    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

The wipers still suck. Also, it’s a “California Corolla” meaning everyone drives this car now to the point of yawn. And I own 2 MYPs, for the record.

Who is waiting on the 2024 changes to order a Plaid?

The Porsche Taycan interior is just too small for this big guy. Not to mention the much slower 0-60 time at the Plaid price.

Any advantage buying used from Tesla?

I’m looking to buy a used Model 3 RWD here soon. Are there any advantages to buying through Tesla vs private party or another dealership? I’d be paying cash, so financing not a concern.

Considering a Plaid...but do you think it's "worth it"?

Not sure about others, but I’m not seeing much discounting on remaining S/X inventory right now.

Any recommendations for a Tesla wall connector installer in Denver? Preferably one that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg.

    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

It just takes time to adjust to OPD. Everyone I’ve known who didn’t like it at first eventually converted to loving it.

Thoughts on another price reduction in the US for the MS P to meet 4th qtr #s

Respectfully, that doesn’t make sense in light of the X plaid increase. Possibly they’d drop the LR price but I can’t see them doing this for the plaid. And don’t get me wrong - as I wait to order, I’d love nothing more than another price drop!

Thoughts on another price reduction in the US for the MS P to meet 4th qtr #s

I can’t imagine they’re going to lower the price further after raising the X plaid by $5k a few days ago.

Ultra Red, thinking about skipping PPF

Isn’t that what insurance is for?
  10. CleanDemon

    PPF or not PPF

I simply go back to my question… Who are you saving the paint for? Seems like whoever you eventually sell the car to is the real beneficiary.

Considering a Plaid...but do you think it's "worth it"?

    $500? Filters are like $34 each. https://shop.tesla.com/product/model-s_x-air-filter

    Are bragging rights worth $15k?

Absolutely worth it. To have the fastest production car on the planet for $15K more? Hell yes!

Maybe I’m overreacting?! 😱 [first curb rash]

Having purchased 3 Teslas this year, I’m shocked how delicate the cars are. Paint chips, curb rash, cracked rim, bumper dent… I can go on and on. I came from a F150 and Bronco which were much more durable.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

We had a similar issue with a Model 3 we bought our son. Didn’t find the paint issues for a few days after pickup. As long as you submit something within the first 100 miles, you should be good.

Tesla drops prices on X/S $20k. All colors free. Bye bye resale

Tesla stock is down right now because demand forecasts are down (“it’s the economy, stupid”). I predict prices will stay lower into next year, possibly through the election cycle.

    PPF or not PPF

PPF is a complete waste of money

Tesla drops prices on X/S $20k. All colors free. Bye bye resale

Rumors are they will be releasing a Model 3 Plaid. Given Elon’s past comments on the S/X being built for “sentimental reasons” combined with his strategy of getting cheaper EV cars to the masses to help the environment, does that leave a place for an expensive complicated car?

Model S Refresh XPEL Quality Issues?

No offense, but you got taken to the cleaners with a $7K partial wrap + ceramic coating. Better luck next time!

New to the MSLR - delivery date this week!

There are camber issues with the 21” wheels where it wears out the inside of the tire. Lots of threads on this forum about it - I’d definitely read up on it before making a decision.

We took it to Discount, who found the crack. Their advice was to replace the wheel.

Cracked Wheel (Looking for feedback on options)

Resurfacing this thread as my wife’s MYP was just diagnosed with a crack too, after it started slowly leaking air. Can’t get a service appointment before October 12. The ugly underbelly of Tesla.

Advice on Accepting or Rejecting Model X

All those things are easy fixes plus you get the FSD transfer, which is huge. I’d accept it and let them fix it. In a few months, it will be like it never happened.

Model S/X minor refresh coming soon?

You don’t have to sacrifice range with a MSP. Just keep the 19” Tempest wheels and you’re only 9 miles less range than the LR. Win, win.

Any Model S Refresh/Plaid owners with the 21” Arachnid wheels regret not going with the 19” Tempests?

Love the look of the 21” Arachnids but would be great to hear from owners who actually have 5K+ miles on them and how they’ve worn. There’s a 63 page thread elsewhere on this forum that suggests you should run away from the 21” wheels as fast as you can, given all the inner tire wear issues. I’m...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I believe prices are as low as they will get. If they have to juice demand, they’ll offer miles or something like that. Once the tax credit is applied at POS starting next year, I expect prices may even go up a bit. And there’s supposed to be a small refresh too, which will be another reason to...

What have you hit with your rear hatch recently?

I opened mine in a parking garage at work and chipped the spoiler. You can see where the concrete juts down from the ceiling in this stupid design. Pissed!

    2024 Tesla MS Rumors

These aren’t rumors. Teslascope (great rep for early takes) and others have stated the S and X will receive a minor refresh with the new Model 3 functions. Put your business caps on - would make zero sense to not do this. I will be ordering a MSP once this happens.

    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

I ride my MYP around in sport mode all the time, to take advantage of the acceleration and tighter steering. Admittedly, there is some stiffness on bumpy roads, but nothing crazy. IMO, the performance boost far outweighs a marshmallow ride. That all said, if you can swing the move up to an X...

Quick impressions of a 2023 Model X test drive

Can’t beat the recent price drops but I might wait a wee bit longer. Rumors (e.g. Teslascope) have indicated a minor S/X refresh before the end of this year to include things like ambient lighting and possibly the new blind spot indicator. That combined with the new lower pricing is hard to beat.

    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

I own two 2023 Model Y Performance vehicles and wouldn’t switch them for anything. Most own the LR cars, so you look like everyone else - they even call them “California Corollas”. The MYP isn’t that much more than the LR model and it’s BIG difference in performance and looks much better, IMO...

Push me or hold me back: trade in 2019 MS for Sept 2023 MS?

My two cents (because you asked)… I’d stick with your 2019. It’s just a 4 year old car, and I’m guessing in good shape. You’ll take a bath if you try to sell or trade in and I think the lower prices are here to stay. Why not wait on HW5 or a front bumper camera? I bet we’re less than two years...
