Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
That sounds horrible, I don’t think it’s the same lose nut that I experienced. I wonder if you try to tighten the hex bolt at the bottom of the strut that’s connecting the strut to the bottom bracket? (Picture attached) Although I suspect the shock is moving within the housing and I don’t...
I bought the replacement struts from T-Sportline. They are Arnott replacements. They hey had the best price. In reviewing the Arnott’s to the OE Tesla struts. I couldn’t see a difference. Both have Bilstein dampers and Firestone airbags. The ride is very similar to the OE struts I had with...
I have been dealing with a rattle coming from the left front of my Model X P100D. It was very plasticy sounding that sounded like it was coming from just under the windshield. It was driving me nuts for a few weeks and after replacing all of the trim under the frunk and tearing the dash apart...
I have the same rattle on the left side of the car. I had a Tesla tech drive it and he thinks it's the air struts. Although, he couldn't fully diagnose it because he didn't have the equipment being the mobile engineer. The cost to diagnose it was $250 from Tesla... I am trying to figure it...
I couldn’t agree more. I have a Dec 2017 P100D with FSD which was upgraded to HW 3 and MCU2. It’s great, I do wish I would have bought a Raven motor vehicle because of the winter range loss due to not having a heat pump. But I bought mine at the height of the craziness so I bought the only...
No problem. When I first got my MX, the door sensors were bad and I have to tell you that when they don’t work properly, it’s basically an unusable car. I have 4 kids and I felt like shooting myself in the head for the week before I could get it into the service center.
Generally it’s the front control arm bushings. Known problem on the Model X. Mine were bad at 38,000 miles. Had it replaced under warranty. I’m at 77,000 miles now, still no squeaking.
That would indicate that it has Ludicrous+. It’s the same car I have. Great vehicle. Are you going to test drive it first? I highly recommend it. (1) Check the falcon doors for sensor issues by letting it sit in the sun for 5-10 minutes. (2) check if there’s front end squeeks when turning...
Thank you very much for this information. Makes a lot of sense. It’s spending dollars to save fractions of a penny! I stopped using the app after 2 days.
Hey everyone, I just downloaded the Optiwatt app that schedules your charging based on the cheapest charging from my electric company (Com Ed). Is it ok for the Tesla to start and stop charging so frequently? It charging at the cheapest times. But if it’s bad for the battery, I’ll stop...
I would totally go with the P100D. The door on the 100d needs to be fixed and that’s probably at least $1,500 or more. Definitely not a software bug, a sensor issue. It’s a common problem. Good luck with your purchase.
On the Falcon doors, do the doors show a grey or red line on screen like the pictures I attached? If so, it’s probably the radar sensors on the Falcon door that prevent it from hitting things. It’s a complicated repair and can cost 2k-3k to repair and Tesla has to do it because of the...
In my 2017 P100D with 22" wheels it reads 400 Wh/mile in the summer months. In the winter it reads more, but I track every charge and every KhW that goes into my car and I have a spreadsheet. In real terms, I am getting a net of 523 wh/mile or using 1.91 miles per kWh. I have logged 35,423...
Yeah, I was pretty set on getting a new Plaid, but the features I’m losing in the Plaid coupled with the $60k cost to upgrade caused me to really appreciate mine.
Probably. It’s a project truck that’s being restored. I was taking it to a budy’s shop to get some body work done and get a new 360 and trans installed. So, no drivetrain. The Tesla pulled it as good as my 2500. Better with the Regen.
HI Anthony,
I bought a December 2017 MX P100D and I absolutely love it. I was considering the same choice you were with a new Y vs a used X. I periodically tow my cars and cars of friends and the X is literally the best towing vehicle I owned for this purpose. I use my 2021 2500HD Duramax...
I have a December 2017 build Model X P100D and I test drove a Plaid Model X yesterday with the thoughts of upgrading but after driving it I couldn't justify spending another $60k on top of my current X. A few thoughts I had about the differences between a Performance VS Plaid. Given the...
