HELP! Model S Won’t Charge at Supercharger

Pin#4 on J1 and J3 (Red and White 4pin contactor connectors) on the charger side are connected to ground on all three chargers (the installed one and two spares). I'm assuming pin#4 is connected to ground on all Gen1 chargers. There is no connection to ground on the contactor connectors when...

HELP! Model S Won’t Charge at Supercharger

It's possible! I have another ebay'd HVJB still in bubble wrap I can try. I also have some Gen2 HVJB+Charger pairs coming I can try. And/or I can swap HVJB+charger with another S and see where the problem goes. I've just been spinning my wheels for so long I don't know what the best...

HELP! Model S Won’t Charge at Supercharger

I am looking for advice or ideas as to why I am unable to supercharge. There are no errors prior to plugging in the supercharger handle into the charge port. L2 AC charging at home works flawlessly. Pressing the button on the supercharger handle causes the charge port door to open as it...

HELP! Model S Won’t Charge at Supercharger

Nope... replaced the HVJB. That didn't help either. Next I'll try re-seating the HV battery pack LV connectors.

HELP! Model S Won’t Charge at Supercharger

My 2012 S P85 has dual 10kw 6009278-00-F Gen1 chargers. The car is unable to supercharge receiving the "No Power" error when attempting to Level3 Supercharge. The car AC charges just fine at 48a (max output of my wall charger) from a Gen2 wall connector. Having read through this thread... My...

I'm interested in knowing if anyone knows a way to get updated SSL keys without being eligible for eMMC recall or upgrading to MCU2. I would imagine having the Tegra board replaced would have SSL keys recreated in the process. Or maybe there's a procedure for tesla service to just reprovision...

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

Killing the IC's eMMC is not a big deal... just replace the IC. They're only like $200 on eBay. Do a software-redeploy after it's physically swapped and if the rest of the car is in working order, you should be good to go.

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

You could replace your Tegra board with eBay 256166977500 2020.36.16 board. You would however need to have your SSL keys extracted off the current eMMC in order to maintain communication with Tesla aka App access.

Can you ping the IC from the CID? Can you issue a redeploy? nc cid 25956 service-redeploy
  14. C

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

It's not quite that simple... the Spansion flash chip needs to match the eMMC firmware. You can't just replace the eMMC with different firmware and expect it to work. You need to write the same firmware version the Spansion last installed and booted to onto the replacement eMMC unless you...

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

FYI: you don't need ssl keys for the car to run. you just won't have phone app access or anything that requires communication with Tesla. I could provision you a reasonably plug-and-play CID with nothing more than your vehicle config (gateway.cfg aka internal.dat) and even if you didn't have...

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

None that I'm aware of. I've been working on a 3rd-party web-based app replacement for CIDs running older firmware (2020.36 and earlier) for vehicles that for whatever reason no longer have valid keys. What firmware are you running? or is the vehicle even running at this point? Alternative...
  17. C

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

you won't find them in the IC dump... at least not on firmware recent enough where the keys would still be valid. The certs expire after 2years if not renewed and firmware old enough to keep keys on the IC would be too old to be renewing. They don't exist on the IC at all. You can mail me the...

How are you reading the ram? They are on the CID not the IC. They are in /var/etc/openvpn/car.crt and /var/etc/openvpn/car.key on the CID where /var is p3 so... <p3 mountpoint>/etc/openvpn/car.crt <p3 mountpoint>/etc/openvpn/car.key openvpn isn't used anymore but that's still the path. that...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

A Tesla cannot go 2years without communicating with Tesla or the certs it uses to communicate with Tesla will expire. Unless Tesla has something in place that allows renewal even after the vehicle's certs have expired, it will never talk to Tesla again without Tesla replacing the certs (likely...

    Supercharger - Taylor, MI

I stopped in yesterday and it looks complete other than it’s still fenced in. There’s arrows painted in the spots showing the direction you need to face in order to charge. It’s possible you’d need to back in or out when other vehicles are charging otherwise you’d likely just drive through...

    Battery imbalance cell reading changes

LOL @ Bathroom Silicone.... that'd be a fun surprise when investigating a pack. You seem pretty confident with your "100% chance". What separates a module swap with "100%" chance of failure from a Tesla/057/ReCell remanufactured pack if proper sealant is used? I very much appreciate hearing...

    Battery imbalance cell reading changes

Can you reference the "some ppl" claims? It's not that I don't believe you... I'm curious myself. There's so much misinformation out there, it's hard to determine what's real vs bad assumptions, etc. Matched BMB revision (physically looked the same). Both original and donor BMB were the...

    Battery imbalance cell reading changes

Not only was the BMB bad but there was also a sense wire that had come off. It seems oddly coincidental the C27 corrosion issue to be on the same module as the loose/detached sense wire. Have others seen corrosion and loose/detached sense wires? Does one cause the other? FYI: The entire...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I'd suggest using the link light as your "Step 1" before worrying about the display lighting up. Could be: Bad Tegra board (more specifically the eMMC on the Tegra board) Insufficient/bad/dirty 12v power (quality power supply?) Incorrect/bad Fakra/HSD cable (has it ever worked?) Main board...

    Battery imbalance cell reading changes

I'm having very similar f107 issues on a 2012 P85. I verified corrosion on C27 (BMB failure) and replaced the BMB. The delta between cell#3 and cell#4 dropped from ~80mv to ~60mv after the BMB swap however the periodic drop from ~3v to ~1v persisted on the same module even after the full BMB...

“Voltage supply too low” and BMS errors

Who wants to take some guesses at what my issue is? Current goal is to charge the pack, it's pretty low right now. Just purchased a 2012 S P85 in non-running condition. I know charge port door is physically corroded and the bottom pin is broken. I scraped some of the corrosion off for it to...

CID Replacement on firmware 2020.48 and up

The process you used to get to 2022.8.5 won’t work to get that far back. You’d need reflash your emmc and spansion flash (involves soldering) https://www.ebay.com/itm/256166977500
  39. C

CID Replacement on firmware 2020.48 and up

You’d want to downgrade all the way to 2020.36 or earlier in order to gain root login access, be able to adjust any and all configuration settings in the gateway, prevent updates, etc.

CID Replacement on firmware 2020.48 and up

  41. C

CID Replacement on firmware 2020.48 and up

It’s in /usr/local/bin/gwxfer on the CID and can only be run from the CID so it won’t do you much good if you don’t have the ability to login to the CID.

Mobile Emergency Charger using a spare Tesla 24v module - SUCCESS

My p85 was stuck on the side of the freeway because it said I had 6% left but told me to pull over it’s shutting down … it was there for 4 days because AAA trucks for whatever reason “wouldn’t tow a Tesla”. I just needed to get less than 2 miles to a place I could charge. That’s what...

Successful data recovery of broken eMMC chip MCU1

I typically just remove the Emmc and reflash it in a programmer … I’ve never tried accessing the IC Emmc through the boards pins. You’d likely run into issues with mismatched spansion flash chip info even if you did manage to directly access the Emmc.
