Thanks, it is funny that the nps site does not have it listed, nor the St Mary’s visitor center site. Urgh.
Thanks for your help. And seeing Tesla owner comments helps too.
Wish there was a site for small hotels or B and Bs that have either destination chargers or charge point etc.
Has anyone used the chargers in Bornwing , MT? They look like Rivian Waypoints from the map.
I think I will need a little extra after leaving Great Falls and getting to Swiftmotor Inn on the east side of Glacier.
Suggestions, info appreciated, Lydia
On the last leg of our return trip from Salida to Tucson and back, we stopped again at Alamosa. It was as expected with a new level V3 in terms of speed. The extra bonus was finding 1.5 blocks away an excellent NY style pizza and sandwich shop called My Brothers Place. See google maps for menus...
It is more about having options and knowing ahead of time how to use a different system. When we got to Demming, NM, we were charging next to a family who had rented a Tesla at the Alb. airport, and when they got to Demming they went to the Walmart and tried to plug into the EA charger. Clearly...
There is an Electrify America charger set up with four DC 350wt using a CCS1 adaptors and just a cc, no acct needed, about 1/4 mile down from the Tesla Supercharger on Cerrillos Rd. It worked perfectly, and is faster than the Tesla Supercharger. Just an option, it’s in the Walmart parking lot...
Charged there yesterday and it went well. There is a coffee shop on Main st less than a min walk away through the bank drive through clean bathrooms too.
The car appreciated the charge as it was 5 degrees outside and the ride from Salida where we live used twice as much as usual.
Has anyone used the Globe Electrify America fast chargers lately? Are they working? Trouble getting connected? What adaptor? Is there a similar chat or blog about EA chargers to check on? We are doing a road trip next week, and that location would be a help. Thanks
Gsmith123, agree entirely. I don’t like to experience range anxiety, so we are prepared. There is also a shovel and blanket in the frunk in the winter. Colorado in the mountains is pure joy. Snowing now in fact.
I think if you live where charging stations are not frequent, you get a number of adapters/converters. As an example, my BIL lives in Nebraska. He farms, and to get a sense of remote, he is six miles down a dirt road from a town of 350, 50 miles from a traffic light or Walmart.
So we purchased...
Thanks to both Ookami and Deep Blue for your recent trip reports. We live in Salia and heading to Tucson in a few weeks. Yes it can be a bit much without a top off in Alamosa. The new SC is a big help. If the weather holds will route via Durango on the way back. The tip on trying the Chargepoint...
Same here. Yesterday on a totally sunny dry day, temperatures in the 50s, the wipers spontaneously turned on And can’t turn off manually. My spouse tends to drive in auto. I don’t remember it happening as much with our 3, but with our current Y, on my. Will try the suggestions made on this site...
Ok,thanks for the suggestions, next time maybe. Used the supercharger in Monument yesterday. It is easy to get to, fast. The bathrooms at the convenience mart are clean and easily accessed from the charging area.
We charged about two weeks ago, not our favorite location but happy to have one. Interestingly, there was a Tesla in a stall, NOT plugged in for the 30 min we were there. Question: is there a term for ICEing a stall by an EV vehicle? It’s particularly annoying as there location was very fully...
