I guess it depends on what price you put on quality. Porsche stomps all over Tesla when it comes to fit/finish/ride/quality. The fact that a few years ago the Plaid was as much as a nicely optioned Taycan is absolute bananas.

Even a slightly used one, was looking at a nice 4S CT in Mambo Green, nicely optioned and it's 149K CAD... I guess if you compare it to a new MSP which is about 130-139K CAD depending on options, yeah it's not bad.. Still about 40-50K more than a fully-loaded i4 with a BMW Individual color choice.

If you go more than once a week or share with a friend/spouse/partner then for sure. But 209+tax ($236) comes out to about $18-19 a week which is the regular price of a Superwash. The regular price for the 5 Wash & Go card (74$ with tax) comes out to about $17-18$ a week.

You have a P85D that has the chrome right (based on your signature)? I don't think those are susceptible to the discolouration. Only the Model Y, 2021+ Model 3 and probably 2021+ Model S/X

There are 3 "levels" of Touchless washes at most PetroCans.. Basic, Full, Super Wash. The Basic is just soap+water.. The Super Wash has more chemicals for paint protection, coating, etc. The Full is kind of in the middle. The basic wash does not use that foamy stuff which I think is some kind of...

The PPF installer said only paint covered areas and lights were protected, so I'm guessing the trim was not.

So I went through yesterday and got the "Basic Wash" not the "Super Wash". Trim was fine. Not sure I dare go through the Super Wash which uses the tri coat foam. I do have full car PPF and ceramic coat over top of the PPF. BASIC Wash seems fine to get the salt off.

Tesla dealer chalked it up to ice buildup on the fan due to condensation. To me in makes sense. The car was sitting outside on delivery day for a while and it was snowy/icy. I've been parking inside the garage since and haven't heard it again.
