    Battery Fuse Replacement 2016 Model S 90D

Just to continue adding my experience: I have a service appt schedule for a couple weeks from now at the Van Ness service center in San Francisco. The estimate is $0.00/covered under warranty (my 8 yr battery/drive unit warranty expires this June). I'm driving the vehicle 300 mi to get there...

    Battery Fuse Replacement 2016 Model S 90D

Confirmed-- supercharging still works as normal with the fuse replacement alert showing. Yay

    Battery Fuse Replacement 2016 Model S 90D

I've had the warning light for a couple weeks and the car is driving fine. Read this entire thread. I noted Jason Hughes' assessment that the vehicle power will slowly decline to prevent a catastrophic failure, but I'm not that concerned-- it sounds like the timespan is about a year. However...

    Model S Boot Size

If you look closely you can see the measurements of the boxes on the boxes... this is a 5 ft wide bath vanity and top from Home Depot. Easy peasy.

How to plan a road trip - how long will it take?

Wow, impressive tripping!! Similarly, my confidence is very high now after doing the trip I describe above (I had forgotten about posting this while researching long road trips...). The leg I was concerned about-- Weaverville to Susanville-- was absolutely no problem, except for the fact we...

    Supercharger - Windsor, CA (LIVE 5 Nov 2021, 12 V3 stalls)

Stopped heading north from bay area on Sunday 10/16/22. Relatively close to 101, chargers are easily accessible from the main access road, short walk to Raley's and other amenities. Used the bathroom in Raley's-- they have like 5-6 unisex ones, I had to pass on like the first 2-3 when I opened...

Supercharger - Ukiah, CA - North State Street (LIVE 14 Sep 2022, 12 stalls)

Folks-- just a heads up-- this is a front-in, backup-out location. You don't always have to back in;) Stopped here heading south on a recent trip down to the city. Very easy on/off freeway (much better than original Ukiah SC...), lots of amenities nearby, bathroom in the gas station next...

Tesla CCS1 Combo Adapter Available in the U.S.

What hardware module would this be? I was hoping this would just be a simple software update... electrons are electrons.

    Supercharger - Weaverville, CA (LIVE 10 Feb 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

Please keep telling everybody the bad stories about Eureka. We're managing to keep the gentrification factor down considerably despite all the artists. You are correct-- Eureka STINKS, is filled with drug-addled homeless people, and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. STAY AWAY!

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

Thanks for this reply. Tire shop ended up recommending reversing the orientation of the rear tires, so the inner wear was on the outside, the fat part on the inside, to give me more wear/life as I wait for the N2itive links. After I get those, install, and do yet another alignment, I'll buy...

    Supercharger - San Francisco, CA - 16th St (LIVE 7 Jul 2023, 12 stalls)

Why? I mean outside of whatever HOA etc. hassles you may have. Having a charger in your garage, having the car charged to whatever level you want, every time you use it, never having to go to another 'station' again to fill up-- this is one of the greatest joys of EV ownership IMO.

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

I have to 2nd your assessment here-- it's the perfect abstract location at the junction of Hwy 1 and Sir Francis Drake, but it's a tiny, busy lot. Fortunately I've driven past here all the way to Fort Brag from Marin City with zero problem, but still. There will be some bitter ICEing on this cake.

    Battery cooling and energy used

Hi, searched but didn't find exact answer I'm looking for. I recently did a ~3500 mi road trip (Eureka CA to Rapid City SD to Denver CO back to Eureka). Performance was amazing and I was surprised that my lifetime energy use rate went from 328 whr/mi to 322 whr/mi over the course of the trip...

    Supercharger - Grand Junction, CO

I got paltry charge rates at this SC recently. I vaguely remember 50kw max and the stalls were packed. We were headed West to Moab and seemed to take forever to top us up to the limited 80% charge due to high demand, and when we got back to the car, there was a Model 3 waiting-- seems like...

Supercharger - Reno, NV - Sierra St.

We avoided this SC eastbound on a recent 3500 mi road trip since it seemed like it was going to be a traffic jam downtown (passing through around 5 pm), and I thought there was going to be a charge to enter the parking garage. As others said, no charge, $$$ that is, to get into the SCs. We had...

    Supercharger - Edwards, CO

Stopped here for our first charge westbound from Denver area recently. It's a little oddly tucked away, tricky to enter parallel to the Wendy's drive thru.. But after that it was a great fast charging experience. Lots of amenities close by.

    Supercharger - Lusk, WY

During recent road trip including to/from Rapid City SD we stopped here both directions. It's a funny old SC but worked great for us to get further along. We travel with 3 dogs and they enjoyed the grassy area while we waited. Sorry I didn't know charging speed etc. but I also don't remember...

    Supercharger - Susanville, CA (LIVE 29 Sep 2021, 8 V3 stalls)

Stopped here to charge in early June on a very long road trip (heading from Eureka CA to Winnemucca NV that day). The out-of-the-wayness of the location is a bit of a pain, as is the route to get there from the West. Partner and I found the casino to be the typical smoke-filled palace. We...

How to plan a road trip - how long will it take?

Wow, the first part of this thread reads like a time capsule from the days when the SCs weren't as common. Fun! I agree the best advice is to break up the drive with charging stops. It's also healthiest-- you shouldn't be sitting for more than 2-3 hrs at a time anyhow... We also travel a lot...

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

Right, but based on everything I've read, been told, and come to understand, including esp. N2itive's website and their alignment procedure/spec with their kits, the way to go is to get to the N2itive camber spec (-1.0 camber, .20 toe) with the car in the Low air suspension setting. That will...

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

My main and really only goal is to improve tire wear/longevity. If the shudder doesn't really happen to me at this point, I'm calling it good. The car has 76k mi on it now. I have 3 months of comprehensive CPO warranty left. I hope it doesn't let loose right after that, that's all. But once...

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

Is there anything then to their shudder kit? I have felt the shudder in my car, but I understand the principle of not getting on the go fast pedal when the suspension is up high and the driveshaft angles are more extreme. I actually haven't felt shudder for a while, just when car was new to me...

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

So, this is one of those apologies where I should have read a bunch of threads before posting, but I really had zero idea what was going on when I posted. I do see the N2itive stuff now and have been reading up, watching videos, looking at alternatives. Thanks. So-- I see that N2itive...

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

Hi, my CPO 90D had new tires (OEM Goodyear Eagle T1) put on the rear before I purchased it in 2020. Nearly 2 years and 14k mi later, the front tires were wearing very badly and getting thin, so I had them replaced with same tire as the rear, hoping to get some decent miles out of the set with...

Supercharger - Fort Bragg, CA (LIVE 21 May 2021, 12 stalls)

As previously mentioned, we had a good dinner at Cucina Verona. Food was not the greatest having just come from the city, but the service and ambience were really good. Seems like a big locals spot as well as tourists. Nice vibe. We were there in early November, pre-Omicron. COVID etiquette...

Supercharger - Fort Bragg, CA (LIVE 21 May 2021, 12 stalls)

I 2nd the idea that Fort Bragg is really not much farther north from Mendo (esp. with the SC on the south side of town) and a nice place to visit. The shopping center has some food options, so would be a fine, cheap lunch stop. We took a nice walk from our hotel (across Hwy 1 from SC) down to...

Extremely Disappointed With Model S Range When Driving on the Highway at 35F

Do you really want to drive for more than 4-5 hrs at a stretch? I don't. My favorite part of this whole lifestyle is that I'm forced to take a break at reasonable intervals. No more driving from Boulder CO to LA in one shot, which I did once in my 20s. Nuts. Seems like you have the perfect...

Supercharger - Fort Bragg, CA (LIVE 21 May 2021, 12 stalls)

OK, just spent the night in Fort Bragg and used this SC last night. Drove from San Francisco, leaving with 92% charge from Marin City SC. Hwy 1 the entire way. Arrived in Fort Bragg with ~30% charge. Gorgeous day to be driving up the coast! After dinner about 9 pm I parked the Tesla and...

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

I drove through on Saturday 11/13 and this^^^ assessment is spot-on. The parking lot was full from regular tourist traffic. The lot is really small. You only have the single-proprietor restaurant etc. there to spend time in, and it's $$$. I wonder if all these factors have led to a...

Supercharger - Fort Bragg, CA (LIVE 21 May 2021, 12 stalls)

Thanks for this very detailed assessment. I live just south of Trinidad, CA and travel the 101 corridor often back and forth to SF. Will be taking the coast on my next trip thanks to the Fort Bragg SC. But I'm starting to wonder about my 2016 MS 90D with it's 294 EPA mile range if conditions...

    Supercharger - Weaverville, CA (LIVE 10 Feb 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

This is a fantastic addition to the network, absolutely perfect general location on Hwy 299. I wish it were closer to the older section of town, as there are far more appealing things to walk around and see, but I don't think you have the parking lot space like in this shopping center. I really...

Supercharger - Fort Bragg, CA (LIVE 21 May 2021, 12 stalls)

Awesome! Been watching this one too-- ironically, just spent the weekend in SF. Had I known this was going to be up on Friday, might have taken the long coast route down or back (to/from Northern Humboldt county...). So glad this hole is plugged! With a 90D, I think I'm good from here to the...

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

Forgive my ignorance, or if I missed this, and at the risk of getting off-topic since this isn't the SETEC adapter, but has anybody tried this?: https://www.evseadapters.com/products/ccs1-tesla-adapter/ $800 is way too spendy for me, especially when it's sounding like the SETEC adapter at $460...

Another front suspension control arm failure

Hahaha yeah I hear you, but honestly, aside from this issue, this is by far the greatest car I've ever been in, let alone driven, let alone owned. I am so glad I took all the risks and sacrifices to make this happen, and even this issue doesn't scare me. I could fix this myself on a Saturday...

Another front suspension control arm failure

Just read this whole thread and it is very concerning. I have a CPO June 2016 90D Model S with air suspension purchased in Aug. 2020 currently with ~67k mi. Everything about the car is (nearly) perfect except it has a tendency to follow grooves in pavement, wheels deflect and follow bumps, it...

    Replacing front upper A-arms

Could I also ask, how many miles on your car? And did you notice anything wrong in the front end/steer/etc. beforehand? Did it fix anything/tighten stuff up? I'm asking because my CPO 2016 90D readily follows grooves in the pavement, and the steering will deflect and follow bumps/potholes...
