Yes software upgrades are included in the price calculation of MSRP in terms of the rebate only at point of sale. If you add the software updates after getting the car then it doesn't matter. You have to see which permutation/combination i.e. pre/post sales give you the most bang for the buck.

They say it takes about a week to process the request, in my case it was 4 calendar days. In my case I called Tesla finance and left them a message, they called me the very next day to confirm they have the request in queue.

It is not a matter of revenue, they have been doing this for a few years now. Just makes it easier for them to update in bulk and I think they reconcile VIN numbers and delivery dates and doing it in Jan just gives them more time

You will definitely get it, just be patient back in 2020 when I took the delivery in December they applied the free supercharging in bulk around Jan 10,2021, just confirm with your SA what the latest process is.
