Are these Next Gen or Premium seats?

I'm pretty sure they would since it's the same seat design. I'd check one of those forums on TMC - a lot of people have swapped older seats for newer ones, so there's probably some good info there.

Are these Next Gen or Premium seats?

Those are the early Premium seats that actually got real leather (or in your case, partial leather). The only difference between them and the newer premium seats (2018-2019) is the seat material and stitching.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

European luxury cars are a great deal in North America! A nicely specced BMW or Mercedes costs around 60% of the price of the same car sold in Europe.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

Agree on all the above. And those features could be optional extras for all I'm concerned. Most luxury vehicles at a similar price point do not come standard with cooled or massage seats. Honestly, it would not take that much work to get the Model S to the level of a BMW 7-Series. It would just...

    Should I buy a Tesla?

Honestly I wouldn't recommend a Model S at that price point. I'd just take a used BMW 7-Series: BMW 7 Series 740d xDrive M Sport Saloon 3.0 4dr Or this Mercedes E53 AMG: mercedes IMO anything before pre-2016 is worse value for money than a gently used ICE car.

    Won't shift into D or R

That's weird. I just experienced this yesterday in a Mercedes E-Class. Try flicking up the gear shifter a few times rather pushing it up (make it more abrupt). If that doesn't work, power on and off (in the Merc I just turned the car off then on again, but the MS has no start/stop button).

    EU finalize and deliveries

Any experience with the Tesla service center in Graz? After hearing the horror stories about crappy customer service in the US, I can't help but wonder if I'll have to deal with that. Apparently it's different in Canada... hopefully the same applies to Europe.

Model S standard and performance just got reduced by 5k

So the MS that I have on order (no VIN assigned yet, and yes I tried CTRL+U) will stay more expensive but will have free supercharging?

    Coat Hanger - 2020 Raven Model S and X

Maybe using one of those headliner hangers? 'HookUp' Coat Hooks for Tesla Model S I've actually never used a coat hook in my own car. Only once or twice in an airport transfer.

2020 Seats w/ Nonadjustable Headrests vs Older

If all the above is the case, I can't wait for my MS! The "old" seats I sat in during the test drive felt super soft and supple compared to a BMW X3 that I had driven the week before. If the new seats are even better, that's great.

Buying a used Model S- what must have features should I hold out for?

Lower side of your budget: 2017 Model S | Tesla Slightly above your budget, but IMO a better deal: 2016 Model S | Tesla I'd also consider the X, here's a pretty great deal: 2016 Model X | Tesla Hope this helps.

Next Gen Seat CPO - comfort for a full sized guy

Welcome to TMC! I'm similar height and found the Next Gen seats to be okay, but the Premium seats are much more comfortable (a lot). That's not to say that the Next Gens are uncomfortable; far from it, but they're nowhere near as cushy and supportive as the Premium seats. Also, if you take a...

What to do with the pit on the left side of the trunk?

Maybe get a backpack and keep cleaning supplies (i.e. mini vacuum cleaner, wet wipes, etc)? Then again, the frunk would seem like a more logical place for those IMO.

TapTes Leather Seat Covers - Experience

They look loose around the headrests, but then again that's only on the adjustable headrests that I won't have. It's a small concern to me, the pricing is quite good so I wouldn't expect it to be similar to a bespoke upholstery.
  15. H

TapTes Leather Seat Covers - Experience

I'm considering TAPTES, I don't like fake leather and want perforated leather. If I get a good quote at an auto upholsterer I'll take that, but if not then TAPTES is good alternative. Hopefully TAPTES can do perforation.

    2020 Model Y Performance or 2017 Model S 100D Performance? **

If you value having the absolute newest technology available and do not need tons of space, practicality or quality, pick the Y. If you value luxury, speed, comfort and practicality, and don't mind having the second newest technology, pick the S. Make sure you disinfect the car when you take...

    2020 Model Y Performance or 2017 Model S 100D Performance? **

The S has a much larger trunk than the Y and has more rear seat legroom (the Y has a bit more space to tuck your feet under the front seat).

Questions on 2020 Raven performance X

I really wish that the headliner was cream. I'll probably switch it to cream alcantara when I take delivery through an auto upholsterer. Makes the cabin way brighter and feels more spacious.

    Model S Tires

I'm looking at the Pirelli Winter SottoZero 3s for my soon-to-be MS Performance with 21" rims. Anyone have experience with these, and if so, what are the handling and tyre noise like?

ThunderVolt! My 2020 Model S Performance

Good luck and enjoy! Can't wait to receive my Model S, but given that it hasn't been manufactured yet, I'm optimistically expecting it in June or July. I'll be sure to watch your future videos on the car :)

I've had my Model S for a month now. When does simply looking at it get old?

Tiny trunk, not much range, will likely have big issues? Don't forget that Porsche is an ICE brand while Tesla is the most experienced EV brand, and even they've had their fair share of recalls and problems. Then you've got little things, like the absurd location of the charge port. I was...

2020 MS New Front Seat review

I tested a 2019 Model S with the previous seats and those were super comfortable. I thought that anything more comfortable would be in 7-Series territory, so that's great to hear.

I've had my Model S for a month now. When does simply looking at it get old?

Seriously? I considered the Taycan for a moment but was immediately turned off after googling "porsche taycan interior". I actually would have preferred the Panamera interior, but still like the Model S interior the best.

2020 MS New Front Seat review

So, I've heard various opinions about the new MS/MX front seats. Can anyone post pictures of the seat, including its angle towards the head and how comfortable it is, as well as some pros/cons? Thanks.

    Help me decide: 2019 Model 3 performance vs 2017 Model S 75D (or 90D)

I can imagine that it feels solid, from what I've heard it's as nice as a 7-Series. That said though, driving an X3 and Model S back to back I think that the S is a bit more solid and feels nicer. The X3 has too many rattly parts and the "soft-touch" materials, while plentiful, feel too grainy...

New front seat design now shipping!

Is the rest of the seat (aside from the headrest) just as or more comfortable than the old design? If so, I know an auto interior tuner near me that does seat edits to change various aspects like headrest to adapt to preferences.

    Help me decide: 2019 Model 3 performance vs 2017 Model S 75D (or 90D)

I see that you have a 2020 X5 - this was a car that I shortlisted. How would you say the two cars compare in terms of comfort and build quality?
  28. H

    Help me decide: 2019 Model 3 performance vs 2017 Model S 75D (or 90D)

The build quality of the 3 is great in some spots and pretty lousy in others. The S is solid and soft-touch in almost all areas, it feels more luxurious IMO. I found the S pretty fun to drive on my test drive but the 3 is probably more agile because of its size. Similar to comparing the BMW...

    Help me decide: 2019 Model 3 performance vs 2017 Model S 75D (or 90D)

I'd go 90D unless the 75D is similarly equipped and way cheaper. The M3P is an awesome car but the MS is better quality. It's also more practical, I could never deal with the tiny trunk on the Model 3.

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

@InternetDude is Canadian. So it's not about 'Merican freedoms. I wouldn't be telling people that they're morons and evil either. Not a single person on this thread agrees with that, including EV owners and people who believe that climate change is real. I find it interesting that you have...

    Roof Bars 2020 Model S

With this being your first post, welcome to TMC! Congratulations and enjoy the car. 1. It's a glass roof - 100% it's not panoramic. 2. Not sure 3. For some reason, I can't find the roof racks on the GB site. Weird. Contact Tesla GB and they can definitely get their hands on some. 4. Don't...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Great to see a fellow Torontonian on the forum :) My point was that he isn't quite as eco-friendly as he thinks. Of course, the value of his constant purchases is that people can get good deals on pretty new cars, which is arguably more valuable than marginal reduction in CO2 emissions.
  35. H

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Okay. So a person who drives a car of a different manufacturer to yours is "heinous"? A businessman by the name of Elon Musk should be "isolated from the masses"? Elon, a big supporter of clean power and EVs, does not think that way. That is plain stupid. Calling people "heinous" for driving an...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

That is really true - I have seen all sorts of zealots on blogs/forums, but have to say that this example is extreme. It's none of anyone's business what car you (or OP) drive. Would I have made the same choice as you (trading in a Model S for an ICE)? Probably not. I am in love with the MS. Am...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Okay. And please tell me how you're doing your part in cutting CO2 emissions? By buying nine vehicles in nine years? Is that really better than driving one or two ICE cars during that same period of time? You'd have a much better argument if you had driven one or two Teslas in nine years. The...

    2016 Model S P100D or 2020 Model S Plaid

    1) I don't think that there will be a body style change. Aside from extra sporty elements in the Plaid model, that is. 2) No, it will be a performance plus model. The relationship of Performance to Plaid will be like BMW M550i to BMW M5. 3) You'd definitely lose more on the 2016. In four...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

IMHO, basically calling ICE drivers villains is much more ignorant and uninformed than saying that there are reasons for buying a Tesla besides CO2 and that it won't single handedly reverse climate change (which is a MASSIVE threat).
  45. H

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Really well said. I like the quality, comfort, space, design, performance and image of Teslas. I guess that the fact that they're eco-friendly is a small bonus, but a bigger one is that it doesn't smell like gasoline or diesel. When I ordered the car I was excited to damn drive it. I wasn't...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Why would any car manufacturer replace a battery/engine for a more expensive one? If you paid for an 85, you get an 85. They cost less than the 100. That's like me going to an ICE dealership with my $50,000 car and saying that the new $50,000 car has more horsepower and more torque, so if they...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

AmpedRealtor's 2013 P85, a 7-year-old EV, has 426km of range. A Porsche Taycan Turbo S that costs well over $200,000 CAD has 380. A Jaguar I-Pace has 392km of range (don't get me wrong, that thing has good value for money). A new MSLR+ has 630km of range, and a new MSP has 560-600km of range...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Here's another perspective. I live in Europe. Over a 3 year lease period, a BMW X3 M40i would cost me around $30,000 (CAD) more than Model S Performance (both fully specced). That's factoring in 0% ethanol gas, maintenance and around the same leasing/down payment rate. I'm not crazy. I'll pick...

    Tesla in lockdown

I suppose that if you're not ordered to quarantine, you could just drive to the nearest Supercharger (if you're running low), bring a mask and disinfectant, disinfect the charging handle and just wait in the car. That way you buy yourself more time (of course, you could just plug your car in the...

    Model S: Clever Vanity Plates

There is no chance that I do a crazy license plate. Even though I could easily get a really provocative plate since there are few EVs in Croatia, I don't want a six-figure car getting keyed (or worse).
