    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

Yes i believe you are correct. I thought he had to pay the taxes but after talking to him it sounds like he didn’t have to.
  2. C

Order before March 1 or wait until end of Q1

Yes. The 2023 LR Ys always qualified for it. But all of the 2023s are now gone from the inventory, at least in NY.
  3. C

MY 2024 Refresh - Project Juniper?

All of the 2023 LR Ys (which had the $5000 discount) seemed to be sold out now in NY as well. They went very quick.

Interesting, that seems to be significantly wider than the Ford F150 which is 80" wide according to google. Although, I think the F150 number is without the mirrors. Does anyone know the width of the cybertruck without the mirrors?

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

All the 2023 LR Ys that had the $5000 discount on top of the 1% financing are gone. Not sure how many there were in NY but they seemed to move really fast after the discounting.
  6. C

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

This is true, at least for my brother who just bought one yesterday. He had to just pay the taxes (roughly $3800). Financed the rest.
  7. C

MY 2024 Refresh - Project Juniper?

They have for 2023 Ys. $5000 off. But yes I agree, if that happens for the 2024 ones it would be irresistible for sure.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have no way to back this up but anecdotally it seems like the overall car market is really slowing down. Including Tesla. There is a huge dealership near me (located in an old mall) that sells pretty much all brands, and the huge lot looks full or almost full. This lot was almost empty not too...

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

That’s strange. My brother just got the 1% but has a lower CR.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

lol. Again, those are the Russian tactics. Stop projecting and find better source's of you don’t want to keep your head in the sand.
  11. C

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

More likely another errant glide bomb from a Russian plane. While the Russians like to hit apartments/schools/hospitals/churches/etc across all of Ukraine, that’s not how Ukraine operates. Also, you might want to find better sources than RT. They have been proven untruthful many times over and...

I’m seeing the same thing on the 2023 LR AWD inventory cars. Seems like a great deal.
  13. C

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

I was looking at the LR AWD 2023. $5000 off.
  14. C

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

I’m seeing inventory discounts of over $4000 right now, with the 1% financing. Seems like a good deal. To be clear, the discounts seem to only be on 2023 vehicles. Any downside besides a little worse resale in the future?

Who’s hyping it up other than EM? Unless you are going by his mind blowing comment, which he has said many times before over the years.
  16. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I hope Rivian somehow magically survives and thrives. I would like an R1S if they were to integrate tesla supercharging as seamless as it works with my Model Y.
  17. C

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Aren’t the 2 articles somewhat contradicting? If exports are at a low, how can revenue be at a high? Are they basing these numbers off of what Russia says? Can’t trust anything out of them. Either way, it does suck that the world is so dependent on oil that Russia can print money no matter...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The Juniper refresh doesn't seem to be happening until sometime in 2025. But whenever it does happen I may be tempted to trade in my 2022 Model Y for one. Typically I keep cars for 10+ years but I feel like based on the Highland reviews, the Juniper Y could be a big enough improvement to...

    That's a shame.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

You have more patience than me. My work garage looks very similar and I tried it this morning but gave up pretty quickly. Was way easier and faster to just park myself.
  21. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

These are just minor bug fixes though, right? I’m really looking forward to the v12.4 to really get a good idea of pace of improvement. Hopefully that comes out within a couple of weeks.
  22. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe they aren’t buying them because they aren’t Teslas. 🤷‍♂️. I know I fall into that category. They have the EV6 and Tesla sells way more Ys. Plus the EV9 just came out I think.
  23. C

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Not saying he isn't going to be right, but why should we care what he thinks? I guess he got Apple/iphone correct so he must be an expert on this topic as well. ;) Toni Sacconaghi 2008 -- Others, such as Sanford Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi, say that the discrepancy suggests that more...

Good point. Just like how no one buys a Honda accord because of the Honda civic being available.

Official Foundation Series Dual Motor Waiting room

What are your garage dimension? My garage is only 20x20 and this is a concern of mine. My other car would be a Model Y.
  27. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yeah, I haven't seen any improvement from 12.3.3 to 12.3.4 either. It may have "fixed" some issues I was having but made some other things worse. I like to try out new versions because I am invested in TSLA and I want to gauge the "progress", but otherwise, I always end up reverting back to...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not sure why but I’m starting to think that some people must have completely different experiences with FSD than I do. Not only would my car start yelling at me if I did anyone of those things (use my phone, text, email, etc) while driving, but I would also miss all of the times I need to...
  29. C

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I don’t trust Moscow Mike until it’s actually official. Everything has been a delay tactic, hopefully this isn’t more of the same.
  30. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. I had FSD last summer (paid for a couple of months) and I liked the ALC feature for road tripping. Otherwise, wasn't worth it for me to keep spending $200 per month on it. I currently have the free trial so I can see the progress from last year. I have help sell at least 3 teslas so I...
  31. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree...for example, I would pay just for ALC for road tripping. Not $100 per month but something. Or if I had a couple long roadtrips in a month then I would. Although, seems like this feature is being provided by some competitors (i think) so maybe it becomes standard with AP?
  32. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's a cool feature but I can't imagine there are many people that would pay $100 just for their car to park for them. I have tried the auto park feature and I find it easier just to park myself as it goes slow. Even if it could park as quickly and as well as me, no way I would pay $100 per...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Say what? Are you saying this is what you will do if true unsupervised FSD is solved or are you saying this is how you use it now. If you are saying you are doing this now, thats crazy. No way I would text/email, play with kids, etc. while in charge of the car. Its not close to being able to...
  34. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well, it could make more sense to get used EV that was $25k when new. But I agree...if RT were really reliable, then 2 cars between 3 or 4 people could be doable and may make sense for a lot of people. But they would have to be much more reliable compared to what Ubers/Lyft is like in my area.
  35. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I am not sure how anyone with kids could replace the 2nd car. Maybe it would make it unnecessary to get a 3rd car when the kids get their license but this wouldn't be hugely profitable. I would still prefer a $25k tesla for the 3rd car over having to rely on a RT.
  36. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sadly, this is the realization I have come to over the last couple of days. I have been using FSD (now v12.3.4) everyday and I just don't see the value in it of why people in large numbers would pay for it. At best I see it as a replacement for Uber/Lyft, but even with that, it's still a long...
  37. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So basically, sell now if you think autonomy/RTs can’t be solved anytime soon, if at all, or go all in if you think that not only will it be solved in a reasonable time frame but it will also be very profitable.
  38. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t necessarily want to come off as disagreeing with this post as I respect all your contributions here. However, I have seen some of these arguments for RT written here before as if they are a fact but I am having a hard time wrapping my small brain around some of these. Where is everyone...
  39. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I would like a better explanation how there would be a huge reduction of passenger vehicles. Why would a huge amount of people give up their cars? Also, if that did happen, there would still need to be as many cars to move people during rush hour, where are these cars going during the day? They...
  40. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I find it hard to believe that people will give up car ownership in large numbers. Scrapping the $25k car I think would be a huge mistake. As it is, Tesla doesn't have many options for reasonably priced mass produced cars. A sedan and a small crossover, that's it. Very disappointed that they...

I don’t think he personally hates Ukraine. I think he is working for Trump/Russians.
  42. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I love your confidence and hope you are correct. However, when I use FSD 12.3.3 I always come away thinking, sure this is cool tech but it’s nowhere close to being RT ready, if ever. I would need to see big improvements over the next few software versions to even begin thinking RTs are going...

    FSD now $99 a month

I do like ALC. wish I could just get that.
  44. C

    FSD now $99 a month

Maybe it’s location dependent as I always need to take over. I like the tech but becomes more of a hassle for me to use.
  45. C

    FSD now $99 a month

How has it saved your life many times? If anything, I have saved FSDs life many times.
  46. C

    FSD now $99 a month

What makes it worth it even at $99?
  47. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. I just had it do a couple dangerous things and had to turn it off. Scared my wife. maybe it’s a lot different in California but at least for me I don’t see how it would be worth $100 per month.

Those that have gone from a Model X to Cybertruck, are you happy with the switch?

The model Y does what you describe for the mirrors. I would assume the CT is the same unless you saw something different. Also, the model Y doesn't come with homelink either but just make a service ticket and they will come to your house to install it. I would assume they would do the same for...
  49. C

Those that have gone from a Model X to Cybertruck, are you happy with the switch?

I can't help answer your question but I have a question for you. Are you implying that the CT doesn't have auto folding mirrors? That is a bummer as I would want to park in my garage and every inch helps. For homelink, I don't see why you can't have tesla install it on the CT like they did with...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have similar issues. While it is cool tech I still need to disengage multiple times on my 7 mile commute. Especially on the way home out of the city, I don’t even try using it anymore in this situation as it is useless and causes to many problems. I am not sure how they would even fix the...
