    Carbon Spoiler Separating

The install went find. The most critical detail would be sticking the top before the bottom. I adhered the bottom well and then struggled with the top. I actually had to take a plastic rod with squeeze clamps along the seam to hold it down. Now that it is bonded I have no issues. I made the...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

I went with the Perelli Sottozero 2 tires. They are the only ones I could find in the 265/40/20

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

265/40r20 works great for rim protection. I’m running that size for winter tires on factory turbines. At 70 on the Speedo your really doing 69. Really no big deal.

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

True regen does brake with the rear wheels, however your input on the accelerator determines the amount of regen. If your careful and use the accelerator as a brake (meaning don’t fully disengage the accelerator) then it brakes fine. I’ve found if needed I have my right foot on the accelerator...

Cleaning dogs saliva of the seats?

Yes it does clean off old marks. Sometimes I go a month or so before I clean them. I can grab pictures tonight if you would like? They look the same as the day I brought them home. I originally tried wiping them down with baby wipes/water only, but that does not clean the seats. To keep the...

    Windshield Water Leakage

You realize that all service centers for pretty much any manufacturer are busy at the moment. It is normal to need to schedule service. At least they are coming out via mobile service to fix it. Could’ve always pulled the front trunk liner and tried to diagnose.

    Phone as key never works!

I’m with the fob category. Just couldn’t get my phone to function correctly all the time. If you don’t want to carry a fob then learn to deal with connectivity issues. It’s one or the other at the moment. From my experience Tesla isn’t the problem. Generally it is the phone software as my old...

Cleaning dogs saliva of the seats?

I actually changed things up. I keep Cloud (our pup) in the back with the one linked below. Made for the Y and easy to keep clean as he can’t drool on the door panels. I’ve been using this one for several months now. BMZX Tesla Model Y Trunk Mat...

    Dashcam Options/Recommendations

No. You can save clips if needed. I haven’t found the need for needing more than an hour of footage as saving footage is limited to storage amount. I just have a 256 GB hard drive.

How does Tesla sense and alert vehicles in their blind spots?

Already has software that looks for fast approaching vehicles. It beeps at you if you have your turn signal on and attempt to move into another lane. Most people are just used to it beeping when the turn signal is activated. Tesla does it differently. Both options work. I’ve just adjusted to the...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

The only downside to the crossclimate 2s is they are considered more of a grand touring tire. From what I have read anyway. What is your thoughts on them? I looked at them but I have 2 sets of wheels so I wasn’t looking for an all season. I was looking for high performance for winter and summer...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

If it’s any help I bought mine from a local tire shop. They were cheaper than tire rack/discount tire and offer free rotations. At the end of winter/summer they swap sets and store the set I’m not currently using.

    MY Door Trim Discoloration

The manual washes don’t use the same caustic soap that the automatic washes use. The automatics use such caustic soap to try to get the vehicle clean without having to touch it or get close with sprayers. We have an auto car wash here in MO that doesn’t hurt my trim to run through. I’ve only...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

Side note: sorry for the dirty vehicle. It is getting a bath this afternoon. Also @WG21 I thought the M3P 20s didn’t have the weight rating that the Y needs?

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

Photos attached. I went with the Sottozero 2s as they offer great handling. I was more interested in handling with occasional snow use. I can’t speak for snow yet but they perform quite nicely in cold weather. I would venture to say they give my PS4S Michelin’s a run for their money. Not as...

    MY Door Trim Discoloration

A lot of people wrapped the original chrome that came on the model 3s. I believe those have held up really well. We used to have a Camaro with vinyl stripes. They were 10 years old and still looked good. Vinyl is quite resilient and a good installer will make it look perfect. One advantage would...

    MY Door Trim Discoloration

For everyone that is having the discoloration it would be cheaper to have the trim wrapped in vinyl than replacement. Replacing the trim means this problem will likely return. Just wrap it in matte black vinyl and use dry thru car washes to your hearts content. Ours is almost a year old but trim...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

For anyone interested I went with 265/40 R20s for my winter set. I strictly did this as I wanted protection for the 20 inch inductions. The 265s set the rims inside of the tire wall so you won’t curb them. The 266/40r20 is also a little taller so they have helped ride quality. This is the only...

Can I get a FOB for MYLR?

Oh no not even close. You have to hit the trunk & frunk button twice in rapid sequence. If there is a second delay between the two presses it doesn’t work. I don’t think it is possible to accidentally open the trunk or frunk. At least in my opinion. The only thing I have accidentally done is...

Wipers don't work properly in Auto

For those that have issues with the auto wipers. Try putting a coating on the windshield (ceramic, rain x, piaa, etc) as that has fixed all of my complaints. The wipers have issues when fog or streaking begins to develop on the windshield.
  24. Schulz1983

Can I get a FOB for MYLR?

Holding up well! I use it everyday now and never rely on my phone. I feel like the button for the frunk is a little hard to press if I am nitpicking. I would buy it again though. Just have to use my thumb when I’m popping the frunk

MYP in Wisconsin winters/ I need help with tire/wheels

I’m not sure about winter tires but chose Sottozero 2s. We don’t get as much snow as you guys so I was going for a more performance oriented tire than a true 18” of snow tire. If we get anything over 8-10” the city pretty well shuts down. We just stay home as no one knows how to drive in the...

    Tesla shield business practice

For all that is criticizing Tesla Shields know they offered a preorder discount. I knowing paid in advance to get a better price. It was a little more difficult than it should’ve been to get a refund once they kept pushing out delivery. He ultimately did do the refund though.

    Tesla shield business practice

He did the same to me. I sent another email and referenced the date of my first request. That got the ball rolling and he finally refunded the deposit. I think he is just busy at the moment with relying on over seas suppliers. Should’ve found someone here in the states to make them with all the...

2021 Model Y Tire Options for better ride & range

I think I will get about 22k-25k out of a set of ps4s. Not great but I’m also not easy on it. Tires are kinda whatever to me. I want a great set that handles amazing and willing to replace when needed. The PS4s just handle and ride so well. Just installed Sottozero 2s today on the factory...

2021 Model Y Tire Options for better ride & range

Only downside to the Induction wheels are the horrible Goodyear tires they come with. Within 2000 miles I had picked up two holes in those tires (maybe just bad luck). I ended up ditching them and putting Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on with summer wheels. Inductions are at the tire shop right...

    MY Door Trim Discoloration

Have you considered just getting the black trim covered with black vinyl? It would be cheaper than $800 and wouldn’t cause issues if you go thru an auto wash? Just curious as I have never been thru an auto wash and my trim looks fine. I only wash at home but could sometimes see the allure of an...

    MY Door Trim Discoloration

What is your mobile detailer using for soap? Acid? I’ve always cleaned my vehicle at home and have never had this happen. I hear about this happening to people who go thru the automatic drive thru. This should never happen when cleaning at home.

iOS 15 - phone key keeps disconnecting

Completely agree. The Bluetooth remains on while driving for me as well. I just don’t have to worry about using it as a key.

iOS 15 - phone key keeps disconnecting

Key fob is totally optional. I chose to go that route to avoid the hassles and first world problems. I can either come on here and complain about something I can’t fix, or I can do something about it. I chose to buy a key fob to avoid the hassle. May the force be with you.
  43. Schulz1983

iOS 15 - phone key keeps disconnecting

That’s how I feel. The positive side effect to the key fob: makes taking it into someplace outside of Tesla a lot easier. A local tire shop handles all my tire rotations & winter/summer swap out. I always watch the sentry footage and it takes them 5 minutes to unlock the doors with the key card...

Angry no Homelink and now no premium connectivity:

I was super mad when I found out I had to pay for my premium connectivity on my Jeep when it expired after a year. Oh and I also had to buy navigation disks yearly if I wanted to keep my nav up to date. I was steaming mad when I found out I had to get oil changes, transmission flushes...

iOS 15 - phone key keeps disconnecting

I used to have this problem quite a bit on IOS. Decided to buy the key fob and now I never have connection issues. I think the key fob is the best way to go. The phone as key was to finicky for me.

Model Y not recognizing me when I try to open it, even with the app on

Correct. You can remove phone as key and still have access to the app. Also, Bluetooth connects when in the vehicle for things like calling, text messaging and listening to music.

    TPMS for 2021 Model Y

I created a service request with the other selected. I stated I needed 4 sensors and would be picking up from the SC. SC messaged me and said they were ready for pickup. They leave the service request open as they need that for you to pay anyway. SCs stock them.

Model Y not recognizing me when I try to open it, even with the app on

I left both programmed to the vehicle. Doesn’t seem to cause any issues. If you need to leave your phone in your car simply turn off Bluetooth. Vehicle will lock auto when you walk away. If you need to leave the fob you will have to manually lock it. I haven’t had any negative effects from...
