Thanks for clarifying @MrBadger I guess it was the free service that I enrolled to preciously.

can Teslafi inform you of updates without a subscription? i was referring to one of the previous comments of @MrBadger- "I’ve had TeslaFi notify me of an available download before it’s appeared in the app"

oh! Teslafi can inform of updates is it? I didn't know that. i had an account with Teslafy for a brief moment but cancelled it as the car wouldn't sleep. it appears like Teslafy was polling for info and prevented the vehicle from sleeping?

i have had the vehicle since last June and as per my experience, 60% of the updates the car received is by 'pull to refresh' on the dashboard screen. i did not receive notifications on my mobile. but for other 40% (including the latest one), i did get the notification on my mobile.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

i have had situations in the past when the vehicle did not check for updates for good 3-4 days. it only checked for it and received the update immediately after a soft reset. this could have been a glitch.

oh god! i thought model 3 were first to get the update!
  7. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I know this sounds elementary, but if the car hasn't checked for an update in the last 24 hours, I suggest you do a soft reset.

This is very odd ! I thought i was the last one to receive it! Which vehicle is it?

my first reaction upon seeing the update- oh god: how dirty my screen is! how big the speedo is! how much stuff those little cameras can capture!

so why are you still following Tesla posts then? just kidding 😄. enjoy your new car. I don't know about the efficiency but I am sure you would like the suspension and ride quality.
  12. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

not sure pulling down to refresh would help. refresh only works after 24 have passed since the last check. happy to be corrected here.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

no updates for me yet :( It is not necessarily a bad thing, as I see few posts reporting bugs. so maybe it's 2024.14.9 for me, with all these bugs fixed 🤔

Wondering why the 2024.14 is currently biased towards the model 3 vehicles 🤨

2024.20 update is out. 2024.20 is already in the pipeline and it hasn’t even started rolling out yet. suffice it to say I have given up on waiting 😂
  17. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I don’t think this matters as there are plenty of posts on this. However, for peace of mind, I would leave it at advanced .
  18. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

not sure if it's related but one of the boot struts on my 2023 model y makes a fluttering noise when opening and closing on warm days.
  19. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

it appears to be buggy with lots of complaints, so i think they might fix it better over 1 or 2 iterations before mass release. so i would expect mine to be 2024.14.8 or .9 fingers crossed.
  20. R

Looks like the 2024.14.7 downloads have started to ramp , so not too long now … 🤞

perform a soft reset of the vehicle and see if that fixes any of these issues. they usually recommend a soft reset after every update.

Could you try auto cancel indicators and let me know how it is. Thank you !

ya, you're probably right, it's just like one of those things. the more you wait .. the more the delay.. just dont care about it and it will come to you eventually

I have seen few early videos of 2024.14 update on vehicles with USS.
  28. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Although it appears like the mass downloads have started, in my view the count has to reach 1000+ before it is widely available in the UK.

Could you confirm if there is any improvements to HF park assist?

The sooner the better ! Can’t wait to see the new UI
  31. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I have a feeling that by the time the 2024.14 gets rolled out in bulk in UK, it would be 2024.14.10 or later versions . So in other words it would be a month at least for the software to be rolled out in bulk .

Tesla 3 Windshield pits/stone chips? Is it softer glass than other cars?

I had a similar incident with few pits appearing on my model Y glass. Pit filler resin is useless for shallow pits , it just right off after few months . I was told that the resin is only good to fix cracks in the windshield .

Scratched black paint - fix it or forget it?

So I was right then, buffing will remove most of the scratches .
  34. R

Scratched black paint - fix it or forget it?

One thing I can say is don’t expect the search to be fixed by paint alone. Buffing is needed even after painting to blend the scratch in with the rest of the surface.

Scratched black paint - fix it or forget it?

I was speaking out of my experience on using G3 scratch remover. So I am not trying to sell him snake oil 😂
  36. R

Scratched black paint - fix it or forget it?

Get a scratch remover (the likes of G3). Put it on a micro fibre cloth and start buffing it out in straight lines (left to right - right to left , up down and down up ). Don’t do circular motion .i promise you the scratch will either completely go away or look much less conspicuous that you will...

any recommendations for reliable air inflator

very valid point. the ring cordless inflators (well atleast the rtc 4000) has the option to plugin via the 12v socket and pump if the battery on the inflator has gone flat.

Just purchased the rtc 4000 RTC4000 Cordless Rechargeable Tyre Inflator I feel this is a balance between Bulky 6000 and the slow 2000

in that case I will have to fork out a bit more and get the cordless equivalent of rtc 1000 as I was quite happy with it, until the tripping issues began. Choice is either rtc 6000 or may be the cheaper rtc 4000.

Think I might go with this one . I don’t need anything fancy . In this age of work from home all I need is a device that could handle occasional top ups. Thank you all for your valuable contributions 🙏

been using Ring RTC 1000 since last august. but started to encounter issues, it seems to trip the cigarette lighter fuse on the vehicle. not sure how reliable the replacement would be. so i want to try other brands.
