So I went by on Friday to check this place out, transformer is now installed but the damaged supercharger post still looks like it does in the picture above. You might be on to something about this.

Site is still waiting for a transformer install from the utility company.

Check on this every once in a while and it seems like work has stopped. SC posts are still sitting in the boxes. There are now 6 EA chargers installed in the same area but not active. I suspect the crew might be waiting for parts from Tesla or something of that nature.

Tesla was on site this morning with the covers off of the charging posts that have been shut down.

I have been able to charge my R1S there a couple weeks ago. I did use the Shell Recharge app and it does have the ability to scan QR codes, on the iPhone app at least. Little icon at the bottom right corner. I do not see the actual chargers listed on the app, however.

EVI just posted on their instagram about starting a Supercharger in Gardena. If you look in the background you can see Lee's and Vaquero Mexican Grill which is right across the street from this address I believe. EVI - Gardena

Actually, looking at a couple of the future location pins it seems like there are quite a few that are doing this.

The Tesla find us map may have let a new location slip? When you click on the future location pin in South Gate the info box actually post a link for Driving Directions. That link pulls up an address, Firestone Blvd, South Gate, CA 90280. Not sure if there is a thread for that location yet, but...

Not sure of the stall count, I think supercharge.info just puts 16 in as a placeholder? They are trenching along that whole southwestern corner though so it definitely seems like a bigger one.

Some trenching has been going on here for about a month or so but some equipment finally showed up today.

Been checking in on this every once in a while because I close to it. Looks like most of the posts are installed to various degrees. They just started recently shrinking the perimeter of the privacy fence so the construction part may be on its way to wrapping up.

Yep, was worried about that. This parking lot is tight and they put the stalls in the primary spots for all the businesses on the south side of the parking lot. Should have put them on the empty side to the west.

The pictures in this thread are the the Eastland Center ones. Eastland Center is in West Covina, not Covina. The permit out for the Covina location is for a little strip mall on Arrow Hwy and Hollenbeck. Makes you wonder if the Covina Ikea Supercharger project is still on. Haven't seen any work...

Looks like things are starting to wrap up. Fences are down on the portion on the west side. The two accessible posts/L2 area is still fenced off however and the posts on that side still have their covers off. I didn’t really see any L2 chargers set up so maybe those are coming later.

Went by yesterday and the construction part seems to be done. All the fences are down and the posts are all bagged. Just waiting for the utility company to come do their part and install the transformer.

City staff mentioned during a council meeting that this site has 20 posts. It was hard to count when I was there a while back with none of them installed yet. Side note, she also mentions in the clip that there is a permit pending for a third location in the Eastland Center. City Council 06Jun2023

This center was pretty sketchy when it used to be anchored by the indoor swap meet and honestly think it probably a little worse now that the space is sitting vacant. It’s mostly a parking lot at this point on the east side of the strip mall. Nice to see that Tesla is finally starting to fill...

Went by the other day. Looks mostly unchanged since the last photos were taken. Aside from the cabinet in the L2 charger area being installed now.

Anyone know if this one is open again? Tesla is listing it as active but was wondering if that was accurate.

Stopped by this morning and plugged in. These seem like they are not fully operational because I was only able to pull like 40kw max. Stuck around for 10 minutes and gave up. Tesla pulled up when I was unplugging though so maybe they are still working on it.

Tesla was on site this morning working on the superchargers. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are up this week.

Yes, V4 pedestals don’t necessarily mean V4 chargers. Likely these are just V3 but we will see in a few I guess.

Yes, they aren’t allowed to say what it is yet but by looking at the rendering you can tell it’s an Amazon Fresh. Same thing happened in Pasadena they were very hush hush about it until the Amazon Fresh signage went up. Probably won’t be open until first half 2023 though.

Saw the pedestals out today. Haven't really seen any other equipment but it's possible they are storing it in the structure. There really isn't a lot of room in the front little lot. Especially now with the construction going on.

Permit still hasn't changed since may and no work looks to be happening yet. Also, the Tesla Find Us map changed the projected opening date to Q2 2023. Might be a while on this one.

Went by earlier in the week and swept through pretty much the entire parking area and didn't see any Tesla equipment other than the battery storage system. Pretty sure that is just being used by the EA chargers though and not related to a new supercharger installation.

Went by this morning and had a similar situation, came in with ~5%SOC and still only hit around 90kwh max during charge. Think something might be up with this one. Gave up and just charged enough to make it the the SG one and that one worked as normal.

Wonder if this is the “Chino Hills” one listed as planned for 2023 on the tesla website. It’s a different city but Tesla seems to be pretty loose with the city designations on the website.
