    Model 3 range

I mean, in all fairness, the "hit" on your range in an ICE car for going that fast isn't really that noticeable to most people.

What am i doing wrong? [help request with scheduled charging]

Currently with the app, it seems you can only do one or the other (even though it lets you select both). If you're not charging to 100% during that session, you can set your charge limit and just tell it to only charge after a certain set of hours. It should fill up during that time. There...

Bad 48 amp charge feature not included in battery warranty

Were their LR models that were RWD at one point? I thought all LR models were AWD.

Models 3 & Y Gen 4 ECU (necessary for CCS Capability)

Any updates on when we can buy the adapters? They totally stopped selling them the week that I finally got my ECU board upgraded :/

Why is home charging only 32 amps on SR when supercharging is so much faster?

Some of the responses in here are just downright rude. This person obviously just doesn't understand that "home charging" is level 2 (and always will be) and that "Fast Charging" is "Level 3." This post is a prime example of the learning curve that many people who aren't geeks like us are going...

Tesla Delivery Center requesting two checks for delivery pickup instead of one.

Yes and no. The loan was written for the entire amount, but I had 32k from teh sale of my previous vehicle. Once the loan was in place, we refinanced it with the money I'd intended to "put down"." This was done before the loan even showed up on my credit. So the only loan showing up now is...

Tesla Delivery Center requesting two checks for delivery pickup instead of one.

I think it just depends on how you do this. I applied for my car loan through DCU during the week that I was to take delivery. They gave me ONE check for the entire dollar amount for the car and that is what I gave to Tesla after I inspected the car and got them to agree on a few items before...

How Some Tesla Owners Break The Law to "Stop ICE-ing"

I"m not buying a 550 dollar accessory b/c some asshole parks in an EV spot and blocks a charger. I'd just put pressure on the site owner to start enforcing tows.

So I tried camping in the car for one night......

With this report--I think that I'll bring some wired earbuds that are "flush" with my ears (so that I can easily sleep with them on). This should drown out all noise.

What is considered a "long trip" when considering charging to 100%?

I want to know what people and even Tesla categorizes as a "long trip." I'm asking this because of all the back and forth about what you're supposed to charge your battery to..etc etc. I do not have one of the new LFP packs, so I've been following the guidelines of only charging to around 80%...

2021 Y CCS Upgrade DIY: My experiance

I did all of what he said, but I replaced my broken 80 with an 80 that was yanked from a wrecked 21 model 3. It did NOT fix the issue. I re-flashed the car but it still refused to charge (but no longer gave me error messages about the FW mismatch). The chances of me getting another bad 80 seem...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

So a very nice user from here (blaftery, shout out to him!) mailed me a brand new Gen 4 ECU board but, my service appointment for my fried '80 was today and they replaced it with the correct 00 one and it fixed my "can't charge it at home" issue. The one I bought from the user here is unopened...

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

well good news. They replaced the ECU board with the new Gen4 one and it seems to have fixed the issue. I have no idea why the refurbed 80 that I got from the salvage place didnt work but there you have it. Also, surprise surprise, they installed some update and now I finally have FSD (my...

Elon Flames Remote Work | TMC Podcast Clip

I'm referring to him as a person. He has admitted to being on the spectrum. That's a form of disabilty and it's socially-related. This means he has limitations---recognizing those and not putting himself in a role where he can literally make or break a company with one...

Elon Flames Remote Work | TMC Podcast Clip

I swear, he needs to just shut up. Get a PR department, stop tweeting like Drump used to all the time and just focus on running a good company. No one cares about yoru political beliefs, or your views on society. I love the cars and the concept but Elon needs to take a backseat..literally.

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

they moved my SC appt to a brand new facility that is MUCH closer to me (30 minutes vs an hour). They were much more wiling to listen/discuss this. They confirmed they ordered the correct ECU AND the onboard charger just in case the problem is in one or the other.

Models 3 & Y Gen 4 ECU (necessary for CCS Capability)

This one is pretty close. Please note that plenty of people haven't found it necessary to unplug the 12v and the "penthouse" before doing this work, but it does kill all power to everything so it's probably the safest way to do it.

    1537264-00-B vs 80-B

hey Falcon, sorry I dindt respond sooner, I just decided to leave this all alone for the weekend since I have other issues going on (i had a pipe leak in my home and have been dealing with contractors, etc). Not sure what I did to piss the gods off, but have had a lot going on at once :) I'm...

    1537264-00-B vs 80-B

Yeah, I have a UMC that has both the 110 and a 250 plug ..and I have a JuiceBox 40 (plug-in) that also didn't work. So I've tested both outlets (15a and 50a) and both types of connections.

    1537264-00-B vs 80-B

No dice :( I drove to the new service center near me, was able to find their WiFi, i connected to it and accessed service mode. Drove home, swapped out the board for the "salvaged" one (same model number...same year). System gave me the error messages I was expecting once everything was...

okay..ebay part arrived. Torn between waiting for another software update or just driving up to the service center's parking lot this weekend and doing the install there so i can force a reflash. The part was a used 80-B from a totaled 2021 tesla that only had body damage. Like i said, I...

    1537264-00-B vs 80-B

Yes I know that, sorry if that wasnt' clear. what i"m saying is that you cna't even order 80-B; so they should not be thinking they're going to replace my bad 80-B with another 80-B. I am not doing this just to get an upgrade either, I'm doing it because my ECU board is actually NOT letting me...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I will do that as well, they finally opened a new one that is slightly closer to me (30 minutes away instead of an hour). I am not going to drive home in service mode, however. I will just try to do the installation in their parking lot so that I can actually access service mode.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Thank you for posting the service manual instructions--but the whole "software reinstall" being hidden behind a log in (that I can't access) is the tough part. IF there is no software update out yet for the car before I need to leave for my roadtrip (I'm trying to replace my own ECU with...

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

I went into EPC (the tesla parts ordering website)---80 isn't available anymore. They only list 00, so I'm convinced that the Service Center in my area is causing its own delay by ordering the wrong part.

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

As I said in another thread, I am sick of waiting..I'll let them keep the appointment stringing along if they need to so that they can fix this for me, but in the meantime, I've ordered a used -80-B from ebay so that I can at least restore the ability to charge at home. I have a road trip...

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

that's the right one. Still no answer from my text I sent the SC this morning about this. I even called and spoke to them and asked their manager to give me a call back...guess who still hasn't called or updated the texting in the app? I ordered a used 80-B from eBay this morning. I'll swap...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

This thread has gotten so big, it might be best to do a "sticky" at the top of each page that answers questions. I also have a 9/21 (But I have a Model 3 LR) -- you should only need a bundle of wires if your existing ECU is NOT 1537264-80-B. If you have 1537264-80-B; you are supposed to just be...

My On-Board Charger Broke, and I'm Glad [charge port ECU]

I think I gathered from this thread that this is now the default repair behavior but I'm now embroiled in a battle with my Service Center becuase they keep trying to order 80-B to replace mine that also somehow went bad. I keep explaining to them that they won't be able to get an 80-B and they...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I'm actually doing mine b/c my existing port is bad. This isn't just an ugrade. At this point, I can't keep waiting so I've ordered an 80-b (the stripped one) from ebay to install myself so that I can still charge from home in the meantime. This is annoying AF.

dumb question--but if I have a 2021 Model 3 LR (made in 9/2021); and it just says "CCS not installed" --i can literally swap the part with unstripped version, do a "software update" and it should work right? no error messages, no weird other stuff..etc etc?
