    UK FSD Discussion

I’ll have a wager with you. It would be like robbing a baby 😂🤣

    So… Highland is out…

I knew it wouldn’t be long before the usual suspects came out to try and put a positive spin on these dreadful results. I wasted twenty minutes reading many commentators, and even those who are described as “Tesla bulls” describe Q1 as an unmitigated disaster. A lot of commentators think it’s...

    So… Highland is out…

Unless it’s delayed yet again, which is a distinct possibility. Tesla’s timelines are as reliable as a chocolate fireguard. The Roadster was originally due out in 2020, and I feel sorry for the gullible people who made $50k deposits in 2017. I think the Musk should predict that the Roadster...

    UK - FSD, Motorways, Regulation

YES!! I live in the UK and I’m really not interested in what happens in other countries.

    UK - FSD, Motorways, Regulation

For all the hype FSD in the US is still just a Level 2 driver assist feature. In order to get to Level 4 or 5 it has to be reliable all the time, not just most of the time. That’s still a long way off. A scenario in the UK. You’re stuck behind a slow car towing a caravan on an A road that is...

    New Highland UK - stalks

What has the removal of stalks got to do with software development? It’s a cost cutting exercise. Actually don’t answer as you have indicated you won’t won’t be commenting further on this thread. Unless you are still on a mission to convert the ignorant.

    New Highland UK - stalks

Well, @Jules22, there’s no doubt you’ve established yourself as the apologist extraordinaire for indicator buttons. But I’m still unconvinced and cannot see it as a positive move.

    [UK] 2024.8.x

Another update, which means someone will inevitably claim that the useless auto wipers have been fixed. They never are - in fact recent updates have made mine worse.
  10. P

    [UK] 2024.2

Couldn’t agree more, though there are still gullible people who will believe promises of improvements from Musk and his minions.

Well it has to balance the sycophantic hero worship of the “lover of Tesla’s 🤮🤮🤮

    Sainsbury's Launch Own-Brand Charging Network

I don’t know about Windermere but they certainly had Instavolt chargers at Booths in Keswick in 2021. Windy Lake District roads are exactly where I like to drive my M3P, day or night. The only downside is that chevron signs cause my crappy auto headlights to dip just when I need high beam...

The sad thing is there are probably plenty of people who do. I’m definitely not one of them.

Am I the only person to find the frequency of these updates somewhat irritating?

    Matrix headlights - finally???

I’d like to think you’re right but Tesla can’t even get basic auto headlights right. The way reflection from street signs, especially chevrons, causes my high beam to dip on dark country roads is laughable. It dips just when I need high beam most and takes far too long to come back on afterwards.
  17. P

    Matrix headlights - finally???

You don’t say! Yes I know - I’ve owned three Audis with absolutely superb matrix headlights and still have an A6. My point is that if Tesla can’t get something as simple as auto wipers to work using a camera then I’m not convinced they will be able to execute something much more complex like...

    2023 Holiday Update

    I’m on .4 and I have USS. At least I do for now . . .
  19. P

    Matrix headlights - finally???

It would be very easy for Tesla to fix the crap auto headlights. However, in their hubris they refuse to admit that Vision doesn’t and never will work and so refuse to fit a cheap, reliable rain sensor instead. Given that matrix lights will also rely on a camera that gets obscured very easily...

    2023 Holiday Update

Couldn’t agree more. Tesla have a wonderful way of p*ssing their customers off. Given the choice of keeping USS or having fancy graphics I’d opt for USS every time.

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

The second part of my post was in response to a facetious one line post that has since been deleted. As a rule I greatly value other people’s opinions and am looking forward to reading more in this thread. I also doubt this car is for me but doing the research and listening to opinions is...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

This is one of the cars I’m interested in w hen I also tell the Musk to shove it. Id be really interested to know what you think so it would be great if you stay on this forum and let us know what you think. And ignore any petty and unnecessary comments from people who are incapable of...

    Cybertruck launch

I get it completely, and unlike you I don’t wear rose tinted glasses when looking at Musk and Tesla. I think Musk’s presentation skills are toe curlingly awful. Here’s a quote from Electrec: “And overall, the presentation at the event was just underwhelming (you can view a recording of our...

    Cybertruck launch

Nothing will beat the two smashed windows on the Cybertruck. It still makes me laugh. I confidently predict reports of German automakers deaths are premature.

    Tesla Vision

I’ve never owned a beetle and I never will. But I do own a Tesla and I don’t want to be associated with the antisemite who runs the company.
  26. P

    Tesla Vision

Plenty of people moaning about Musk right now. Major advertisers pulling out of X because of his continued antisemitism. He’s despicable. One commentator described him as a “useful fool”. Pretty accurate.
  27. P

    Tesla Vision

Here we go again. Anyone who has the temerity to criticise Tesla or Musk is a moaner and a hater. So what is someone who praises Musk or Tesla? A sycophantic fanboy? Don’t bother replying.

Should Tesla fully refund FSD owners in UK

If I pay in good faith for a service or product and I don’t receive that service or product then I expect to be refunded. Why should Tesla be any different?
  29. P

    So… Highland is out…

Or, to put it another way, Tesla just don’t offer choices. Very few of them anyway.

Is that a remark of an autobiographical nature? Or in order to post on this thread do you need to be a “Lover of Tesla”? 🤮🤮🤮

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Absolutely true. I respect other people’s life style choices. However I’m not vegan or even vegetarian - in fact I would describe myself as a dedicated carcass cruncher and love my delicious meat. Even in 2023 I want the option of real dead cow.
  33. P

    Wipers

I’m also on 32.9 and my wipers were thrashing away on a dry screen in low sun yesterday evening. After almost every software update someone will claim the wipers have been fixed. They never are and I doubt they ever will be because vision just doesn’t work.
  34. P

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

It’s a bit pointless comparing an M3 to an iX. They are completely different classes of car. We know that Tesla are strong on performance and efficiency, but they cannot even begin to compete in terms of comfort and refinement. “Premium” for Tesla equates to “bog standard” for the quality German...

[UK] Hands free (Level 2) driving has arrived

A bit like “autosteer on city streets”, promised by the end of 2019 and still nowhere is sight four years later?
  37. P

    Wipers

I’m on 32.6 (another irritating minor update very soon after the last irritating minor update) and today I drove over 200 miles from Glasgow to Lancashire. For me the wipers are just as flawed and I can see no improvement. They did work pretty well when it was actually raining, but they are...

UK - EAP - Summon not in showing the app

Apparently it’s “upcoming”. But autosteer on city streets has been upcoming since 2019 so don’t hold your breath.
  39. P

    So… Highland is out…

You have hit the nail on the head - it’s a car. When people started to take delivery of their M3s in serious numbers four years ago and started to complain about poor build quality with dreadful paint, lights full of water and various other problems, the fanboys/girls tried to justify this...

    V4 Supercharger -UK

Or Tesla could conform to a different standard, in the same way they have been forced to adopt CCS in Europe. The entire EV world doesn’t have to conform to Tesla.

    HyperVolt Charge Points [megathread]

Very interesting. Since install over 12 months ago my Hypervolt has refused to maintain Wi-Fi connectivity. I reboot it, and sometimes it only keeps the connection for a few minutes before dropping out again. I’ll open it up tomorrow and have a look inside.

    [UK specific] Software Update 2023.26

I haven’t looked at the Tesla website for months, but I had a little look today and under EAP Summon and Smart Summon are described as “upcoming”. A clear admission that it isn’t currently working, though we all knew that anyway. Don’t hold your breath. Autosteer on city streets is also...

    Fremantle Highway

Yes, VW issues are well documented but that’s not quite on the same level as crashing a plane into a warehouse because of a poorly designed laptop. Evidence?

    Fremantle Highway

I’d also like some evidence. Conspiracy theories are easy to create.

    [UK specific] Software Update 2023.26

OH OH OH I’ve just downloaded 26.7. I’m so excited. In fact I haven’t been this excited since the last minor update. I won’t sleep tonight thinking about all the wonderful new features I’ll be able to enjoy when I go for a drive tomorrow.
  47. P

    [UK] Anyone rejected?

Personally I think it’s outrageous that anyone should have the temerity to criticise their Tesla under any circumstances. Auto headlights don’t work properly? Wipers are crap? You’ve nearly been rear ended on the motorway because of violent phantom braking? Software update broke something that...

I'm starting to think OTA updates aren't such a good thing

I wouldn’t say OTA updates are a bad thing as such, but I do find the number of them at the moment rather irritating. And it’s certainly true that lots of updates break something that previously worked perfectly. Some people, though, still look forward to with huge anticipation to every...

    June 23 UK Car Sales

Targeting wealthy people in their expensive SUVs would only lead to a tiny increase in EV sales. Wealthy people can afford to absorb penalties. Given that petrol/diesel prices have come down massively while electricity prices have gone through the roof, and given that EVs are still...
