I think a 2019 SR+ did not yet have the LFP batteries.

Extending the Tesla Wall Connector [UK]

Interesting - that’s not how they advertised it a couple of years ago.

Extending the Tesla Wall Connector [UK]

    Got it from EVCables.

Extending the Tesla Wall Connector [UK]

I run a type 2 extender. I think it’s technically frowned upon and pretty sure some users will give you the run down. That said it has been faultless for two years. Worth to mention that I house the connection in a junction box.

    Insurance troubles May 2023

Same here. What is going on?
  6. C

    Insurance troubles May 2023

Is this voluntary excess or total. At the moment they always quote £150 voluntary and then a compulsory of anywhere £400-600.

    Insurance troubles May 2023

Has anybody managed to secure a sub £1k premium this or last months. I am getting quoted nearly double last years premium which is ridiculous.

    Tesla Referral Relaunch

good luck getting any referral that way - not that they amount to much though
  9. C

    Tesla Referral Relaunch

Not sure why my post and referral was deleted. Yes - everybody who has an account will have a referral link and it will lead to a number of links, but how would somebody who does not have a car find one. Surely this would be the place?

    Supercharger preconditioning

If you are not in a hurry battery preconditioning does not make sense at all.

[Tyres] Kumho Solus 4S HA32 (All Season) - Anyone Running these?

Tesla should actually just fit the all-season tyres from factory. I now have a semi used set of PS4 in the garage that I will have to use up at some point. Waste of resource and money.

[Tyres] Kumho Solus 4S HA32 (All Season) - Anyone Running these?

Yep, exactly as I said: So, it's perfectly fine to drive in Dec at 15 degrees in the sunshine on the motorway on summer tyres, if it starts snowing and you get stuck or cause an accident you get in trouble"

Has anyone sued Tesla for FSD costs?

I just can't believe people actually trusted that statement - even then. There was no law that allowed the level of FSD that Tesla advertised, and still isn't (happy for lawyers to chip in).
  14. C

[Tyres] Kumho Solus 4S HA32 (All Season) - Anyone Running these?

It's the same in Germany. There is no law that says you need to fit winter tyres. BUT, if you have an accident or cause an obstruction in the winter and have inadequate tyres fitted you will get fined. So, it's perfectly fine to drive in Dec at 15 degrees in the sunshine on the motorway on...

Has anyone sued Tesla for FSD costs?

I am not surprised that people are pissed. However, it was clear at the time that FSD did not work and people 'bought' it based on a promise that was not honoured, to date. What I don't understand why people ordered it anyway? You could always subscribe to it at any point in the future, why were...

    MYLR Steering Rack Failure

I had my steering wheel on my MR3LR replaced last month. Took them a couple of weeks to source the part, it was then fitted in a day. The car was drivable in the meantime, so no problem waiting. The parts were £1,600 or so plus labour of 4 hours (replaced under warranty).
  17. C

    M3LR Squeaky Steering

I had a noise coming from the steering column at low speeds. At first they replaced the control and, but it then transpired that it was the steering column itself that was making a grating sound (first I thought it was rubbing against a heat shield). They replaced the column and the noise had gone.

Car failing to start charge in the cold

Come to think, the charger should be locked into place which should prevent ice build up from dislodging it. Probably more likely it's another reason.
  19. C

Car failing to start charge in the cold

Just wondering, could it be that the charger connection was wet when you plugged in it in and then the port froze overnight which might have 'disconnected' the plug enough for it to register as not properly connected and thus not charging.

    [UK] Price cuts

Haha, that's good. I don't worry about depreciation of a vehicle, it will happen. You won't get my money ;)
  21. C

    [UK] Price cuts

Slightly off topic, but I do love driving the M3 - it really is a fun car to drive with a great driving position, handling and visibility... and I came from a M2 (BMW)... So, stop worrying about the price (this car is not an investment, get an old Porsche if you need that) and enjoy the ownership.

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Had my Model3 in for a service and took a look at the Model Y. Nice car, but from the inside you can't see where the bonnet ends. I know that this is common with other cars and older cars I drove without USS. However I am now so used to the USS which I rely on daily in a tight multi storey car...

    Waste of money!!!

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Saw the new models in the showroom when dropping mine off for a new steering rack. No USS sensors in the bumpers. I would not get another Model3 at this moment in time. Love my car as it is, but not the current model. Mad idea to remove the sensors, I need them every day.

    Which all seasons for m3?

I run the CC2. They are working in the snow and I had no issues in the summer. Fit and forget thinking about tyres.

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Will they switch off the USS on existing cars???

High power usage when idle / parked

You don’t have sentry mode activated at home at any chance? That would explain the power drain you mentioned.

Options for Tesla repairs in Glasgow?

Similar problem in the same area. My insurance went with L@I Eaton in Edinburgh. Took two weeks to fix, but this depended on parts coming from Tesla.

    Your Model 3 Maximum Range?

Maybe a silly question, but is the range read out linked with the app. My app shows 336 miles for a 100% charge. Will this change in the app as well or is it ‘dumb’?
  31. C

    Average Energy

    Sounds spot on.
  32. C

    2022 cold weather range?

I definitely do not manage 270 miles in the winter in my 21 LR!!! Also, who ever drives a car from 100% to 0%. Maybe 90% battery usage at best, otherwise you get into squeaky bum territory.

    M3 MIC 2021 tail lights

I don’t get it. This is not like a BMW facelift when the lights actually look different even when not in use. The lights on the Model 3 are virtually indistinguishable when not in use no matter which version one has - apart from when it’s fogged up.

    Michelin CrossClimate 2 issues

New tyres are a bit “slippy” the first hundred miles or so until the tyre butter from the moulding process has been worn off. Is this maybe what the OP is experiencing. Just ease a bit on the throttle. I use CC2s all round and have not noticed any detrimental driving characteristics.

    Boot Liner (M3)

    I knew there was a reason 😆
  36. C

    Boot Liner (M3)

How come some people buy boot liners and frunk mats? The boot is carpeted and and people want plastic liner, yet the frunk is plastic lined and people want a carpet mat. Never happy 😂

    Exterior improvements to white M3?

    Fixed it for you.
  38. C

    Exterior improvements to white M3?

A bit busy for my liking and clashed with the Chrome dual motor. Needs a 16V 😂

    Exterior improvements to white M3?

I am a strong believer in keeping it vanilla!!!

    Aero repair paint

I found the paint in your link too dark. It's next to impossible to mix the silver pigments into the paint resulting in the touch up being a shade darker. That said it does look better than scraped alloy.

My Tesla Model 3 is still fine!!!

...well come to think. I did have a screw in my tyre last week. Clearly a manufacturing fault! P.S.: It was patched within 10mins by the local Kwikfit.

My Tesla Model 3 is still fine!!!

Just following up from another thread which is discussing all sort of problems. I am happy to report that my MIC 2021 Model3 is absolutely fine and has been since hand-over in June last year. No issues whatsoever, not at handover, not afterwards. Just drives and saves a fortune compared to the...

    Stated Range vs Real World

2021 M3LR - loads of short trips and 40 miles for 30% battery in winter, but also 230 miles on a single long trip.

    The benefit of Brexit

Same here had to stop sending parcels or gifts worth more than £39 as the taxation and duties make no point in sending it in the first instance. I haven’t experienced any advantages to date.

    how low will you go!?

Went from Aberdeen to Dundee the other day and planned a charging stop there. Immediately the battery started to precondition and predicted to arrive with 4%. With two passengers I felt that was cutting it a bit fine, but I let it go on for a while thinking that the system should recognise that...

Welcome to V11 - got sonic but can’t access the essentials. 😳

Can we have the Wh/mile odometer "card" back please?

Now the trip page takes up the whole page, required two actions to open and another one to close. I repeat that I want the old one back.
  48. C

Can we have the Wh/mile odometer "card" back please?

Both back please. The trip card in the sub menu is crap and too distracting to access while driving!!!

    Percentage prediction in satnav

Thanks both, got it now. A bit of a step back, the overview is only there for a few seconds and then having to scroll through all the instructions is a pain.
