Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

You can also drive over those big speed humps and do the same thing. Observations: Comfort. Softish. But firms up if you go faster (feels like the shock is adapting to with additional resistance to the higher shaft speeds) Sport. Firmish. No real difference when going over them faster...

Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

More force = higher percentage. If it didn't increase the force (%) resisting the input, you'd feel like you're driving a 1977 Buick Estate wagon with worn out shocks. What is the issue with your car? What is the biggest symptom that something is wrong for you?

Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

Just as with non-adjustable shocks, the amount of fluid Passing through the valve is going to be “stiffer” as speed of the shock’s piston increases. It’s the difference between doing a belly flop at 1 foot above the pool, versus from the high diving board. The greater speed is going to require...

    Missing Energy Screen

I miss the energy screen! I would love a live energy graph on the right side of the driver's screen. The new 2021+ screen layout seems like such a step backward.

Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

I will also add that I notice very little difference between Comfort and Sport at freeway speeds (UNLESS I hit I larger pavement height variance, at which the sport is somewhat jarring). The delta between damping % of each setting is less at highway speeds, per the display. In the city, the...

Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

Dec 2021 build... My butt-o-meter tells me that comfort is softer (less rebound and compression damping) than sport, which is definitely softer than Track. The lower the the "%" on the display, the less damping in either direction (Reb or Comp) that I'm feeling. Just something I've...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

2022 Model S Plaid on 19's. I'm at 317 wh/mi right now over the life of the car (8k miles) 40% longer trips at higher speeds in hot weather (with full A/C use). 60% around town with heavy A/C use most of the time. Typical road trips are in the 280 wh/mi ranges so I'm not sure why my overall...

    What does this mean? (Pic)

Thank you. I was traveling in 100 degree plus temps for about 3 hours (on a trip). I'm surprised it needed to be heated! I wish I could change the subject to be more informative. DIdn't know what to call it when I asked....

0-60 MPH for new Long Range Model S WITH and WITHOUT "Drag Strip Mode"

IMHO, the launch is softened for sure. It's likely that way to prevent excess drivetrain wear from the many launches that some owners do. I feel like the vehicle has adequate power as produced.

    2020 Tesla Crashes in Ohio

Try this when safe.... step on the accelerator in your Tesla, even mat it to the floor. Then gently rest your left foot on the brake pedal. -->What happens? <-- There will be an investigation, however the results will not be publicized. It doesn't fit the Tesla-Short/Sensastional narrative.

    Show of hands… Adaptive Suspension

Comfort is generally good, but needs another 15% more rebound and 5% more compression dampening in the rear (to eliminate the pogo effect on larger undulations) Sport is...sporty. Try TRACK MODE for some stiff suspension. Eek!

    2020 Tesla Crashes in Ohio

It’s just pixelation of the camera/frame-rate. I am imagining if it was registered to a taxi company, that this vehicle was registered to Hertz. They recently put out a metric ton of white model 3 cars. Many many rideshare drivers are renting them at a weekly rate. (a but over $400 per week...

    2020 Tesla Crashes in Ohio

White Model 3 Refresh with 18" aeros. Traveled down the offramp and then down Vine St. over 5 lights/blocks and into the building. Must have been like that Prius and had brake failure. Looks like driver error. I'm sure they can estimate the speed from the frame rate of the camera. It...

Tesla Model S OEM Mud Flaps Suck!!

I received some new mud flaps for a 2021+ model S. The part # is 1703882-00-A (left). Is this the same as the "too long" ones?

    Air Conditioning on the PLAID

Also, you could set your car to cool (Keep mode) for about 30 minutes before you get in it. Just set the temp to about 70 and let it do it's thing. When you get in the car, it should be comfortable. It may burn a KWH of battery, but at least you'll know if your AC is working properly.

2022 LR Homelink Button blocking reverse cameras

I have the same problem. I wish they would make that much smaller. It doesn't need to be so giant. I'm always a bit hesitant to swipe it down because it will open the door (if I'm parked in front of the house...and the alarm is on). Door opens...alarm goes off. No delay! Eek!

    Air Conditioning on the PLAID

I think the biggest problem is heat soaking from the sun. Is your car tinted? I did mine the other day and WOW what a difference. I can leave the AC at 72 and it's cool. Before I was running 70 or 68 and at much higher fan speeds (on AUTO). There's a ton of heat being dumped into the...

Refreshed Model S energy screen - thought it was removed but found a way to access it easier than before

Were you driving when you tried it? I've only tried it parked so far. Tomorrow I'll try the instant average.

    Air Conditioning on the PLAID

The only way to know is to check the intake and outlet air temp. If the delta (change) is within spec (probably more than 20 degrees), it's working fine. I bought a sunshade for the roof. The glass roof is adding a lot of heat load that I feel.

2700 Mile Road Trip - 2020 Tesla Model S LR

What was your average speed to get 320-330 miles of range? How much battery % were you using to get that far (assuming you weren’t goong from 100 down to 0%) I’m curious because I have a plaid with the 19 inch wheels and the range is very similar to the long range.

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

Confirmed part #, yes. Had my service appointment today to pick it up. Still not in. 159 units back ordered They set a mobile service appointment for two weeks from now. It’s getting ridiculous. The black cargo area is much less convenient without the load floor cover.

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

Does anyone have the part number for this load floor cover? I’m still waiting for just that part but they brought out several others that didn’t fit. I’m concerned they are just throwing what they have at my cargo area. 158744-00-C <— is this it?

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

I stopped by the local service center today. They gave me the floor mats, parcel shelf (slick design), license plate frame and small lower cubby cover. I’ll have to wait a bit for the big lower trunk shelf. I’m glad I didn’t wait until my service appointment next month!

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

I’m going to head over there later this morning and see if someone can help me. It’s really annoying not to have the covers. I went to Costco and I had to load everything in one big pile in the back. Then I had to drive carefully home…chill mode required

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

I noticed the one flat cover missing in the back. I didn’t know there was another cover for the small cubby on the side or that there was a deck cover above. He did say they would be delivered, but it’s been three weeks and I haven’t seen anything yet. I’m most upset that I wasn’t given floor...

    New (2022) model S - missing covers?

I received my model S plaid just before the end of the year. Overall the build quality looks good. Mine was missing the rear covers for the small cubby and the large lower section in the trunk area. I put in a service order and the delivery person assured me that I would receive them in the...
