Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Yep from the videos I have seen, looks like LG has exact same launch and 60ft, and also the same kick up to about 50 mph. After that slower. Probably at least 2-3 tenths slower at the 1/4 mile. No wonder Tesla has dropped the prices already, a lot of EU folks waiting to see how much slower the...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Honestly a bit gutted that we outside the US get a worse performing battery, especially as those nice US Dragy times keep coming in. The new M3P could have been the perfect daily for me, but I (and plenty others) am holding off to see how much performance we really are loosing…

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Would the alleged 30-50hp difference in peak hp explain the massive difference after 40mph?

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

So Tesla could have made the MIC faster than the US 0-40 but waaay slower beyond, just to claim the same 0-60? Just as I feared, but we will have to see to comfirm 100% I guess..

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Hopefully the MIC version wont be much slower 60-130. 10 flat vs 9.6 maybe? Tesla just cut the M3P prices with about 6k in the EU, tempting to order if the performance loss is minimal compared to US

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

So in no form slower, at least to 100 kmh than Panasonic. Rollout is rarely subtracted outside the US, so a 3.23 true 0 to 100kmh easily translates to a 2.9 0-60 with rollout subtracted. Now someone please start testing the 1/4 mile times!!

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I have a theory that they havent advertised 1/4 mile times because there is a slight, but measurable difference between the US Pana spec and the LG spec. While the 0-60 could (and most likely would) be identical, its harder to make up for the hp differnece at 100+ mph. I have no idea what the...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Wasnt the MIC LG M3P faster than US Pana from 0-30 mph or so? Because Tesla upped the torque down low to provide same 0-60 as the Panasonic M3P, despite less HP and being slower from there. I guess it could be the same for Highland Performance, but I could be wrong with all of this..

    MYP on Gemini's

The 21" Ubers do not accelerate faster than the 19 inch Geminis. How could that be given the weight difference? Even with really bad tires the MYP is not traction limited, so the choice of tire is mostly irrelevant when speaking strictly 0-60 times. Plenty of tests have in fact shown the Geminis...

To Plaid or Not to Plaid?

Yes I saw his side by side comparisons of the 19 vs 21. But as you said, those tests were at the drag strip, where neither tire was traction limited because of high grip surface. As a result the lighter wheels will always be faster when traction is 100%. I guess one could argue that on a less...

To Plaid or Not to Plaid?

I have also watched Tesla Plaid Channel on YT and noticed he prefers the stock 19s vs 21 Arachnids for the drag strip. This is ofc on a prepped surface, and I have seen people mention that the 21s might be faster on the street, simply because the PS4S tires provides better grip than the P Zeros...

Model 3 Performance - Q2/3 2022 LG battery, significantly reduced power at upper end

Really interesting findings. I read through the thread from the German Tesla forum (linked above) about this a few weeks ago. I saw someone mention there that the LG was a touch faster 0-70 kph (~45 mph), but from there the Panasonic was faster. Is this true? Anyways a bit disappointed that...
