really want a Model S, so if the wobbling during the rare times you put the pedal to the metal doesn’t bother you, then get this car. Personally, I’d wait to get a used refresh - understanding that it may result in a bit of a wait. I’d put in an “order” with the local dealer...

White Repair Kit Not Worth The Money

Love my new X, but not the hardiness of the paint. I drove through a sand storm in southern New Mexico on the way to Tucson and at the end of my round trip I noticed that there were some dings on the paint - front fenders and leading edge of the hood. I ordered Tesla’s paint kit for my white X...

Tesla Delays Model X Deliveries (Nov 2022)

I don’t particularly like that I paid more for my 2023 X than it costs now, but I have to say (especially to those lurkers who are wondering whether to buy and X given all the negative comments on this forum), that this X is the best car I’ve ever owned. The fit and finish are great and I’ve had...

Yoke Steering Wheel please post a picture if you dont see the Yoke-Worm

Yes, I see what you’re referring to, but like you said, it’s barely noticeable. I got delivery on Feb 4th, so it’ll be interesting to see if this image changes over time.

Yoke Steering Wheel please post a picture if you dont see the Yoke-Worm

What worm? Maybe the new Xs don’t have this issue?

    Another price drop

The yoke and stalkless design are fantastic. I realize some drivers are stuck in the past and habits are hard to break. For this old-timer, it took about 1 minute for me to get used to the new design. I love it.

How to get trade-in quote via the app?

Interesting. It definitely does pay to check out one’s individual state’s tax rule. Thanks for sharing that info.
  26. SantaFeSpence

How to get trade-in quote via the app?

We’ll that’s debatable, but I wonder whether the cost to you will be the same given the latest price reduction of a new S and the reduction in your trade in. I, too, was pissed that Tesla reduced my trade in by $5000 when they reduced the price of a new M3, but since the price of my new X was...
  27. SantaFeSpence

How to get trade-in quote via the app?

With the latest price reductions, it stands to reason that older models will also take a hit. I know it happened when I traded in my 2020 M3. Tesla doesn’t negotiate, so it’s doubtful they’ll meet your take it or or leave it offer. To the OP - remember that when you trade in with Tesla, your tax...

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

I think that interview was before he/we knew what the steering ratio was going to be. I’ve got just over 2,000 miles on my X and there hasn’t been an instance yet where I wished I had a round wheel. But hey, ymmv and the world is large enough to accommodate both preferences.

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

Yep, the roads look like that - when they’re paved. :)And yep, one finger (not the middle one…although that’ll work too) steering works most of the time.

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

Why, why, why get a round steering wheel? I know this thread is for those who are getting the retrofit. Yes, I know from all the threads that some folks can’t get used to the horn not being in the middle but geeze. I’ve been driving for close to 60 years and absolutely love the yoke wheel which...

    Blows my mind..

Man, that’s terrible service from your delivery/service center. I had the opposite experience here in Santa Fe - service center guy spent a good hour with me going over the differences between my old M3 and my new MX. As an experienced Tesla owner I knew most of the stuff, but you, as a new...

Tesla Advisors? Delivery is Monday. Haven’t heard from anyone

Took delivery of my new X a week ago. My second in 3 years (the earlier one was delivered by truck to the SuperCharger location). Both went flawlessly. Here's a shout-out to the Tesla service team in Santa Fe.

HW4 and Center Horn on 2023 Model S?

Maybe because live in northern New Mexico, or because I drive in Chill mode ;), but I just never have the need to toot my horn. Although a couple of days ago an a**hole cut me off and I felt I needed to let him know my dissatisfaction - the one finger salute was not enough!
  35. SantaFeSpence

HW4 and Center Horn on 2023 Model S?

I like the horn placement on the yoke. I rarely use a horn, but it’s nice not having to move my hand to reach a center horn - I just have to stretch out my thumb. Yes, after 50 years of driving my muscle memory was set on a center horn, but it’s just a matter of retraining that habit. Not so hard.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Re that $3,000 credit or Free SuperCharging if you trade in a Tesla on a new S or X, I contacted a Loyalty Advisor last week as I was trading in my 2020 M3, and the response was “we do not have any current rebates for trading in a Model 3.”

    My First Tesla-2021 Model S Plaid MSM-Pics

I don’t know guys, but I love the yoke. One finger turns, and it’s so comfortable to rest your hands on. It took maybe a couple of minutes to get used to the turn signals. And I love the clear view of the dash info. YMMV, but the yoke is a winner in my book.

Tesla Advisors? Delivery is Monday. Haven’t heard from anyone

And I’ll give a shout-out to the Mountain region advisors in Colorado Springs and the Service Center in Santa Fe. The trade-in and delivery process was smooth as silk. Of course on this forum, as with others, we tend to hear more from those unsatisfied customers then those happy ones. So far I’m...

I picked up my new X today and WOW. The fit and finish are perfect. Honestly, the whole process has been pretty great. Did I have to wait a full year? Yes. Wiki Model X Order/Delivery Tracking - Google Sheet

Dang - Despite what I was previously told, service manager said my X does NOT have matrix lights. I guess Tesla is not installing them on new Xs, at least not yet. They also could not say whether the wiring harness would work if I later decided to install Tesla’s matrix lights; gave it a 50-50...

Tesla Advisors? Delivery is Monday. Haven’t heard from anyone

Finally, after one full year I got my VIN with a birthdate of Jan 6, 2023. It arrived in Colorado Springs on Jan 26th. The service manager confirmed my X does not have matrix lights. Hopefully they’ll give it a good inspection before shipping it down to Santa Fe. Fingers crossed, since I had to...
