Why does the new 3P get the Spaceballs badge and the LR S does not

Looking at each vehicles specs, capabilities etc it seems the S LR is the better performer. Why doesn’t the LR S qualify for the same badging as the new 3P? Looking forward to some side by side track tests.

Thoughts on Superchargers After a 2300 mile trip

We just completed a 2K mile trip from southern IL to southern MD via I-64 (May 9th - 14th) and given all the drama surrounding the SuperChargers we always had a wee bit of angst in our minds as we approached a charging stop. But it turns out it was for naught. Except on one leg, we departed...

    Status of HAUBSTADT IN SuperCharger

UPDATE: On May 13th we stopped there on our return trip from Maryland, the only facilities NOT OPEN are the handicapped stalls in the restrooms, the fountain drink dispenser, and the Drive-Thru window. SuperChargers working, I arrived with 12% and saw 254 kWh before tapering, three Teslas...

Thieves steal high-voltage Tesla Supercharger cables from Montrose(Houston) charging station

Has the site been repaired yet given all the drama surrounding the status of the "SuperCharger Team"? The last update on PlugShare was back on May 5th when someone reported 18 of the 19 stalls had been vandalized. https://www.plugshare.com/location/562380

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

So confused, the new Model 3 Performance has a badge that looks like the PLAID badge yet it's referred to as "LUDICROUS". But it's not called the "LUDICROUS", and in the Drive Mode selector the max performance mode is called "INSANE". So what is the new Model 3 named: Performance, Ludicrous...

Estimate range on full charge dropped to 300 miles

We just completed another 2K mile trip to visit the grandkids, here is that data: Current Drive: Mt Vernon IL to Home (had to stop for BIO break and did not charge) Since Charge: Haubsdadt IN to Home Trip A: Southern IL to southern MD and return FYI, I have a 2022 MYP with 18" tires/wheels...

parallel universe: assume $ is not an issue (gas, payments, etc.), would you still insist driving MX/MXP SUV over say BMW X7 SUV 100% fully optioned ?

Can’t you buy a “Tax Credit Edition” X LR for about $72K today? That seems like a bargain these days.

18” photon (highland) wheels on M3P??

Going to send TSportLine a note asking the same question. I have their 18's on my 2022 MYP and it created an entirely new vehicle. The two BIGGEST improvements are FASTER and MORE EFFICIENT than running the OEM 21s. I bet that will apply to the new M3P. As soon as I hear back from...

Lewisburg WV “Temporarily Unavailable” May 13th

I do and it had NO new current data. The last checkin was a couple of days earlier, on the 11th. I submitted my post announcing the closure shortly there after to try and help others. So it was a GLITCH in Tesla’s system.

Lewisburg WV “Temporarily Unavailable” May 13th

We were headed home and enroute to the Lewisburg WV SuperCharger at 1 pm on May 13th, when my wife acting as my co-Pilot asked why the RED SuperCharger icon was GRAY. I asked her to tap on it to view its note page and she said it says it’s TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. After trying a few things at...

Why is Supercharger status always wrong?

Given that non-Tesla's can charge does Tesla now account for a non-Tesla as taking TWO spots and adjust the stall available accordingly?

    Supercharger - Lincoln, NH

About 18 months ago Tesla quietly improved the Lexington KY site, it was originally 8 V2 stalls when they added 12 new V3 and StarLink. BINGO we have a 20-stall station. This was taken on Dec 27th, 2023 on our way home. Since then we have visited that site two more times and there has NEVER...

Who is waiting on the 2024 changes to order a Plaid?

Personally I would like about another 50 miles of range before anything else all things being equal. 450 EPA rated miles is easily 350 in average conditions. I could complete our 990 mile road trips with just two charging stops which would also be meal time. So I’m more interested in a...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

We depart on May 9th on a 2K trip to visit our grand kids in Maryland. We’ve made this trip 10 times, stopping at the same 5 SCer’s. I’m 72 and a disabled vet, my wife is 71. While the car requires a minimum of 5 charging stops we use other stations for Bio breaks, so under any circumstances...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Can someone define "entire team" as reported in the media? Is the factory that manufactures the hardware in NY still operating, and are the folks that install and maintain them still on the payroll? The monitoring is probably automated. So who got fired?

Where to get caliper covers installed

Any small tire repair shop can easily and cheaply do it. A USAF buddy who is disabled did that while he had his tires rotated. I've read Tesla is now using something similar on new "Performance" vehicles. My 2022 MYP has factory-painted calipers and not covers. Is this true?

Can an alignment fix X rear camber issue

We have owned 2 Y’s since 2020 and am thinking of moving UP to a LR X, but I keep reading horror stories of the rear tires being destroyed much earlier than “normal” cars (like our Y) and needing to replace them far earlier. Replace the lead weight 20s for from lighter 18s and you recover most of the lost range and the car is faster. That's what I did with our 2022 MYP. I replaced the 21s with some 18s from TSportLine. It's like a different car. I wonder what this means for the future Model Y? And I noticed...

Help me choose: M3P inventory vs. Highland?

They just did and folks minds are about to be blown when you see the price AFTER the $7500 tax credit. And the ZERO to SIXTY time is WITHOUT the 1-ft rollout. So 2.9 is 2.9. The old M3P's 3.1 is closer to 3.2 or even 3.3.

    Y to 3 (Highland)

We have been considering trading to a Model S LR from our 2022 MPY. I have been able to compare a friends 2022 LR S directly to my 2022 MYP whenever the mood strikes and while we love the Y (this is our second Y) the S is a more more sophisticated, “buttoned down”, it just feels MORE...

For just $2,500 more, why did you order Model S (non-Plaid) over the Model X tax edition 5 seats ?

We've owned two Model Y's since 2020, and we enjoyed them immensely. We take 4 long road trips per year (2K miles) to visit our grandkids. And while we never experienced any issues with charging or range anxiety, we think the LR S would allow us to pick and choose or skip stops at will. Plus...

    Non-staggered for Model X

New EPA calculated range for 2024. LR is now 335 miles

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have read many times that the "miles" displayed on the battery ICON is simply a math formula - packs voltage multiplied by some "fixed" number the EPA uses? So what will cause the pack voltage to fluctuate, the temperature at the time of measurement, and any real...

    Car died today

My 5-day-old 2022 MPY died in my garage with 500 miles on it. Turns out it was a bad batch of a wiring harness (pins in a cannon plug were damaged). I was told it affected a few hundred cars. Due to a comedy of errors it took 8 days to get it fixed. But they did give me a Model X P90D with...

Brand new 2024 Model X range after charging

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was told years ago that the mileage displayed by the battery icon is essentially a MATH FORMULA. Unless you can SELF-FUND expensive repairs I'd pass on a pre-owned EV no longer under manufacturer warranty. But that's just how I think. Looking at the Tesla Pre-Owned site, they are selling pre-owned Teslas a greatly reduced prices and all are under warranty. I saw an M3 LR with 19" wheels...
