Nvidia announces new AI superchip with 208B transistors!!

Historically people use FP64 for TFLOPS, so take the numbers with a mine of salt. They’re big, but they’re TF32, not even FP32. Then there is the matter of keeping it busy all the time, which is programmatically difficult. You also have to use CUDA to get that level of performance in any...

Nvidia announces new AI superchip with 208B transistors!!

It was sarcasm, blended with truth as building these things is my day job. Power is getting out of control now.

Nvidia announces new AI superchip with 208B transistors!!

Don’t forget the nuclear power station you need to power any reasonably sized system built on them.

Turn off WiFi in Powerwall Gateway?

I’d like to be able to use it in the event of a power cut to monitor the gateway. But otherwise that’s a solution if they’re obvious. Far better would be a Tesla s/ware update mind 👍

Turn off WiFi in Powerwall Gateway?

I get that. As tkip is now so weak and in many areas there are loads of networks in range, it’s only a matter of time and IMHO a problem for the GW2 and Tesla. The GW2 is new enough to use chips that support wpa2 aes, the very least to be done would be a firmware update to enable the modern...

Turn off WiFi in Powerwall Gateway?

It’s on a wired network, with 802.11x and in a DMZ…. But I worry that whilst TEG might be gateway only, there might be a way to bounce via the weak WiFi network and find your way onto the home network. TBH Best thing would be a Tesla s/ware update that improved from TKIP 👍

Turn off WiFi in Powerwall Gateway?

Not have a WiFi network broadcasting with weak security (TKIP can be broken in approx 1 minute) that could allow someone onto the wired network. Upping it to WPA 2 or 3 PSK using AES would be acceptable (and frankly what I’d be expecting from the factory). Off would be acceptable, but...

Turn off WiFi in Powerwall Gateway?

Bit of a thread revival, but this seems an appropriate thread. Did anyone find out if this could be soft disabled or at least changed so it’s not presenting a network based on tkip as opposed to something better such as WPA2-PSK AES? Thanks

    Supporting a second PW2

This document includes details of the concrete pad to cast when you’re raising a PW2 or three as well as dimensions which is supported by a suitable existing wall...

    Supporting a second PW2

I was thinking not to use wood due to it being outside and in ground contact.

    Supporting a second PW2

We currently have a single PW2 and gateway 2 installed, which is mounted on a wooden/unistrut structure. Obviously we can’t stack on this configuration, as you must floor mount stacks. However we also need to keep the PW2 a couple of inches off the ground to make sure heavy rain wouldn’t cause...

    Powerwall and Octopus intelligent issues

Thread revival, but has anyone wired a three way changeover switch rated to the appropriate amperage? 0 = off 1 = P/wall 2 = grid direct Obviously you’ll need a spark to wire it and a mini consumer unit. 0 = working on charger/isolated 1 = Summer 2 = Winter Never switch it while in use, but...

Powerwall rebate now in the uk

So it is registered to me, just not something you can remove. Strange. As for does £350 make a difference, well it’s about 4-6 months of pre battery electricity consumption, so yes as it would make a dent in the payback.

Powerwall rebate now in the uk

PW3 is same capacity, integrated inverter (only) and higher max discharge rate (not sure if that is battery only too or just solar plus battery. Question for anyone that has one, our was installed and works in the app, but it isn’t under the de-register option tab. Should it show up there as...
