Rear Glass - Slightly Higher Where It Meets The Roof

They had the glass roof locally (I’m in southern cal) in another service center so it only took 2 days to replace. At that point I had already had a the car for a couple of months and no leaks or wind noise (that I noticed anyway). No loaner car was offered, I had to push for it. It appeared to...

Rear Glass - Slightly Higher Where It Meets The Roof

I had a similar issue with my Fremont built 2023 MYP when I took deliver of it in December of 2022. See picture. It turned out to be an issue with the adhesive that held the room on. They ended up needing to replace the roof.

    Hit a curb while parking

Covers are a dime a dozen and very inexpensive 2nd hand. Posted a set of 4 that came off my wife’s MYLR for $40 (all 4) since September with no bites. Unfortunately your damage is definitely the rim. Few options id consider: 1. Leave it (easy to say because it’s not my car) 2. Replace them...

    Alternative to HomeLink module

I don’t think I’d ever have a need to remove it as the top pops off for battery replacement but that’s an even better idea! Always good to have an option.

    Alternative to HomeLink module

I park my ‘23 MYP in the garage and drive my car several time a day. Like other Tesla owners, I hated seeing the ugly and dated remote clipped to the visor of the biggest piece tech that I own. I also really disliked the inconvenience of opening the center console and digging around every time...

2023 Model Y Performance -- Impressions After First Drive

There’s a material difference in the feeling between the two cars. The MYLR is quick but the MYP is FAST. I considered MSP myself as the wife was going to take my Performance and let me upgrade. But in the end it would have been a tighter squeeze in the garage and another $35k. No doubt the MYP...

2023 Model Y Performance -- Impressions After First Drive

You may want to consider an aftermarket power frunk kit. I DIYed them (Hansshow brand) on my MYP and the wife’s MYLR. They are well built and work with the Tesla app and physical button inside the frunk. Installing requires a bit of elbow grease but well worth it IMO.

2023 Model Y Performance -- Impressions After First Drive

Great list. Thanks for putting it together! The wife and I have a 2023 MYP and a MYLR. Totally agree with your Pros but no basis of comparison for the cons. I’ve got 10k on my MYP and have loved driving every mile of it!

Hannshow Model Y Frunk opener - V5 question

Totally agree. The locking mechanism and latch remain OEM and are controlled by the Tesla app and the car, not by the aftermarket parts. The aftermarket struts lift and lower the hood while the suction lock pulls the hood down and locks it in place. Besides an incorrect install, not sure how...

Hannshow Model Y Frunk opener - V5 question

Here’s the screenshot of the widget shortcut that I use to open and close the frunk. Still works!

    Ambient Lightning Tap in

Was this ever solved? The ambient lighting connection would follow the on/off profile of the ambient lighting system - on/off based on windscreen sensor.

Swapping seats from ‘23 MYP w/ ‘23 MYLR (RCM Fault)

I scoured the service menu. There’s nothing related to the firmware that I could find. I ended up just calling one of my local service centers. Took awhile to get to the right person (ended up with the back of the house service manager) who advised me that they can’t do it. But perhaps a 3rd...

Swapping seats from ‘23 MYP w/ ‘23 MYLR (RCM Fault)

I haven’t found a set of covers that I was happy with quality and fit wise. We also bought my wife’s car with the intention (if she wasn’t into them) of swapping. Turns out she doesn’t like them. Will likely end up calling the Tesla service center to determine costs to update firmware.

Swapping seats from ‘23 MYP w/ ‘23 MYLR (RCM Fault)

Appreciate the post. This option is highly intrusive and I suspect would void our warranties. Will keep it as a nuclear option.

Swapping seats from ‘23 MYP w/ ‘23 MYLR (RCM Fault)

I attempted to swap the black seats out of my 2023 MYP (prod 12/22) with my wife’s 2023 MYLR (prod 8/23) white seats. Though very labor intensive (job took nearly 2 hours, every bolt, clip, plug, and plastic retainer was identical. Disconnect the 16v low voltage battery and shut off the high...
