Reporting back after RCM change. Purposely not charged for about 6 days now.... 3.9% vehicle standby! Car is finally back to normal and haven't done the next software update... Wish I can just turn off software update and no reminders indefinitely.

You have to keep trying unfortunately. I had to try 3 times and try different location. Can you provide some screenshots for them? Take picture of park energy graph, showing the time and odometer... Then do another 24 hours later. Maybe a few points to note in your message. You turned off...

Will need a few months to get over the power drain drama. Not touching that update. Doesn't look like there's an option to stop updates completely. Can we take the car off wifi and maybe it won't download?

Mine is the Fremont model 3. I think model 3 in Canada is from Fremont until US changed its rebate rules.

If you don't have problem, that's great. Probably some batch that had issues. Obviously, as owners we wouldn't know the real answer. But it is widespread enough that I think Tesla knows about it. My tech replaced RCM part only within 24 hours so there should be a published article...

Just checked the invoice. They replaced only RCM on my car. Sounds like there is some sort of internal database of solution available to techs already as I got my car back within 24 hours.

The service center here asks for key. Otherwise, they charge you to prgoram a key to enter your car.

Looks like my car is sleeping after they claim to replace the body control module. However, I see them drive a lot of mini trips, maybe they did a bit more than that. Going to monitor for a few more days... but I think it's fixed!!! I consumed extra 130kwh last month. That was stupid...

My tech is going to try to replace the "Body Control Module", because RCM is meant for seat belts so they were not really believing what I told them. We'll see. I told them to drive it around a bit before testing whether the car would go to sleep. In the end, they can diagnose and repair...

To help you get some attention so they don't give you the 'standard' IT support, make sure you mention that sentry mode, cabin overheat protection and summon is off. Tell them you did soft reset and did factory reset. Lastly, take a picture of the energy app showing vehicle standby drain...

If that is the case, they should need to recall the vehicles to get them fixed. It would have been so much easier if they did that.

You may have to keep trying, unfortunately. Even maybe a different service center. It took me 3 tries to have someone order the part (not sure what the part is yet). I had to do the following to convince them: Take a picture of the "Vehicle Standby" with time and odometer on the same picture...

That's good news! I'm shocked to see this RCM part break for so many Model 3s (given the number of reports here). I wonder if they imported some lemon part, or just completely decided to stop supporting that model of RCM completely. Looking forward to my appointment now...

I have appointment Aug 10th, please let us know if the Restraint Control Module was the issue! I assumed it was software issue because a bunch of us had the issue as soon as we moved to 2023.20.7. Or maybe software update destroyed the part? Who knows.

Yeah.. drive it out and see. After software update car will sleep. Once you drive the car out it will start draining again. If it works, let us know how you did the hard reboot. Love to see this get fixed.

Reporting back on this test. Deleted the Tesla app on the iPhone yesterday. No difference in overnight draining... Still humming without sleep.

I believe in Canada model 3 RWD is from Fermont. Model Y RWD is from Shanghai. My VIN has "F" in it on the 11th spot. According to what I googled anyway.

I am not sure which parts, they didn't say in the message. I have to wait 2 weeks though... looks like it takes awhile. Let me check if it's iPhone related, we do have 2 phones connected to the car, one of them is an iPhone.

2023 with LFP with ryzen. I have the battery drain issue. Forgot to add. Model 3 RWD.

2023.20.9 did nothing to fix the battery drain issue. Lost 5% overnight, about 9.5% over 24 hours. With this issue, ~150kWh per month is going down the drain. I already had 2 service requests and they brushed it off saying 9% - 10% is "normal". Going to try again to increase the service...

Waiting to see results. In the other thread someone reported that software update will out car to sleep first time and won't happen again. Hard to tell if idle drain is real during the day.

I would wait until someone can confirm new software update which addresses the issue. It's an unnecessary waste of power (~5kwh / day) and summer road trips range is reduced.., even if car is parked overnight.

100% it's a software bug. This started happening right after software update. Basically car isn't going to sleep. Like your laptop unable to go into sleep mode to save power and drains overnight Not all software bugs affect every car, but you said you are a Tesla owner so you should know...

I think this only affects a smaller group of owners. Seems like only late 2022 or early 2023 model 3 is getting this problem?

It is frustrating, but likely a software issue. The service center can only test hardware. The best you can do is to report it. Tell them you went through the list of things you turned off. The car did not behave this way after software update and ask them nicely to tell the software team...

Also updated to 2023.20.8 and still seeing the issue.
