Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

I'll join in on the fun. Here's mine after installing rear diffuser and eagle eye taillights. I have since added a HaloBlk rear spoiler but no pics yet.

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

I have the same (or very similar) front lip except in matte black. Curious how yours is secured to the car? Did you use any screws or bolts? Mine looks like it's all by double sided tape and then some self tapping screws for underneath.

How are the Replika r241 wheels for the Model Y?

You will not need a ring kit if you purchase the wheels with the same Tesla specs. Bore size is 64.1. It will be a direct swap.

How are the Replika r241 wheels for the Model Y?

You can use your stock lug nuts and buy some caps for them. They are a tight fit though but it works.

    CleanCam rear camera washer

Unfortunately not. In my frustration trying to also run electrical wires for the new taillights, I forgot to take pictures from that end when I finally got everything routed. If it is helpful, here is a picture of the back of the housing and also the route I ran the tubing.

    CleanCam rear camera washer

I did a quick search and stumbled across a Reddit thread saying that Adam's make a clear windshield washer fluid. Will order some later. Someone also suggested using some cheap vodka. lmao

    CleanCam rear camera washer

I haven't looked for any yet. Right now it's just water in there for the initial installation and testing. I have a few months to sort it out before it gets cold again. :)

    CleanCam rear camera washer

I have installed a rear camera washer system onto my car. It is a challenge to keep the rear camera lens clean especially in winter climates where the rear camera constantly gets dirty because of road spray. Originally I bought the Abstract Ocean Superhydrophobic camera cover. It worked fine in...

    Stealth tow hitch

Yes, good point. Stealth Hitch does show it the other way around but the new diffuser protrudes too much preventing it from being mounted that way. I will need to take some measurements on the overall height to see if I need to get another mount that will work.

    Stealth tow hitch

It was a busy modding weekend installing various parts that I had purchased over the winter. Since I was going to be swapping out the diffuser, I decided I may as well install a tow hitch while everything was apart. After reading various posts, I decided to pull the trigger on a Stealth Hitch...

Potential Model Y Owner.... some questions

    1) Doesn't really matter. If you know someone with a Tesla, get them to refer you. 2) I'm pretty sure that the MY are all coming from the US now. You can check inventory and play around with filters here: Canada Tesla New Model Y inventory 3) No one knows. Many had predicted that the new M3...

Switching from 21 MYLR Stock Suspension to a 23 MPY Stock Suspension?

Have you confirmed the part #'s to ensure they are the newer "comfort" suspension? I believe they switched over sometime in 2023 so if it's from an earlier build it may not be the comfort version. AFAIK, no additional parts should be needed and should be a direct swap from MYLR to MYP. I have...

    Model Y Suspension Advice

You can see the part number of the rear strut by just looking through the wheel. Same with the front if you turn the wheel all the way to one side. Find it and then cross reference it. You should be able to google up the MYP part numbers. I believe the changes over the years are the last letter...

    AliExpress carbon fiber steering wheel

Thanks for sharing. That's pretty cool or should I say warm? :) Pretty big difference in temps. Was that on max heating? Not sure I could live with that. It gets quite cold here in the winter. Love the heated steering wheel.

    Tesla headlight adjustment

Similar with me. I was getting fairly frequent flashes from oncoming traffic. So found an empty parking lot and checked the alignment pointing towards a wall. Driver side driver side was higher than it should be. Made the adjustment and it's been pretty good since.

    spoiler install issue, question

I'd reach back out to the seller. If they are selling as direct fit, I'd be asking for a replacement or refund. Maybe they sent you the wrong spoiler? Using a filler as you proposed will not look good. Better off not having that spoiler at all over some half ass fix to cover up a pretty...

    AliExpress carbon fiber steering wheel

I've seen versions that state "fast heating" which takes about 30 seconds and "regular heating" which takes up to 5 minutes. I'm curious how fast yours takes to heat up and how warm it gets. I do see that only the leather sections heat up and not the carbon fiber sections. The stock wheel heats...

    Creaking liftgate

I crawled into the trunk and listened to the approximate area where the creaking was coming from. Then I poked and prodded around. This pic is where I had inserted my trim tool and isolated where the creaking sound came from.

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Tip of the hat to Teslogic. Noticed this morning that my v1 had the constant blind spot monitoring alert. I checked the app and they did a recent update to fix a bunch of things related to the blindspot monitoring. MY23 does not have the parking sensors.

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

Ah, so the limiter is just to help align everything during installation. I reached out to the seller on AE where I had bought my soft close unit and they are going to send me the limiter. Good service. I'm waiting for warmer weather to do the installation.

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

I had the same thought on the security side. Will give it some more thought but I still like the idea of a manual release cable. Maybe there is somewhere better to tuck one? If the frunk was stuck, is there a way to get at the latch from underneath the car or elsewhere (with the assumption that...

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

No but some of these kits come with a emergency manual release cable (Tlylard does not). @Jhom is suggesting that you can just make your own by using a bike brake cable or similar and run it from the OE latch to the tow hook cover. Check out Hansshow's installation video starting around the 1:30...

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Hansshow has an installation video on their page. Their closing mechanism is similar to others mentioned earlier. The emergency release cable simply attaches to the lock catch part (where the other cable is) of the OE latching mechanism. Then you run the other end down and zip tie it the wiring...

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

Nice! Do you have any concerns that you wouldn't be able to open the hood should the motor fail or something gets stuck while it's operating?

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

I don't have FSD either so I'm more interested in whether the blind spot monitoring works when none of the autopilot features are on. That being said, I found yet another video (not in English though) that shows how there are yellow warning signals when a car is in the blind spot. And he...

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

In this video, the blind spot warning shows yellow (although he does mention that there are phantom warnings). However, I've read comments in other videos that it only works with FSD engaged which is what is in this video. I'd like know if that's really the case.

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

I was poking around on the App Store and saw that the latest app version 1.5.x includes some new features for the v2 module. In particular it says constant blind spot monitoring. Can anyone describe how that it is displayed? Also the screen auto-off where the phone display automatically turns...

Where are you getting your updates from? I've got it on pre-order since October but haven't gotten any updates at all. I've gotten a couple of their other newsletters about Gen2 buttons and commander but nothing on the knob.

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

I didn't think of Hansshow suction close kit is probably using the same latching mechanism from their power frunk kit just without the struts and control module, etc. That would make a lot of sense. Looking at the Satonic v2, the latching mechanism does look a lot like the Hansshow power frunk...

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Interesting. The v2 version looks like it uses a different latch design than v1. Actually the v2 latching piece looks to be a similar design as the Futhrope except the v2 motor is mounted separately on its own bracket. And I’m pretty sure the v2 is the same one that Hansshow is selling but looks...

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Thanks for the video. Very helpful in understanding on how the mechanism works on it. If the latch were to get stuck in the down positioning while sucking the hood down, do you think you could still open the hood? That is my biggest concern about what happens if the unit fails? I looked at the...

    Model Y Caliper Covers

You’re probably looking at around the same price all-in whether you go the painted route or with covers. Unless you have a friend who is a little bit mechanically inclined, the time for the installation labour for either option is going to be fairly high relative to the cost of the paint or...

    Model Y Caliper Covers

Welcome to Tesla ownership! I don't think your hyperlink the covers you bought is working. But those installation prices are very high (I'm assuming you're in the US?). H&R Springs and Koni Yellow Shocks Installed

Thanks for posting. At some point I would like to do some suspension mods. The drop from your set up is a tad low for my personal preference. I'm also concerned about rubbing as I am running 20x10 ET40 with 275/40 tires square set up. I presume that you haven't noticed any rubbing yet?

    Travel cooler/fridge

I've got this one: BODEGAcooler 27qt/25L K25 12V Portable Car Fridge Freezer - Orange Fits nicely in the sub-trunk of the Y. I do prop up the trunk cover a little bit for venting as the cooler can get a bit hot when it's running. But it works quite well. If you have it full, run it on Max...

Tesla Owners, Let's Talk: Touchscreen vs. Physical Buttons - What's Your Take?

For me, I would prefer to have HVAC controls with a dial and buttons instead of hunting for it on the screen. For radio, at least have a dial for volume and on/off. Yes, you can do that with the left steering wheel but still would be convenient. Turn signals and gear shift should remain on the...
