    Supercharger team sacked?

I watched as much of the Munro video as I could stomach. I've enjoyed the teardowns etc ever since they started making videos of them, but this was the first time I've heard Sandy saying you had no furhter need for an R&D dept as you already had the best charger. Given that SuC have developed...

    Supercharger team sacked?

I can see you're trying to be constructive here, but the figures are way out.. Commercial costs for electricity are significantly higher than the domestic energy price. So your 26p/kWh is not accurate. I don't have business rates, but the reason most other suppliers are charging 70-80p/kWh is...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Just wondering why you only have 62.5k miles total allowed, have you only covered12.5k miles in the first 4 years?

    Supercharger team sacked?

I saw a comment on a social thread yesterday that went, "the MSM are playing draughts while Elon is playing chess." My initial thought was that a) there isn't much reporting in the MSM, it seems to be mostly Tesla owners reacting on SM, and b) what happens if the game actually is draughts and...

Octopus Founders - a little thankyou from Octopus

That's encouraging. I suspect if you live in an area with consistent RM staffing, it probably works.

Octopus Founders - a little thankyou from Octopus

I filled that in several years ago. It made not the slightest difference. We have a different postie most days - the chance of any communication needed to make sure these opt-outs are heeded is approx. zero. RM rely on their income from all the junk ad material, so I suspect they treated my copy...

    Positive Service Experience!

My experience of Leeds has been excellent. Two SC visits and two ranger visits. All gone perfectly. I think Leeds is up there as one of the best SCs in the country from the stories I see about some of the others.

LFP Model Y battery drain whilst on Holiday

Just worth pointing out that if you're using an airport parking service and they take your key to go park the car elsewhere, or might move it whilst you're away, then you need to turn Sentry off using the slider in the safety menu before you leave it and make sure that has been done for the...

    Supercharger team sacked?

At least one comment said it was just another hit piece like the Reuter's one about Model 2... Given that the link I posted was to the senior site acquisition manager, its not beyond the realms of possibility that losing folk like that will impact network expansion. I've long been a supporter...

    Supercharger team sacked?

For those saying this was another made up, Fred / Electrek FUD story earlier in this thread, here's a link to George Bahadue's (formerly Sr. Manager, Site Acquisition and Business Development - Commercial Charging, at Tesla - until 3.34am today) Linked In post about his dismissal.

    Octopus IOG, Zappi and Eco+

You just need to temporarily turn off your smart-charging in the Octopus App, go to the menu (top left head/face icon), select Devices, your Intelligent device, then scroll down and move the smart charging slider left. When you plug in, even on Eco+, IO detects the connection and tries to create...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Is this why loads of SuC have become open to all overnight here? Revenge? Just opening up all the one's planned before they get made redundant?

Octopus Founders - a little thankyou from Octopus

I also got this in the post today, having inexplicably received the points a few days ago. I'd already banked them before I was offered today's opportunity to exchange them for a T-shirt. I really rate Octopus, but this seems like unnecessary waste to me. I haven't scratched off the map yet, but...

Tesla Approved-Used vs. Parkers, CAP etc. price chasm

Tesla approved used come with an additional year's warranty and most have had EAP added too, which explains some of the discrepancy. Sorry you've had a write-off - presume you didn't have a GAP policy?

    UK Pricing piss take

I suspect there's a ton of Model Y to shift before the facelift version appears. The UK prices might reduce a bit, but we do also have bank interest rates 0.75% higher than the EU bank rate right now.
  17. B

    UK Pricing piss take

...apart from offering Model Y at 0.5% on HP & 1.8% on PCP. I reckon that's pretty competitive finance-wise.

New owner here. Got a question…

I suspect the main issue here is doing multiple short journeys. It has been colder these past few days and the car will comfortably use 2kWh or more just warming up the cabin AND the battery. Remember, every time you drive, if the battery is cold (below 10-15 degrees) it will use some energy to...

Have a look at the inventory listings on Tesla-info.com as that allows you to search for tow pack and it’s generally wider than just auto trader.

    New Navigation Supercharger Prediction

This has been showing for a couple of years at least. I've been in a couple of big storms in France and they've shown up on the Nav well before encountering them. It seems to only do it when its properly windy or stormy though.

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Presume you had to tick the box which said your car was still in warranty? Also presuming they'll honour it as you'd emailed in before it expired?
  22. B

    [UK] 2024.8.x

You are right - this is listed as an undocumented change at notateslaapp.

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Can see what this actually covers, the exclusions list seems extensive. Computer modules probably the most likely units to be pricey, or the main screen.
  24. B

    [UK] 2024.8.x

Presuming you don't have an LFP battery.. With mine, it only offered the one-time question when it was plugged in and I changed the charge limit to over 80%. Has worked for me twice since the update, each time it automatically reverted to 80% after the charge had finished. I guess the only...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

I'm pretty close to running out soon, 47k and just hit the three year mark. If we do email that address, what happens if we have an issue with the car once the warranty has expired but before any of us have heard anything back? I very much doubt they'll do free repairs on the basis we might buy...
  26. B

    [UK] 2024.8.x

It is THE update, but mainly because I've had (mostly) dumb Matrix lights fitted for the last three years. The dip beam has been much improved since the end of last year. When I went to France in January, my dipped beam adjusted as I drove out of the Chunnel exit in France. It visibly moved from...

    [UK] 2023.44

It is sort of obvious, but perhaps with RHD your hand obscures the pop-up which you'd see more clearly if you were driving LHD. When you click the left button the wipers wipe, but each time you do this the wiper control screen pop-up also appears for a few seconds with all wiper options and...
  28. B

    [UK] 2024.8.x

If there are installs in Australia, then there isn’t a RHD issue, therefore delayed rollout here, which has been speculated on SM at least.

    Charging anomalies M3 & Zappi

I've had all sorts of issues with charging my M3 on my mum's Zappi. Ours works fine and we never have an issue (our Zappi is a couple of month's newer), but when I charge at hers I get all sorts of interruptions, charge delayed and failed charges. I've worked around it by reducing the current to...

    Run-away I-PACE, really?

I saw that report and thought its more likely to be driver error. I did wonder if the foot mat moved so that it covered or restricted access to the brake pedal, or was over the throttle and keeping it pressed down. Other thought was cruise control being accidentally engaged or set speed...

    Unreliable charging using Intelligent Octopus

@Spikey.B you can set up the Zappi to run a Timed Boost for 6 hrs from 11.30pm, then leave it set on Eco+ mode and the car will charge from 11.30pm as required (you need to disable smart charging in devices in the Octopus App, otherwise your Tesla will try to smart charge at other times). I...

    Windscreen replacement cost!

My sentry mode saved some of the workshop time and there was a Tesla branded target set up in front of the car with various markings on it which the cameras were clearly aimed at / calibrated against before the test drive was done. By the time I got the car back, the cameras were ready for AP...

    Windscreen replacement cost!

I was chatting with an Autoglass Tech last week. He told me they have a Model 3 or Model Y into their depot every single day for a screen replacement. He says the screen is pretty big compared with many cars, so has a higher chance of being hit, but also due to the size its a two person job to...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Hmmm. The old extended warranty had to be taken out before 4 yrs / 50k miles had elapsed, otherwise it wouldn't be offered. Helvetia withdrew from the market at the end of December, so I don't know who your dealer (do you mean Tesla service centre) was referring to. At present, the website says...

Trailer Mode and a bike rack

I carry bikes on the tow hitch quite often. It automatically turns on trailer mode as soon as the rack is plugged into the electrics. Once you turn off trailer mode, the accessories light shows, but autopilot becomes available again.
  41. B

Trailer Mode and a bike rack

Best to turn off Trailer mode in the menu when driving with a bike rack, as I think trailer mode also changes how the car responds if you were to lose control, be in an accident etc. You can just turn trailer mode off after you've attached the carrier - the lights will all still work as they...

    Highland Efficiency

These look like good figures, but your average speed we around 30mph, so goes a good way to explaining it. I've kept a Do Not Reset trip meter running since I got my M3 in March '21 so I have a lifetime average (251 Wh/mi after 45k). I think you'll find a longer trip at 70mph will see figures...

    [UK] 2023.44

I posted a thread about this behaviour a while back here.. It may be a more serious issue, but could well be that it needs to sleep fully to enable the AP computer to reboot.

    [UK] 2023.44

I installed 30.9 this morning. It then followed up with a NAV update to 2024.2-14843. I'm not sure what difference that will make, but its done.

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Anyone checked out the Cleevely EV Warranty? Underwritten by A1 Warranty in Leeds - £400 per year, any age vehicle any mileage. Perhaps worth considering once the Tesla motor and battery warranties expire. Max payout of 2.5k per claim though. EDIT - Remembered them mentioning a specific battery...

    2024 Insurance Costs

When I looked into it, Flex appears to be online only with no way of speaking to a person if you need to. Also no option to add cover abroad (at least to cover beyond 3rd party only). I steered well clear of it..

Yes, apologies, its another tyre thread - but after searching the UK forum, I can't see any posts on either Falken EuroAll Season AS210 or Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 on M3 18" wheels. I'm thinking about swapping over my PilotSports for the rest of the Winter and whilst I'm aware many owners...
