    2023 Holiday Update

I was expecting traffic lights on my maps, I see the speed cameras. Guessing they didn't get included for older cars? (Model 3 2019)

    Security of Phone/Card/Key?

I use an Apple iPhone as my key. My lounge is right next to the car on my drive. I use the focus feature to turn my Bluetooth off between 10pm and 7am. Plus pin to drive.

    Variable schedule/pre-conditioning

That’s interesting, never seem to have any issues pre-conditioning mine via the app. If you are having failures I’d suggest might be worth reporting to Tesla via a service request so they can look into why it’s failing for you.

    MOT Bedford or MK

Kwik-Fit are fine. They have had the training, and will have MOT’d one before.

    Variable schedule/pre-conditioning

Yes you can. You can use the Apple short cuts build into the Tesla App. Those can be set as Automations in the shortcut app. Apple Shortcuts: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/shortcuts/apd932ff833f/ios The available options from the Tesla App...

The old owner was still signed into mine. So I emailed them .. didn’t get a response. Signed up to premium connectivity in the car .. then they transferred it sharpish.

    Data Sharing Prompt

There is a tick box on it which is prompt for every trip/journey - just make sure you don’t have that selected.

Sentry mode exclude home off by 50 feet or so

To recognize a location listed as Home, Work, or a Favorite, Model 3 must be parked within approximately 1,640 feet (500 meters) of the saved location. https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/GUID-56703182-8191-4DAE-AF07-2FDC0EB64663.html

    Full Self-Driving Visualisation Preview UK

So are we saying the Full Self-Driving Visualisation Preview will improve when FSD is released?
  21. O

    Full Self-Driving Visualisation Preview UK

Is it me or does the FSD preview look quite light in detail. Especially junctions. Certainly compared to YouTube videos of FSD virtualisations from the US. I haven’t bought FSD, but wondering the if FSD preview will be improved to match the actual FSD experience in the US?

Sentry Mode - Depressing how many people open doors into the car

Yep you do all of that and it still happens.. The point is before you don’t really see how often it happens on a normal car. Sentry mode just makes it more obvious it has happened.
  23. O

    AirPlay incoming

It needs a network connection - it can easily use a ad-hoc wifi it establishes with the car. Apple make it a seamless standard.

Is it possible to fry the computer from removing rear Amp

I have seen this message in the service settings with a slider. The last part doesn’t make any sense to me: “Premium amplifier is powered off by default in service mode. This ring located on its bracket to avoid electrical damage.”

Sentry Mode - Depressing how many people open doors into the car

Todays was in an empty car park when I arrived. I parked some distance away from the entrance/exit.
  26. O

    AirPlay incoming

Airplay allows you to stream audio via wifi at a much higher quality than bluetooth. Not related to CarPlay.

Sentry Mode - Depressing how many people open doors into the car

Obviously not a lot you can do about it, but seeing on Sentry mode the number of times I park somewhere and someone just bumps their door into mine is annoying. I guess before I didn't realise how often it happens.

Software updated to 2023.20.7. Data Sharing preference scree keeps appearing

Sure I saw a box/prompt that you can select to request your preferences each drive. It’s likely you’ve selected that?

Phone Key always connected at Home

It’s definitely odd, as phone is showing as connected in the app - but car doesn’t unlock if I leave the phone on the couch. I have to bring the phone closer to the car to work. I assumed it worked on a time based calculation of the signal. So whilst you can have a connection it isn’t one that...

Phone Key always connected at Home

iOS you can use the focus mode to automatically turn off Bluetooth. So mine turns off at night and back on in the morning. If for whatever reason I need the car earlier/later I just turn bluetooth on manually. P2D is on anyway. My car is parked less than 2 metres away from my window. If I...

Looks like someone tried to lever my front nearside window down

It doesn’t help, but I went for a doorbell that records 24/7 for that exact reason as I don’t like detection based recording as it does miss things. (I have a nest wired doorbell - 10 day 24/7 and 60 day event) If you look on YouTube there are videos of people removing that chrome trim that may...
