Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My stock investment history is full of wishes. Wouda, couda, shouda. Mutual funds have been very good to me and are the core of my estate, but they never bought me a "free" car and left me with a 7 figure gain.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A majority likely yes, but nowhere even 90%. I for one am very thankful for his purchase of the unmentionable company.

    FSD experience

You're missing the point. Tesla's failure to read these signs means it exits the highway at 65mph into the exit turn, WAY too fast such that an intervention is required. You can criticize HW departments for making those signs yellow but REAL FSD must function in the real world of human...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I could not agree more with this. Think about it from Elon's perspective. Also, "voting shareholders should not be trusted with deciding the future of" SpaceX. Why SpaceX will never do an IPO. I do see SpaceX likely spinning off Skynet (sic) into an IPO, one not run by Elon.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed. Thread on FB about Tesla service center coming to town. Brought out the EV haters. It was easy fun refuting their ignorant claims. 256 replies and NOT ONE mentioned Elon Musk or Twitter/X. People are indifferent. It's the EV vs My gas car issue, not I hate Tesla because of tweets.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yes Elon has said his objective is to be the "Least Wrong" as is possible. This engineer loves this attitude. This implies that a prior strategy or opinion can get radically changed as new information is obtained. Many interpret any change in direction as "Elon lied!" This explains a lot about...

It is a Disagree button. I use it to Disagree. I agree that piling on with posts after a perceived (eye of beholder) troll has been responded to clutters the forum.

    FSD experience

Agree wholeheartedly. Major steps forward. My gripe list: VERY S L O W proceeding after stops at a STOP sign. All these cameras & processing per should be faster, not slower, than a 90 yr old. Exits highway ramps at highway speeds. DANGEROUS. Root problem: doesn't read any Yellow background...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Elon's mean tweets are irritating potential customers and hurting sales. All my friends say this. Only 2% or less people read or follow twitter and as such it is an utter PR failure for Musk's messages. Same people. Different threads.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Disagree. Problem being that the FSD still hesitates far longer than a human before proceeding. Drives like a 90 year old at stop signs. C'mon man, you (Tesla) have more cameras than we have eyes plus Tesla can look ahead and left and right simultaneously even before coming to a fulll stop. USE...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Despite Tesla being around a while, the Tesla CEO still has the startup mentality. I'm retired now but in my 1st engineering jobs I put in 70 HR weeks. It was noticed and co-workers on the rise who later left for other companies and managers who were not my own noticed it and I forever had...

Or seeking advice on how best to do another 10% workforce cut! I hope I'm joking. Speaking not as a stockholder in this post but as a person sympathetic with hard working people. Doubt many slackers are employed at Tesla.

I buy #3. Love it and I now love driving for the 1st time in my life. As to #2, I have FSD latest release. It tried to cause serious accidents every other time I use it. It misses highway speed limit signs, exits the highway at 65mph ignoring 30mph speed limit signs. It's not relaxing to use...

I also hope he stays until ready to "Get yo' *** to Mars!" time. However, I disagree about how you framed your leaving over shareholder vote scenario. Elon said, paraphrased, that he nees the shares because he believes it is vitally important to work on AI and unless he has a significant...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I pretty much agree. Musk has said as much though it's his typical hyperbole. I'm in long for the AI & robotics stuff. Robo taxi is many years off based on my FSD experiences. Tougher than Optimus factory, etc. implementation because of an unconstrained huge environment vs a factory task.

12.3.3 experiences Great improvement over 11 releases, however... Exits highway at full speed. Not safe. Generic need to read yellow speed signs here in NH. Not hard to implement. Friggin Do It! Since now we're into allowing FSD discussions, as a Beta guy with the latest I would have but did not disengage twice this morning. Came upon wet roads and car slowed to 2 MPH twice. Well under a half inch and later maybe almost a 2 inch deep water encounter. Would have bailed FSD had anyone...

This is clearly true. You cats rarely get emotionally attached to your servants' cars, called "Going to the Vet syndrome", while dogs love riding in cars, head out the window and mouth open. Walking on car hoods, windshields and roofs with paw prints does not count as emotional attachment.

Agreed. Southern NH here. When using the MA service center, the big issue is we cannot take new car delivery without paying MA sales tax. I had to use Paramus NJ. It's a selfish position but my target is buy 1,000 shares if price approaches $100/share. High interest rates killing car loans. Small inexpensive Tesla 3 years away in volume. As a recent (2019) but long term investor I'm looking for major appreciation towards decade's end. Why so long...

Myriad problems with that: Rivian has a mfg cost BIG problem. Outsourcing to Foxconn strategy won't help with that. I note that you just said MAY but I strongly disagree. Musk will not risk diluting his SpaceX control position. It's a core value that he needs to control SpaceX independent of anyone(s) else.
