I have this too, the rubbing noise it makes can be annoying. I put it down to the way I seat in the drivers seat (slightly leaning towards the centre arm rest where I rest my left arm). Applying some Gummi Pflege to the contact areas every couple of months fixes the noise for me.

buying the hardware is all well and good but the best bit for me about tesla SUC is the software integration and how seamless it is. Will EG (and BP) have access to the Tesla software (white label version) or have to develop their own software.

I have managed to get the Map tiles working again by switching to Wifi connectivity (Hotspot from Moby) wait for the tiles to reappear and then switch back to LTE connectivity. Again not ideal but better then pulling over and doing a two button reset/Wait for the car to go to sleep.
