So around $20-30 entry divided by 5, divided by 3 ?? That's a nice return.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

And yet in the US Intel Atom FSD cars are getting the new full screen visuals, so there is hope for a future update.

    Mini-bar style markups.

    Jolt EV charging network

Only occasionally use Jolt but with some changes to my regular charger might have to a bit more in the future. So been watching their countdowns here and there on my closest charger, given their FAQ doesn't say much. For many cars, it seems to simply set a 20min clock (basically 7kWh) which is...

And from earlier posts, it should now be at Parramatta. Tesla Parramatta: 13 - 19 May 2024 Tesla Miranda: 20 - 26 May 2024

    Superchargers in Australia

I think there are multiple things contributing to this. Elon is getting investor pressure as sales are slowing and there is a global EV price war, particularly with the Chinese manufacturers, and even some suggestions of high stock levels among various Chinese manufacturers in Europe. And at...

    NRMA fast charging network

Per Neerav a new battery backed Elumina stall to be installed at Mittagong. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/QgxSiRGNxtQVNWyR/?mibextid=oFDknk Couple of these already deployed in Qld. https://techau.com.au/new-nrma-mittagong-rsl-fast-chargers-are-elumina-d1-with-built-in-193kwh-battery/

But ultimately sounds like BYD screwed up. The question is are they going to replace units under warranty, or even clas it as a paid upgrade (like BMW with its CCS1 cars) or so nothing (ergo Nissan and CHAdeMO). And all of that seems to have been avoided in the canned response given to Neerav.

    Evie EV charging networks

Also did it.. kind of a weird survey that could have hidden some questions depending on how you answered others. Also missed a trick imho. I'm a fulltime public charger (large apartment building that is still slowly inching forward) but my decisions for day to day charging are very different to...

To an extent they go together due to the C-rate. Why you can charge a LR/P faster than a RWD/SR+, even when they had the same chemistry

    Include 3rd party chargers..

Already does in some CCS2 markets (Europe, Australia)

I've enagaged lawyers in an attempt to recover FSD cost (Australian owner)

As well as regulatory approval, insurance approval at a reasonable rate... All of which take time. Plus the fact that Tesla still isn't using FSD in the Vegas Boring Co tunnels, a highly regular and controlled environment.

Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

Suspect it's a bit of a see what works strategy. Within those 3 council areas you've got a few different systems - Original council network (mostly 22kW) - Chargefox - $0.42/kWh, spaces marked EV only - Intellihub pole network (22kW) - Exploren - $0.50/kWh, spaces not marked - Glenyar Ave smart...

Chargepoint in US/ Europe (Left Aus some years back) And while their share price has jumped post the Tesla news, it's a much smaller market cap than a few years ago.

    Superchargers in Australia

Which would be fine if Tesla owned the site and there was unlimited power. Unfortunately reality often gets in the way. In the US at the larger sites Tesla has been buying sites, but suspect expanding power is still a crapshoot at existing sites (and still requires employees to negotiate)

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

Some just don't get business concepts. Probably also complains at paying more than $1 for a can in a vending machine, and thinks Coles and Woolworths should have their prices because they are making too much money. And at the same time probably spent $2000 installing a wall charger with a life...

    Superchargers in Australia

Agreed. And if you are looking at building a big battery, or solar farm, what additional risk factor due apply to a bid from Tesla, in case Elon nukes that unit. There's Jack Welsh style 10% cuts, there are deeper cuts, and then there is this
  29. M

    Superchargers in Australia

Too early to tell. An unknown of those Qld projects and 29 in NSW also have government funding and various agreements, so might make it more challenging for Tesla not to roll these out. But I see this more of a blip and delay, rather than total cessation, but probably with greater effort to...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Interesting that this update seems to be going out much more widely in Australia than anywhere else. TeslaFi shows more cars have it in Aus than the US. Are we the new guinea pig market? Or has it been pushed to address the UMC charging issues in 3 Highlands?

    Superchargers in Australia

Of course it's not falling.. but it is a little darker. One of the reasons I and many others bought Tesla's is because of the supercharger network, and an expectation that Tesla (or others) would continue to expand it as EV sales grew. And unsurprisingly Tesla has gotten great market share in...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

    Superchargers in Australia

All of which still requires a charging team doing most of the same thing. Negotiating with site owner, electricity providers, managing contractors etc. And in many cases increasing the amount of power might be expensive or time consuming, or a site owner might not be willing to give up more of...

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

I'd be less worried about this one. More about those yet to commence construction.
  40. M

    Superchargers in Australia

It certainly seems a crazy decision, particularly as the unit was profitable and designed as such per Elons tweets, and a major reason why people buy Tesla's and with their party charging other EVs. Massive loss in corporate knowledge and contacts on projects that are often years in the making...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Normally a few days behind and a staggered rollout. Not sure this is a thing for non-Tesla equipment. Certainly I haven't seen my SoC shown on any third party AC chargers with a screen when charging my 3.
  42. M

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

That's a pretty useful improvement - gives you a sense as to how long someone might be.
  43. M

    Jolt EV charging network

I'd be more OK with reservations if there was some external notification. But with Jolt (mostly single chargers) someone has likely driven up to the charger, parked in the spot, plugged in.. and then fired up the app only to see it says reserved and they can't charge

    Single Phase Charging Options

The UMC is the ultimate solution to range anxiety. In the worst case you have millions of options, just might take a while.

I suspect it's install only on the basis that Tesla already owns the units. The part NSW Govt site was also listed as 6 stalls so possibly it is a changed location.

    Superchargers in Australia

Looks like it's back to the future for Tesla at 118-124 Bourke St Alexandria in Sydney (the original showroom/ service/ delivery centre, now showroom and collision repair) Last week they lodged a DA for 6 V3 superchargers just off the street, in a public area before the gate line (This is...

Definitely some reductions. Standard regional rate has dropped from 70c to 68c/kWh And seemingly even bigger reductions in the cities, with some 30-40c off-peak rates at TOU sites

Tesla owner who falsely claimed car was in autopilot before Melbourne crash pleads guilty

Somewhat interesting that driver didn't even press the brake despite the warnings sounding. The habit in a Tesla need to be to lift at first sign of danger or alerts. (Well other than phantom braking in which case you need to hit the pedal)
  49. M

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yep it's still not common in Android territory. Sorento (and many other cars) do the tailgate via separate dedicated sensor.. and we all know how Elon feels about dedicated sensors (eg. Rain)

I suspect many of the weird location ones are actually duplicates that someone, presumably frustrated with the Plugshare editors, has just moved rather than properly reported
