    New Model 3 Performance news

I havent even seen any real/proper reviews of the Aussie spec yet, not much buzz?

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Never had matrix in any other cars but I think they’ve been amazing. Great on the highway, even in the suburbs I’ve never been flashed once so assuming they are quick enough
  3. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Opposite for me, I think the 360 stitched looks like crap in most cars Will test it out some more but so far the vision park seems quite good. Cars had changed since I parked and it updated as soon as it came on

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

2024.14.7 downloading now, says we get vision park

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

how am I anti-ev/tesla lol, take the blinkers off for a sec and just be balanced. All im saying is the depreciation is high, so if you’re buying a new one you should at least have it in mind

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Mate I’ve owned plenty of cars, I literally I have no idea what old excels have to do anything. I’m well aware how the car market works Well life changes, sometimes you need to sell or sometimes you just want to sell. Of course resale is a factor? Anyone buying a new Tesla should definitely...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Over 50% in 2 years is definitely worse than I expected. Not sure what excels and corollas have to do with anything
  8. F

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I don’t care what you’ve insured it for, I meant that it’s completely irrelevant for what it’s actually worth. I’d be lucky to get 50k for my 2022 m3lr with 25,000kms, trade in value is 40k. Pretty crap considering it was 80k new
  9. F

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Sure but I guess I never considered insurance fraud as part of the value proposition good to know it’s held up well, but honestly I just get bored and like a change. The new performance was interesting but not something I’m considering anymore
  10. F

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

It’s terrible, there is no way I’ll upgrade to another one now. I reckon I’ve taken a 55% hit in less than 2 years, and I didn’t even buy in peak

    New Model 3 Performance news

The stock m3lr feels so artificially limited, like they’ve put a delay in. Noticed a bit difference with AB off the line. Rolling not as much
  12. F

    New Model 3 Performance news

Great info, thanks. Personally, I think I made the right choice getting the LR when I did, the gap is just too small between the P and AB A shame we don’t get the US spec battery on the new one
  13. F

    New Model 3 Performance news

You should get it and test it out, and just refund it after. I have m3lr with AB and would be interested to see if it really is noticeable going to the new P I know the old P pulled harder off the line than mine but once they got going they were pretty much identical Still, after seeing the...

Thanks for that, figured as much!

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

So have they made it anymore useful here? I had the trial last year but couldn’t see 5k value Lane change is the big one Navigate on autopilot , seems useless in AU we don’t really have a million interconnecting highways Auto park I didn’t trust enough, maybe it’s better? Summon and smart...

    FSD Price refund

I mean that’s exactly how I would describe a jag too
  17. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Don’t want to jinx it, but auto headlights, adaptive headlights and auto wipers worked really well last night in the rain. Didn’t have to touch a thing
  18. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Doubt it means anything I think they have just back ported some of the visualisations to non fsd users
  19. F

This is how important the 60 foot time is for the 1/4 mile

What about the non US spec cars, I wonder if they will carry any of the improvements. Not sure if peak power or continuous power will be the most impacted
  20. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

got the update, looks great. Finally have matrix headlights! feel like the auto wipers are a bit better but will see

Pulled the trigger on a Model 3 Performance 2024

That’s not terrible, for mine I paid 80k, Tesla and carsales trade in is 42k. 2 years and 25,000kms. Could probably get in the 50’s private I guess
  22. F

Pulled the trigger on a Model 3 Performance 2024

What hit are you taking on that? Wouldn’t mind the upgrade from my 22 LR but the value is depressing
  23. F

Full FSD Free Trial: Why I'd never buy it . . . ever.

FSD rant aside Is that something to be proud of? Maybe don’t drive like a twat on a public road ?
  24. F

    New Model 3 Performance news

Looks great. I was half tempted until I got the trade in value on my 2022 LR, they offered 41K. I paid 80K just under 2 years ago :(
  25. F

    AP/FSD related crashes

Of course it is, you’re always meant to be in control. Besides AP isn’t smart enough to make it off a highway anyway

Does merlin prolift 230t work with Homelink? Or would I need to buy a receiver like this - https://tessories.com.au/product/homelink-receiver-kit/

If you want an easier option, I went for a generic garage adaptor that uses HomeKit instead. It was around $60 and I just use Siri or phone/watch to open

    Superchargers in Australia

Made three stops over last two days and it’s been great, no wait times. Maybe lucky with timing, seen a few showing up as busy on the app For a first time roadtrip with an EV it’s been a very good experience
  28. F

    Superchargers in Australia

First time used superchargers heading to QLD from Syd, stopped twice no queues been easy so far
  29. F

    Superchargers in Australia

Got a young kid so most likely will stay at Coffs on the way up, and see how we go on the way back First big trip in an EV so should be fun Does the in car nav show how many free stalls there are?
  30. F

    Superchargers in Australia

Thank you! Will see what traffic is like and see what the queues are. Just don’t want to end up in an hour long queue with the family
  31. F

    Superchargers in Australia

Driving to the gold coast from Sydney in the next couple of weeks. It’ll be during school holidays Any tips on which chargers I should avoid? Currently ABRP is saying I need a stop at port Macquarie and Maclean if I leave Sydney with 100% Should I top up anywhere else in case those are...

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

Same here , it’s not even a brake normally just feels like it lifts off the throttle
  33. F

    FSD Beta v11.x

    Lol quality trolling at least
  34. F

    Autopilot seems useless

Yeah I mean it’s got American, what else is needed? Those other countries should just speak American anyway So much ranting in here it’s kind of hilarious
  35. F

Model 3, doors within spec or by design?

Mine aren’t like that , I think they should adjust them
  36. F

Autopilot only works if I leave the headlights on!!!

I haven’t had to touch headlights in any car in maybe 15 years, what a weird thing to get caught up on

Melbourne to Sydney via Destination Charger in a MY RWD

Nice write up! Will be doing Syd-Melb later this year in my m3lr as a first proper long drive I probably should’ve gone for a Y for the extra space but the P is too expensive and I can’t let go of the silly power I have currently
  40. F

    Phantom braking return?

No it can’t be done, I doubt any new car will let you Regular cruise is useless these days anyway, roads are too busy and our road manners are rubbish, everyone sits in random lanes at random speeds
  41. F

    Phantom braking return?

That’s my experience too, couple of “lift off” type slow downs but nothing more dramatic My previous ford which had radar would sometimes do the same thing, usually when there was an overpass on a hill or a sharp turn with a barrier I disable autopilot when I can see it getting confused...

I’ve liked having EAP and will miss it, 5k is just too much

$3500 price difference for Model 3 Long Range AWD vs Performance. Which one should I go with?

I generally don’t have imaginary conversations explaining myself before buying things..
  44. F

$3500 price difference for Model 3 Long Range AWD vs Performance. Which one should I go with?

Yeah brilliant, except for the whole money thing. There’s always something better
  45. F

$3500 price difference for Model 3 Long Range AWD vs Performance. Which one should I go with?

Goes both ways, maybe P owners have to justify the extra they spent … For $3500 I would, unfortunately in other markets it doesn’t make much sense. They need to differentiate more, like going from an M sport to a full M in bmw world
  46. F

$3500 price difference for Model 3 Long Range AWD vs Performance. Which one should I go with?

I have an LR with boost, because in Australia it was an aud$18,000 difference! In saying that, it’s already ridiculously quick for the road and there’s no chance I’m ever taking it to the track
  47. F

    App becoming required

This must be a joke surely
  48. F

Tesla replacing ultrasonic sensors with Tesla Vision

Lol what did you expect the outcome would be? As if you’re going to pay an attorney hundreds or thousands of dollars over parking sensors
  49. F

Lifting it on all 4 jack stands

    Sounds absolutely ridiculous
